“come on then, cause this is all I got left” well we just witnessed another hardcore line from isaac
If you do the secret alternate ending in ng+ he says "It showed me what i have to do, you cant stop me!" And its cold asf. At least thats as close as i can get based of my terrible memory.
I love how Charlie complains about the necromorphs being silent when he plays with 1 ear in
So for complete clarification, Kendra was sent to retrieve the marker to bring to EarthGov, not Aegis 7 or Earth itself. When she says they can make Aegis 7 disappear again, they mean they’ll take it off the map, history or block it off entirely, like they did hundreds of years prior. Isaac is being influenced, and ultimately misled, by “Nicole”, Kyne and the marker, being led to believe returning it to the planet will cease the Necro pandemic. This is the Markers own influence on the survivors themselves since it wishes to return to the pad to project its signal planet wide. So Isaac and company are operating off of false intel and not the whole picture. The Hive Mind is actually also capable of emitting a signal to control and produce necromorphs but doesn’t pose as big a threat as the marker itself.
Kendra goal was to retrieve the marker and erase all evidence of the ishimura and aegis 7.
The marker wanted to be returned to its pedestal to boost its signal to gain enough powwr to forcibly burn a marker blueprint into all nearby survivors brains so they can build a new marker, while also expanding the dead zone to deactivate all necromorphs to allow the survivors with the blue print a chance to escape. (The red marker needed to absorb its creator to start convergence. With its creator dead, it could never start convergence, so it's goal was to have a new marker made which can absorb its creator and start convergence. )
The hive wind was a weaponized creation from the orginal aegis 7 colony when they were testing the marker that became self aware. It was to be used in conuction with the marker to expand the marker signal across the planet by using its body. Without the marker its able to control itself as well as all necromorphs in its presence.
This was one of those games where, when I saw it came out and a bunch of people were playing it, I immediately just decided to play it myself, so glad I did. What a baller remake. I hope they're able to improve 2 and 3 in terms of staying horror focused.
play DS2 its wayyy better
@Mixed AfriCasian gypsy dead space 2 is better then dead space 1 in almost every way but the horror, the first game is so terrifying on your first run through so much so I have not experienced it in another game
DS 2 is really just Uncharted 2 horror spooky edition. That’s not a bad thing mind you, easily some of the most memorable set pieces in horror game history. Also if I remember correctly it only had like a 1 cut in the entire game making it one of the first mostly seem less gaming experiences I can remember. If there is one thing they could fix in 2 is the last boss, shoot ghost Nicole was a wack ending fight.
I agree on 3 losing its identity being less on horror and became more of a gears of war tactical shooter spooky edition type of game but dead space perfectly nailed being a good balance of survival horror and action horror just like resident evil 4 without it feeling to over the top or to much
@Mixed AfriCasian gypsy probably different opinions. Shocking i know but that happens sometimes
Seeing him just beat a necromorph to death reminded me of in Chapter 4 where all I did was smack a necromorph to death and it crashed my game lol
I just finished impossible mode, dead space remake is everything i hoped for
Man I made it all the way to the valor on impossible but died tragically
@@thefreshprince310 what killed you?

3:27:47 I really think Charlie only says this because he knew this scene was coming and was anticipating it the entire time. There was pretty much no way it could surprise him unless they changed what happened. I'm sure players who are playing Dead Space for the first time with this remake think that ending scene is still a great surprise.
Bro this just came out 18 minutes ago, why are you already at the end?
@@Kadeo-ms6qw Because I didn't feel like watching a three and half hour video just to see Charlie's thoughts on the game after he beat it.
The original was way better, in the original Nicole was hiding behind the seats, so you could see just a fraction of her head, looking at you in the dark, then the jumpscare that if you couldn't see her through the dark, you get shit scared. In the remake, with her being full visible, it looses a lot of the tension an horror
@@jesusmariotti3710 Well, I completely disagree, the scene still works very well in the remake.
@@jesusmariotti3710 Maybe it lost tension because you already knew what was coming. But I get your point, it was more in your face and paranormal in the original.
Yeah this boss fight was a great conclusion to the game it flowed better in the remake than the original, although aiming for the weak spots was a nightmare!!! but I think that was the point overall iconic boss fight.
and now you can walk to the edge and actually see how damn tall the hive mind is! its crazy tall.
