- OK SO SOME NOT NORMAL VIBRATIONS STARTED AND NOW SOME CLICKING ON START UP AFTER DIAGNOSING I GUESSED THE FLYWHEEL FAILED BECAUSE ITS A DUAL MASS SO I BOUGHT THE CLUTCH MASTERS SINGLE MASS FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH KIT WITH BOLTS AND SLAVE/THROW OUT BEARING ASSEMBLY AND NEW FLUID HERE IS WHAT I FOUND AND THE INSTALL OF THE NEW CLUTCH
Thanks for sharing! Good vid to see what you're up against for a flywheel/clutch job on these cars. Think I'll stick with my SRT-4 and PT GT's!
I’m with you on that the dual mass flywheel was definitely a failure on them this car is just a daily
So far the best clutch and flywheel video iv seen for the darts .... that aluminum fly wheel creates clutch chatter it normal , but it makes huge difference in drive ability clutch delay valve helps to if you ever change it literally makes it feel like a honda civic gear box
Holy hell that transmission was NASTY......another great video Matt, keep 'em coming!
Yea and then some I never seen anything like this some of my research on a dual mass in like vw and the like some will actually grind into the bell Housing ..
@@Mattsneedforspeed Yeah I'm kind of surprised there wasn't some sort of catastrophic failure with all that gunk buildup....
I woulda got so mad so many times you kept ur cool
this was just a mess....
This video made me subscribe
Great video man
Appreciate it
they should have made an SRT version of this. Missed the ball if you ask me. Car has decent styling, and probably would have attracted new customers to dodge.
Absolutely I know neon owners who sold expecting to get the srt4 version of this I like my 2016 black dart gt
Hey Matt you wouldn't happen to have a spare set of srt4 shifter cables you can sell me do you?
I have a question, even with the vibration due to the flywheel, were you still able to engage in gear?
My dart currently isn’t engaging in gear n is vibrating
Thought it was a clutch problem until I opened it up n have the same movement on the flywheel
yes it would still drive and shift with no issues, no clutch issues other then the oem flywheel failed i would suggest oem replacement parts as the clutch-masters clutch has been nothing but problems
I saw in other comments you didnt like the flywheel. What issues did you have with it other than install?
hello, funny you comment as im getting ready to remove the clutch as it has failed already the flywheel needed ground so it would fit in the crank center i can add it does give the clutch a more grabby feel and i thing it helped improve over all mpg 2-3 per gallon but i curious to see how it held up as its acting like all the others i've seen in the nsrt4's i've driven the disc was toast plate and fly wheels looked new lol ill have it pulled this week and a video up soon
How many miles did it last? I bought the fx250 and the aluminum flywheel it costed me 1040 and I'm nervous I wasted my money lol
Where can I get a dual clutch for 2013 Dodge dart ?
for a manual i'm pretty sure a twin disc is not made for an auto id look for an oem replacement
Did you remove the passenger cv joint from the transmission? Thanks
Yes both cv axels need to be removed to pull the transmission
Its been a couple years but do you have any tips getting the transmission alligned back into the input shaft? Shes fighting me the whole darn way
it took some time do your best to get the engine and trans evenly spaced all the way around ill use long screw drivers to help align them then wiggle it together ill get bolts started and wiggle more till its seated to the engine before tightening the bolts. i'm at 146k and this clutch has stared slipping was nothing but problems since install made chatter noises ill be making a video review on it car is adult driven daily mostly highway but take your time getting them to line up is the worst part of the job
@@Mattsneedforspeed Appreciate it! 👍
This car doesn't seem to like lightweight flywheels. From what I've read you do get lots of chatter. Really wanted to get one but decided to go oem SACHS
I'm replacing at 85k. Clutch pad was nearly at the rivets. Master cylinder, slave/throw out bearing, pressure plate and flywheel were ALL shot. My only symptoms were the throw out bearing rattling and of course pedal issues which was very surprising considering how bad everything else was.
The clutch SHOULD NOT be going this early. Although I purchased at 74k with no idea what the owner did to it prior.
@@TREKLlN every thing i've read stated 60-80k miles for this clutch the disc and pressure plate from this car still looked good and will be going back in with the single mass flywheel i wish i would have just got the oem replacement as the clutch masters was just trash..

@Mattsneedforspeed Finally got the transmission in and everything together. Screwdriver trick worked! Never broken in a brand new clutch but the pedal is uncomfortable soft compared to before. I've seen this gets better but curious what your pedal felt like after you did the install. I think I misunderstood, what issues did you have with the fx100 clutch in itself? I put the same one in
You've been a great help with this project 👍
@@Mattsneedforspeedhow did the smf end up being?
How did that single mass flywheel work out for you?
well other then having to modify it to fit having over 40k miles now the fuel mileage increased to 33 from 28 on regular fuel it is more grabby still over stock
Wish you in Michigan
too cold of winters, pa is still a little to far north depending on the year..
why didn't you change rear main seal while you were in there ?
No need was not leaking, 70k miles everything you see in the transmission bell is from the flywheel
Can i use a 6speed automatic transmission from a 2.0l dodge dart on a 1.4 multiair turbo engine?
I just don’t know enough about them to say yes or no sorry
@@Mattsneedforspeed thank you sir
Doupt it...
@@justayoutuber6183 damn, seems like i will have to down grade to a 2.0l engine aswell. Its just sad that a Freaking used automatic transmission for the 1.4l costs 3grand. U can literaly get a engine and transmission for 2.0 and 2.4 a 3rd or half that price
Anyone know what it cost total for a clutch including labor on the dart ?
You can check out modern performance.com for the prices on the parts labor costs will very depending on location
Including labor your looking almost 2500
