      Hi Nola, I know how challenging it is to believe that recovery is possible for ourselves, especially later in life and after years of illness, but it is possible. It's almost as though we see it for others but can't possibly allow it to touch us. I know how skeptical I was. There are many of us here on the other side of illness now, who have found the way to recovery, so know that you are not alone.

    I thought it was interesting how Claudia was trying to explain how she somehow felt left behind, even though her husband stuck by her. We are left behind in life. It's not their fault, it's not our fault, it's the illness. People who have spouses who stick by them are very blessed. Having your marriage last is such a blessing. Those of us who wound up alone can see that more easily I suppose. I try not to envy those in solid relationships, but I honestly do.

My full recovery wasn't that long ago, so I'm just starting this new career and my niche is to help others heal from chronic illnesses. This story is the most powerful i have heard. I never understood what it meant to choose life and take control of my future over being chronically ill and having it control me. I just started a brain retraining program and I cannot wait to get stuck in and regain physical strength and regain my brain.
    I Soooo identified with the description of all the thought overwhelm and steps and fears about simply going to a store: the shower, the putting on clothes, the driving, the standing around. My coping mechanism has been avoidance and i realize how sad this is. Ive lost so much, i dont know who i am anymore. Im going to take a life lesson cue from this success story. I heard myself in her and so if she can recover, so can I.
    Thank you both for what you do. Thank the universe fir putting this video at the top of my feed.

    I am post-menopausal and I am about 60-70 % better after 20 years, but I am having these different setbacks. When I am trying to engage my brain in ways that stress it, ie - a new puppy and cooking dinner. Within 3 days I was in a meltdown: legs heavy, arms heavy, speech slurred, head hurt from too much thinking. Found puppy a new home and within 2 weeks was back to my current place in recovery. This happens in extreme stress, brain just shuts down. I think your story is giving me some insight. Thank you. (& Thank you to Raelen for your channel and hosting.)

      Hi Homemakersheart, As a hypnotherapist I would say that since you have conscious awareness of your stress response, and you desire for it to change, but are unsuccessful at consciously willing it to change, then this stress response is a pattern triggered at the subconscious level. Hypnotherapy is powerful at encouraging change of habits/patterns, even if they've been there since early in life. It's a brief therapy with lasting effects. I have been successfully helping others make changes like this through hypnotherapy, and now having recovered I am able to utilize my illness and recovery experience to others in recovery.

    I had to learn the hard way, several times, when it comes to die off symptoms and being told that you have to feel worse for awhile to feel better, that this was not the case for me. If a treatment was making me feel much worse, there was no getting better over time. I was just getting worse. I believe this the first few times, but then I'd see myself set back in symptom severity for the next year or more and I just refused to try anything that made me feel much worse.

      Hi Mia, That's a strong platform on which to stand. It demonstrates that you've done a lot of internal work in addition to all the necessary body work Brain retraining is not only about changing our thoughts. There is much brain retraining that can occur as a result of changing how we sleep, how we eat, how we move, hour we breathe, etc. Neuroplasticity is powerful!

    I JUST got diagnosed with Hashimoto's - 22 years of CFS and Fibro !! I knew there was something going on, I kept telling them there MUST be something !! I had high thyroid antibodies 15 years ago and yet it has taken 22 years for one Dr to validate me and say Yes you def have Hashimoto;s and it comes with cfs symptoms and muscle aches and weakness. 22 years to get validated. This Dr cannot help me but with videos like this I am the only one who can help me. I was treated apallingly by specialists my family Dr sent to me to. Would never wish that on anyone.

      How did you do w/ it? I'm starting to look into the Alignment Recovery Program. It's through a man named Daniel, who recovered from severe CFS. He was interviewed here. His program can be free, as he goes on donations and apparently some who pay it forward and can pay extra for those too sick to afford it. I'm having a hard time getting launched, as so many do. Depression is my biggest enemy lately.

    • @RaelanAgle
      @RaelanAgle  2 года назад

      I imagine it varies depending on where you live. For me - in Canada my GP first tested me for Lyme and it came back negative. Then i worked with a private doctor who ordered more comprehensive testing and that came back positive for Lyme.

    • @claudiagoodelltv
      @claudiagoodelltv 2 года назад

      @@RaelanAgle My U.S.A. experience was similar to Raelan's. I had a tick bite in the early 1990's, but did not go to the doctor. Years later when searching for a diagnosis to cover ALL my symptoms, my GP did a Western Blot test, and told me the test was negative, which I wrongly interpreted to mean that I did not have Lyme disease. I did not understand how the test results are interpreted, and that interpration matters. Then in 2012 I saw a Lyme literate neurosurgeon who also practices holistic medicine. She said I clearly had chronic Lyme disease and met the ILADS diagnostic criteria. The ILADS guidelines state "Stated simply, laboratory results can support the diagnosis but cannot, in isolation, make or rule out the diagnosis of Lyme disease." and "Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis based on the history and physical findings, and supported by appropriate laboratory tests when they are indicated". It's a very tricky thing.

    • @RaelanAgle
      @RaelanAgle  Год назад +1

      Hi Barbara,
      Thanks for your comments, they are of course valid but there are a couple of things here to consider. I write this not only to you but to the other people who chose to leave this same comment on multiple videos of mine. (I will paste this there also.)
      I believe there is just a communication breakdown of knowledge between us.
      RUclips channel renters (like me) no longer have much control over Google Adsense ads or channels, they now put them (adds) up on pretty much whenever they want to. Channels that didn't used to qualify or request adds before, now, even they get them (without getting paid anything until their stats qualify them.) 🤷🏻‍♀️
      Short version: we are mostly at RUclips's mercy :) And perhaps most importantly, the overwhelming majority of us here are trying to at least break even financially, but at the end of each month are often at a deficit.
      It would be such a dream to provide all of these books, virtual courses & webinars, RUclips videos, blog posts, social posts, websites, and coaching for free. But we are tying to take what we are passionate about - supporting others, and make that our living. Long-term, if we rely on people to put in 20-40 hours per week for free, it won't be sustainable and we will without a doubt loose these forms of valuable support and information.
      Thank you for your understanding! I get this a fair but but this one response right here will likely be the only one I provide. All my best to you,
      Raelan 😊

      @@RaelanAgle Hi, thank you for taking the time to respond. I hope you understand my comment is an outcry for making a change that would make your valuable efforts available to people in a decent way. I have no experience with posting on you tube, but would like to offer an example of Dr John Campell channel - he posts practically every day with very high quality material and has over 2 millin followers. Dr Campell explained, that he only allows for advertising at the beginning at at the end, not disturbing the narrative. He also earns money through it, so perhaps this is something you could look into (and not accept things just as they are, none of us should just go along, I think). Perhaps you already have and things are different in the states as in Europe, I don't know, but I do wish we could somehow fight this. Wishing you all the best, Barbara