I found that using the contact beam made it easier to hit the weak spots
@@Swordsoulreaver I reaally dont like how they slowed down rotating your weapons. it is easily 2x slower in the remake. and the aggressive auto aim blows!
@@justinfleming5908 You can turn auto-aim off, that's what I did. By rotating, do you mean switching between them? I did feel like that was slower than the original.
Love how Charlie keeps complaining about getting flamethrower ammo like the game doesn’t give you ammunition based off of what weapons you’re using/have in your load out
I have noticed the game gives you more flamethrower than anything else
@@Sm0k3turt its proportional to damage output and how much is in your inventory
49:57 the noises the monster made here were fukkin hilarious
2:04:44
This exchange just made me realize that Charlie's natural speedrun tendencies of optimized turns, quick camera tilting, and "smooth moves" makes him used to a quick playstyle which for many may seem as him simply going through the motions in an efficient manner without taking in the atmosphere or environment.
It really does make a difference when a person envelops the character through their motion capture, rather than gaming the system by finding little tricks to avoid the natural but repetitive actions someone tends to just do without realizing it.
But I guess its sometimes best to not extend a game longer than they feel the playtime is.
I don’t remember the last time he actually played a game to take it in instead of just playing it to get through it
@@SuperbChicken yeah god of War he blasted through most of it
"If anyone else stumbles across Aegis VII" is refering to the Necromorph outbreak that is still going on down there (cause that's where it all started) and the Hive Mind. Not Kendra returning the Marker to Aegis VII.
Isaac wants to return it to Aegis VII cause he beliefs it will stop any Necromorph activity, Kendra was sent by EarthGov to retrieve it so they can blast it off to some other Planet.
The section where everyone kept trying to understand the plot was infuriating.
For real, it seriously wasn't that confusing.
“Power restored to central genorator”
Aliens: iiiiight ima head out…
😂 😂😂
haha when Charlie pulled out the force gun I was like about damn time, that was my only weapon when I ran through hardcore
Yeah people say the plasma cutter is the best but when you upgrade the force gun you can turn the whole game into cake
I played the entire game with just the plasma cutter, seemed like the best gun I just maxed out upgrades
It’s the best all-around weapon: great accuracy, good fire rate, high damage, and long range.
Some weapons are better at crowd control, raw damage output, or ammo efficiency, but most fall short of the plasma cutter in every other category.
I still like using the other weapons, though. There are a lot of fun and interesting combat options when you mix and match different weapon load outs.
Ripper IMO
What difficulty?
Ripper and Plasma Cutter are all you need to beat the game pretty much
Does he have blinders on? Exploration is like half the fun of this game
Kendra was probably talking about the whole thing when she mentioned "disappearing" it, including the planet itself if we assume the events of Dead Space: Aftermath are still canon.
She'd probably have called in another EarthGov ship to destroy the Ishimura, and with it gone the chunk of rock it had pulled off of Aegis VII would have nowhere to go but down. According to Dead Space: Aftermath, the impact of that rock with the planet is enough to destabilize it, and eventually result in its destruction. Even if it didn't completely destroy it, it would likely have impacted the outbreak area with enough force to stop the Necromorphs from being a problem in the future.
Twitter the hive mind
When you left all that loot on the ground, you broke my heart.
I felt that realization on the hive mind hanging section
"I was at half health and that thing one shot me too" CHARLIE YOU'VE BARELY UPGRADED THE HEALTH STAT 😭
My God the understanding the marker part pissed me off so much. The red marker was created by people who were affected by the black marker (like Isaac) on earth and was placed there by earthgov on 7 for experimentation. EarthGov knew the marker was releasing a signal, but that signal was believed to be a source of renewable energy, but that signal could also create necros. As to why they left it on the planet fucking beats me, but all I know is that the pedestal it is placed on amplifies the dead space signal the marker creates to keep dead tissues from forming over it so it doesnt block the signal the marker is giving out to contact other necro moons that the planet is ready to be devoured (thats why the necros slow down near it) Kendra/EarthGov wants to hide the marker away for further expirementation, the captain/crew of the Ishimura wanted to take it back home for worship, and the marker wants to be put back because the Devs only know why (something to do with mans drive to destroy nature), also it has influenced Isaacs mind enough to allow him to create another marker on earth so earth can be consumed. If Isaac made another marker and it consumes him it would cause a convergence event. Here's a summery if anyone was interested on what the fuck was going on 2 hours and 30 minutes in
It scares me charlie just writes over his old saves i always have 2 save slots and i alternate saves so i always have a non corrupted backup
Me looking at your back and realizing you HAVENT UPGRADED YOUR RIG NEARLY AT ALL?!?!??! HAHAHAA
I used the contact beam and force gun. Violated everything in my way.
