Hey Juliet, you can take the habit of rinsing your mouth with water each time after eating gels/sugar while riding. It won't solve the issue but it will help a bit not keeping too much sugar for too long in your mouth ;)
My oral hygienist told me to rinse my mouth after eating anything.

I've recently gone from 25c to 28c tyres and can't believe the difference and won't be going back to 25 and possibly may go up to 30. Also gone from rim to disc brakes and won't be going back to rim anytime soon!

Wrong on all counts - carbon bikes, hydraulic discs, electronic shifters are for product consumers. Most people cannot do maintenance on hydraulic systems, cannot fix creaks on carbon frames and have no clue what to do if their electronic shifting systems start having problems. Mobile phone call to bike shop… help! They just move from one new thing to another before it goes wrong. Just like renting cars on a 3 year scheme. Get a new one every 3years. How do you open the bonnet - mobile phone call to car dealer. And so it goes on… sleepwalking into a world where we consume the planet’s resources in the pursuit of more RUclips views.
That takes leaving a breadcrumb trail to the extreme!😅🤣 You guys made me laugh out loud!

Great video Juliet. As always thanks for bringing us along. I live in the north of east of the USA but I grew up in Cheshire. My preference is for the Peak District and the lanes of Cheshire.

I have done the tarka trail on a hot sunny day with Appledore across the water it was Fantastic And I am from Yorkshire.

Wth I went to Dartmoor for the weekend and 3 youtubers I watch were there and I missed them I even stopped off at mortonhampstead hope you had a good time like me I can see Katie loved it.
I did LEJOG in 2020 on the tarka trail fully loaded on rim 25s - it was perfectly fine... however i was on gators lol
listening to this and it's always interesting to hear ( and see in the comments also) which people are in the 25mm camp and which say 25c. it's like the c moves around depending on the people using it, 700cx25 or 700x25c. which is funny as it was 700c that was a size, but people running 700c x25 are not running 700c haha.
anyway. loved the video as always.

I have short hills and inclines at 5200 ft just in my hood , went for a short ride. My heart got to 170. I don't like it that high because then im exhausted for rest of day maybe two

It depends on the train. You pretty much always need to book your bike onto Intercity trains. It’s a pain, there are hardly any bike spaces and they’re usually already booked. Then there’s no space for your bike and you can’t get on the train anyway. With local trains it’s a little easier and that’s what we caught in this video

Actually I'm not ready to give up on Dartmoor just yet as I'm holding out hope there must be views and sights we haven't yet appreciated;
I'm not giving up!
Besides, I would give the Alps the golden medal as the N.1 location to come and cycle in that the longest the climb, the highest the viewpoint the better the views will turn out to be.
Altitude is my favourite place to be!

It is the snacking in between meals which means more chance for tooth decay as you have sugars in your mouth nearly constantly when you are riding. Hard not too as you need the energy for riding. As you ride so much (I assume) it is a tricky conundrum. Who would give up riding? I had a crown fitted yesterday!

Dales all the way Juliet, can't even compare them in the same sentence lol ;-) I think you should get Kookaburra to show you the great North, including Dun fell. Hope your soon feel better that HR looked high for that road, hope its not the old corana seems to be doing the summer rounds for some reason.
Tyres i use to run 25's for years, for the last 5 been running 30 or 32's for road and would never, ever go back. For me its a much better ride, feels better, and well after trying many i always go back to the GPs, currently 5000s. Rim breaks yikes no thanks, never been a fan in the rain, plus if your running Carbon wheels then why would you! There is a reason all the teams have moved over to disc, they are just better in every sense. I first rode with them on a Cannondale Cross setup 15 years or more ago, actually swopped out the hardtail for drop bars, prior to "gravel" being a fashion. Again would never go back to rim through choice.

Yes, Katie has a Manchester accent, mine is a bit more southern I guess, although I actually didn’t live that far from Katie until after the age of 16. I moved around a lot after that and never had a strong accent anyway
