Beautiful texture, the paper marks are lovely, and also think the end of paper mark is great..I love organic images and think that end of paper mark half way down on metal could be a flower stem combined with a hole punched out above it and some score marks around that...voila..a flower...rolling mill next on list of things to aguire..somehow...! ! Its ridiculous how hooked I am on your videos, ...but keep them coming ..they are cool..and stop me getting in a pickle, many thanks 🌸🌼🌺
So you don't have to put this through the mill with extra copper (or other metal) sheets over it? As in sandwich it between extra metals? It works just as well this way?

One question that comes up for me in your videos is you refer to the thickness of your metal as point 7, or point 9, or point 5. Is there another interpretation of that measurement? Like gauge maybe? What exactly is a point 7, etc. Thanks for your time. Nirado
nirado1 I believe Mr. Harrison is using millimetres since he is in Australia where the metric system is used. Google “convert mm to gauge” to get conversions.
Hi Soham, I love your videos. I've learned a lot from you. I have a rolling mill much like yours (mine's a Durston DRM), but the number wheel doesn't seem to turn independently from the handwheel. Is that normal? Also, how do you adjust the parallel of the rollers? I tried adjusting according to the directions that came with the mill, but it's really, really difficult to turn the gears under the handwheel. Do you have a video demonstration of that, by any chance?
Hi Soham. question. I bought a rolling mill and just pulled out of the box. Bought it in December. Afraid to use it. I don't want to mess it up. Can I roll my own bezel? If so do I use square or round wire?
+Gertrude Sever dont be afraid, just never put anything wet, or steel through it and you will be fine. i just use .5mm fine silver sheet, roll to the thickness i want, if i want it thinner, then shear it to the right height.
soham harrison Thank you. I'm in the market for a rolling mill and it's hard to get a real perception of size from just a picture on the internet. Since you seem to do many different kinds of things do you find having the grooves in the rollers very handy or kind of superfluous?
You are wrong with your heating torch, you always turn the gas off first, turning the oxygen after the gas will blow out the any possible gas in your mixing chamber, and prevent burn back in you hoses, otherwise can cause any explosion, as a professional welder I use gas blow back arrestor, goggle gas cylinder explosions

Just done this with a strip of ribbon mesh that came off a bouquet of flowers. Lovely result! Thanks Soham, your videos are just great.
Finally, an understandable demo of how to use the rolling mill. Very expensive little machines. Jewelry making is not a cheap hobby.

It does - just done it with a strip of textured ribbon on top of the sterling silver and got a lovely result.

Just curious why you don't flux metal to prevent firescale or use a more reducing flame to heat.

This might sound crazy, but do you think it is possible to use a stainless steel pasta making machine as a small rolling mill?

geweldigaum i got the roma model because it had the extra half round grooves. i use them a lot. the regular square grooves are useful too.
it should be acetylene off first , then oxygen..that stops burn back by getting rid of the combustible fuel..
