If you are a AA or AAA studio and your not animating your final boss then the game may not as good as the people want to be. 2. There are quite a few bugs in Mafia 3. The only major bug I had was when finishing taking over a district, I had to restart the game 'cause it was stuck on a loading screen. Other than that, the bugs didn't really interrupt my enjoyment of the game. And I did enjoy it! :)

When he blew his own brains out I immediately reloaded the last checkpoint and THANK GOD i still got a chance to kick him out of his damn window. All this time and effort to see him commit suicide? No way.

This sequence represents the game perfectly. So many cool little ideas with the directional executions, but also hopelessly bogged down with bugs and flaws

It's programmed so that the animation plays, his model gets some fancy effects, and he's killed on trigger. If you were to alter the code, he could shoot and live, not shoot and die a bloody mess, or any other mix between these. There's no hitscan and no damage, just visuals. Shooting him yourself is different, mainly because Sal is probably classed as a unique version of a boss character. Chances are they just copy-pasted the code for a boss and altered it slightly to fit the scene. Bosses have more health than regular goons, and don't die. They stagger when shot in the head the first couple times, then they just go into that "wounded" state where you can execute them. Sal is most likely a modified version of this where he starts out in the "wounded" state. Only issue is they probably forgot to set his health down to the minimum possible. If this is the case, shooting him would create a conflict where he should be in the wounded state, but has enough health to fight, so he ends up standing while still playing through parts of his vocal script. He isn't set to get out of the chair until dead, so the chair remains attached to his model until he either gets yeeted or tests out Kurt Cobain's microphone. The latter half is all speculation though. I can't be bothered to try and rip the game's code to find out if I'm in the ballpark or not, but it seems to be the likeliest answer, especially given how the game was rushed out the door. Hell, maybe this all can give some insight into how not to fuck up if someone here ever makes a game. Adios amigos.

I felt like they did rush it and could have done more things like clothes, cars, buying properties and etc... But overall this is UNDERRATED hands down ‼‼ Hope if they reboot this I hope they take there time and designing the world more better and making environment feel more alive‼
Actually, I think I was able to replay the mission over and over again, unless they've changed it since then. Or I re-used a backup save game (I can't remember...) I ain't that crazy to replay the game that many times over...there are other video games in the sea (to play) ;)
This game had the potential to exceed the GTA franchise. The story alone stands above and beyond any GTA storyline. It also featured some of the most memorable gaming missions I’ve ever seen. It’s too bad it developed correctly. A few delays would have been a small price to pay for a masterpiece game.
Just finished my first play through of Mafia 3 and in that room they blocked the use of any weapons the moment you go up the elevator. Guess they just decided that would be the easiest way to stop those glitches. Edit: I rarely encountered glitches. Most of them were just visual bugs but nothing game breaking.