Great Remake 👍
I think og Hive Mind sounded better specifically whenever it roared.
This mf takes 6-7 hrs to finish the game while my sorry ass is 14 hrs in and just got to the cargo bay :,(
LOVE YA CHARLIE MAN💯💯
OK how did litterally everone seem to miss that Daniel's litterally said she's rerouting the destination to aegis llV. LITTERALLY telling us that's not where Kendra was going
les go more dead space
3:15:15 I heavily Agree
So, Hammond sending the escape pod with the necromorph was a REALLY BAD idea, as shown, so of course that was a stupid decision, as no one but the three there know how to properly kill one. Hammond's death, happened because the Marker caused him to see Chen as normal, instead of the literal monster he is. he couldn't just push Chen off because the Necromorph blades were literally sticking all the way through, dude was mortally injured. At least it wasn't as insane and brutal as it was in the original game, because man, that was just unfair
Didn't he get stomped on by a brute?
@@mando_dablord2646 man's got destroyed by a brute

@@zemanarab same but I still love the game. Thankfully they did seem to fix the game crashes
Bro played on medium difficulty and was short on ammo the whole game, shame Charlie, shame.
Not the whole game.
This is what I got from the conversation:
The red marker being present on the planet is suppressing the necromorphs on the planet because this is where the hive mind is. Suppress the hive mind, necromorphs become a non-issue because there's suddenly no greater sentience directing the things.
If Earthgov takes the red marker anywhere else, like to a NEW world to bury it forever, the necromorphs on Aegis VII can remain a perpetual threat that could spread to wipe out humanity the next time anyone finds Aegis VII
So Daniels wasn't returning it to Aegis VII, but to a NEW bolthole elsewhere in the universe to bury it in per her orders, wherever that might be. Aegis VII is already compromised, ISAAC is the one who wants to return it to Aegis VII.
Too bad this doesn't mesh with the chapter 12 scenes, so I'm just calling it bad writing.
No. Just no. Basically everything you said was wrong. I'm on mobile right now so I can't type it out for you but I can later.
lol the red marker is made by humans. the black marker is the real one idiot
@@ForgedHorizons well, we’re waiting…
@@Tiddlywinks4444 I'm not the other guy, but in reality the marker doesn't surpress the hive mind or the necromorphs. Returning the red marker was what the marker itself wanted and was pursuing by manipulating Isaac and Cross. Returning it would actually allow the opposite, it could emit a much stronger signal and begin a convergence event.
Daniels did want to take it away and bury it somewhere else where no one would ever find it, as she says, they made it dissapear once before, they could do it again. So in actuality Daniels was a bit of a saviour here by taking the marker back away and preventing Isaac from dooming humanity.
Not entirely though considering the future games, but she tried.
Hope we can get a good dead space movie One day
I don’t, they would just fuck it up.
maybe an animation or live action series (with a really big budget)
The closest you're gonna get is Event Horizon.
They do! There are 2 dead space animated films!
Dead Space:Downfall
And
Dead Space: Aftermath
Dead Space downfall accounts how the Ishimura became compromised by the Marker (lots of gore and good atmosphere)
Dead Space Aftermath tells the story of 4 survivors from The Ishimura, each from different perspectives/ animation styles.
It’s not super scary, but it is very interesting and fun to watch!
@@Kadeo-ms6qw apparently John Carpenter has been interested in making a dead space movie for years so you know if he does direct it it’s gonna be good

Remake is good. It adds details in many ways. But there are small details I think are better in the original. The core gameplah was iconic in the first 3 games and the modern movement in the remake doesn't feel exactly like dead space. It's more of a regular 3rd person game with the camera zoomed in.
I don’t think it’s that different. I replayed the first game before the remake and it plays basically the same besides the TK throwing and the walking animation being different
The movement function wise is the exact same
@@MaiCaulk no its not. Isaac walks way faster. And the animations make him feel less heavy
