You did a wonderful job of explaining what kindergarteners need to be able to do in order to have a successful year in the present and future. Thank you! I am sharing your video with my incoming first grade students. Again, thank you so very much.

Would you anticipate utilizing these skills/standards for homeschooling. Even just as a guide?

Yes absolutely! I created a kindergarten phonics curriculum based on these standards. They are perfect for homeschooling because you can clearly see what your child should be able to read/write by the end of the year. Are you homeschooling this year?

I am, however, my daughter is currently “prek” as she is 3.5 but I am looking for goals and what to work towards, as she is excelling in many prek goals you have listed. This is the perfect guide for what I should strive for us later on in our year (year round). Thank you so much!

@@kristananderson7138 That's awesome! It's nice to have a roadmap so you know where to head next. Feel free to email me with any specific questions about her progress: erin@littleslovelearning.com. Good luck!

OMG! OMG! OMG! No time to play😢

Actually there's plenty of time to play! Your child can have free, independent play AND learn literacy skills (also through play!) We don't have to pick academics or play, we can incorporate both for our little ones.
