This guy has the amount of hands that every Spider-Man figure should have by default.

At the very least, we should be looking at: Two fist hands, two thwipping hands, two wall-crawling hands, two fingers-lightly-touching-the-floor hands, one magazine-holding hand, one jerking off hand, two Gwen-killing hands, one bare hand holding a cell phone (stupid touch screens), two gun-holding hands (Japanese/Noir only), and two hands molded into a detachable belt piece that makes him look like he's pulling on his pants.

Honestly Anthony the figure gods are not kind to you, I have seen 4 reviews of this figure and all have the headband thingy hanging down, its like your was put on upside down which seeing its Hasbro its highly likely. I'm not saying its looks good but it looks way better than yours does. Great review though thanks.

When I opened him and went for the JCVD splits immediately lol, I thought exactly the same thing.
Your headband is the only one I’ve seen like that. All the other reviews have it facing downwards. I think you just got a dud. Lol.

@@josephelston895 Also, a lot of other reviewers go to stores to pick out the best figure they can find (they say as much), while Anthony always just buys online, with no choice of figure.
In other words, a lot of other reviewers give "slanted" reviews, because the figures they review are from a pre-selected bunch. If you judge your buying decisions from those reviewers, you will generally come out more disappointed, especially if you buy from online sources.

My headbands like his too.
I took the "bored" expression to be Shang-Chi in a Buddhist Śūnyatā state of emptiness, a concept that is central to Chinese and Japanese culture and martial arts as a whole. He's not bored, he's empty of the self to make focusing on fighting easier. Some fighters use facial expressions and yelling to help motivate them, some don't. Bruce Lee did, Chuck Norris didn't.
I guess they got it wrong all the times they drew him in the comics... Which is... You know... The source material for the figure.

I only do it for the ones that really need it. Too often and it would lose its appeal. Glad you appreciate it though.

This is the shang chi I grew up reading the comics with way back in the 7o's what would have been nice is if the gave him his jacket that matched trousers,
You can tame the flowing bandanna bits in 30 seconds. Hot water for 20, then hold them down towards the direction of his body and run them under cold water for 10.

When I saw him in the store I didn't even notice the headband being like that.
Probably cause it wasn't. This particular figure is the only one with the headband like that.

Wow! Yeah I have my Shang-Chi fig in my hand right now and his headband pieces are definitely pointing down, curvy in motion but pointing down, (I wish I could attach a pic to show how different they are!) I sometimes think the Action figure gods prank you on purpose because they know how particular you can be, LOL!

@@AnthonysCustoms I've gotten to the point that when I buy online I grab two or three copies because at best only one of them wont be sloppy and fail my own standards.
Just put it in some hot water and let it soften up a little, then pose it the way you want and then put it in cold water to harden again

This figure is absolutely amazing I started to pose him around and he can balance on 1 foot and do some crazy style kicks

The only thing that disappoints me about this Shang-Chi really is somewhat the nunchucks, just that I really expected those to be made from a more pliable softer plastic. They're surprisingly stiff. Other than that, the paint is slightly off on the headband on mine, but I can fix that.

Always thought they just retooled the elbow joint on this guy, but I was just posing him next to Sunfire and realized the arms on him are 100% new and 100% better. The improvement is so huge I'm shocked I didn't see it right away.

Weird thing to notice... But, I actually think the oval nipples work on this figure... Because of the way they sculpted the pecs. There's a crease line near the arm pit, that suggest the pecs are flexed are the horizontal plan. So the nipples are not oval, they just flexed and stretched horizontally. However, the flat hair and windy head band is an issue. They should have provided either (2) heads or at least a swap-able band insert so you can have a more relaxed band look.
You too would love the character if you read MoKF, one of Marvels all time awesome comic series. I agree with you on the neutral face expression (although no one as mentioned the head scarf), they could have had one less pair of hands replaced with an alternative head. But then again you are unhappy that the Beast always has a open mouth.

I pre ordered from game stop. And I went in the day after. He said I had good timing bc marvel legends was 15 percent off today . Sadly they didn't have vulture. But everywhere all r sold out except for the spideys. I picked up the Last white rabbit from wal Mart. Bought one leg off eBay. But I usaly wait until wal Mart has them for 5 bucks on.clearance.

Couldn't a lil hot water remedy that headband? Not ideal,but it isn't completely unfixable.
One thing I have learned over the years is that no one figure is truly perfect. That being said Stang Chi is almost perfect. The head band does bother me but that's an easy fix. Use cloth, I prefer cloth anyways. The leg split is another problem but a little dremel and bam. You can always make cloth pants too. Then he will be perfect. Thanks for the great reviews.

It's kind of embarrassing that Marvel is dusting off forgotten character Shang-Chi because they realized their Asian representation was so nonexistent. They should just make a new character who actually fits with the times if they are so worried about it. Bringing back a caricature of Bruce Lee from the height of the 70s kung-fu craze is just such a horrible move that will appease no one
It's bootleg anime headband. It's supposed to move constantly as if in the wind, but this one is just without the movement.

Hasbro, this figure could have benefited from having different facial expressive heads! -You know: an angry yelling Bruce Lee-ish head, a confident smirking head, etc! Make another comic inspired Shang-Chi figure that comes with some gripping hands, fisted hands and comes with a different accessory along with in a different costume with those different heads I just mentioned; and make the heads compatible with the neck joint on this Demogoblin wave Shang-Chi figure right along with making the hands compatible too! forums.superherohype.com/threads/shang-chi%E2%80%99s-costume.549241/#post-37468685

The poseability is good on this figure but I think they should've used the new torso they added on the Superior Octopus Spider-Man figure. Also I think Hasbro stepped it up with the hands for the figure which begs the wonder why Hasn't can't add this many of hands with their other figures?
Seriously Hasbro, come on! You have so many figures with mixed matched hands even some that don't even have alternative hands at all it's so annoying and limits doing more dynamic poses.

If every head band was actually like this one I would also be pissed but fortunately it's not, use the hair dryer technique and it should be OK Anthony. I think they should have used the new diaphragm joint instead of the classic ab crunch and also a bit more range in the hips, the Master of Kung Fu not being able to do the splits is just wrong. It should have an extra head with some kind of fighting expression and I would also prefer matte colors all around. Am I the only one that finds the sash a bit strange since it should be a belt with a knot and the tips hanging? Is this an elastic band that he has to either step inside and pull it up or ask some one to pull it down while we makes a diving pose?!!! In the end I like this character and this figure, it's not perfect but it's very good for the price point. Thanks for the review Anthony.
The hair dryer technique? To fix a piece that was glued in upside-down?
If I knew it was glued in upside-down I wouldn't have suggested the hairdryer, it wasn't meant as a critic, in fact it's quite the opposite because even if it was warped and you could solve it with a hairdryer it would still be bad QC. I know you're unlucky when it comes to QC related issues, having things like this happen to you on a regular basis serves to prove that Hasbro has bad quality control and every collector of ML figures knows this to be a fact. Mine hasn't arrive yet and if by any chance the headband is also glued in upside-down I'll be very unhappy to say the least. In fact if you read my full comment you will notice that I agreed with all your critics and added one of my own about the sash not being a belt as it should.
Awful. I'm old enough to remember him coming out in comics . He mainly wore a red jacket i can live with our that, but he had red kung by slippers and metal wristbands. How do they miss these things?.
