I found your video looking up Copper sulfate logs cause I found a 1920s recipe from my grandmother. She was using 4# blue stone or copper sulfate, 3#rock salt, 1 gal of water. Soak paper logs for 3 or 4 weeks then dry before burning in fireplace

If its heaten high enough, yes. Mostly in pyrotechniks powder is still in use but there are other substances of copper that are more effectife
