After following you for a while now, and meeting you last year, I have been featured in one of your videos. Thanks for putting a smile on my face today. xxx
Thanks for taking us on such a FUN ride! Even though I train at a very high fast level, I ALWAYS use a small speaker on my bars for music, calls & of course, listening to your videos! I use a GARMIN 840 & a 500 simultaneously along with radar & power meter & still know I haven’t found out all the Garmins can do. Cheers from the USA Katie!
Me, the Mrs and my 3 boys all just sat down and watched this. We even spotted me at the start so they think I’m famous now! Haha. Was great meeting you Sunday! Brilliant video as always, can’t wait for next year!
It looks like such a brilliant event! Definitely want to get involved next year. I did my first sportive in the New Forest last September. Camped amongst the trees and said hi to all the roaming animals on the way round. 😄 What a special place to ride!
God bless you for showcasing this wonderful fundraiser and I so lo e Garmen for their supportive manner to a well deserved charity that helps so many❤😊
Love ❤️ this day - thank you for the selfie with the fan girl (and for inviting me to ride with you… I thought I’d hold you back, but seeing that “find my friends” feature on the new #Garmin #Edge, I will next year!). Your energy, passion and enthusiasm are an inspiration - enjoy the Dolomites! Sarah x
This was one of my first cycling events being new cyclist. It was an amazing event and there was a great sense of community. Didn’t get to say hello but thanks for the content. It has helped me loads with getting into cycling
It was a great experience and big thanks to Garmin for organising this amazing event. It was great to catch up with you Katie and thank you for your support and advice before and after the ride. Enjoy next weekend Tour de Femme.
Great Video Katie, nice to see you towards the end of the day. Enjoy your trip to France and hopefully this time you’ll get some cheers as you climb the Alpe d’Huez 👏 and maybe see you down in GC next spring for a ride up Soria? 😉🌞🚴🏽♂️😎
Ahhh we were waaaayyyy too shy to say hello but somehow still ended up in the background of your video. You captured us falling in love with Chris Hall because he saluted my implementation of the ultimate Kookaburra special: wolftooth + dinner plate gears 😂🎉
Loved this ride again. Great ride organised by a great team for a great cause. Life goal achieved to see Katie & Francis sail past me on the final climb 🤩
Really enjoyed this video Katie. I'm a Garmin girl but I've never been to the New Forest and nor did I know of this charity. I'm returning back to cycling having been unable too for a year due to injuries and its slooowww, so I am setting goals and I will add this as a long term goal for next year. Reminder of cyclists being such a friendly bunch too❤❤
I did this ride for the first time this year and can definitely say i will be back next year, It was great to meet you Katie and have a selfie with you and i have to say you are lovely on screen and lovely off screen thank you.
Crikey I wish I’d known you were out in the forest i would have struggled out, alas i was laying gravel grids in the garden, the forest is brilliant and mostly flat👍 I can ride 100 mile circuit and only hit one set of lights, great weather most of the year
I live in Utah and do mountain biking. I mtn bike only safe trails and dirt roads and also safe, lightly traveled urban areas. Could you please tell me why you chose to ride a road bike instead of a mountain bike? I am thinking of switching and I am curious your opinion on the advantages of a road bike.
Hi Katie, I have just recently started following your channel and you have greatly inspired me to plan a Europe climbing ride soon. I am in the market for a new endurance bike and I am wondering if you have any thoughts around the best choices. I am leaning toward an aluminum frame, something like a Canondale Synapse with Shimano 105. My preferences would be comfort with the occasional speed trek. Not looking for perfection here, just your thoughts around what has worked well for you.
I ride these roads often as on my doorstep, but I still do it every year. Chief car park volunteer each year. May even start wearing some stupid outfits to bring more smiles
Great video but Garmin have really annoyed me in basically downgrading previous products so quickly to sell new ones. A 1040 is just over two years old and already they are trying to brick it by not releasing new features. Utterly awful way to treat customers
Depends if the seat post is also made of carbon; many are not. The paste is used when carbon components come into contact with one another - designed to eliminate slip - in the case of saddle this means it doesn't slide down.
@@BikepackingAdventures Pretty sure the post is carbon. Never slipped yet, though the saddle angle had slipped going over a few bumps. I'm generally of the opinion that less is more and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Hey Ivor, thought you'd know that one. Essential if you use a carbon seat post, without it the seat post it liable to slide down. Personally I've never used a carbon seat post and don't plan to - it's just another thing can go wrong - keep it simple right?
Great video, you (this video and your recent Pyrenees tour ride series) influenced me to buy a Garmin 1050 tonight :) Thanks!
Always lovely to see you mate x
Quality day. Great to meet you mate and thanks for the flattering close up shots 🤣
My absolute pleasure 🙃 smashed that climb bud!
❤ big up Danny jones
@katiekookaburra me screaming at @daaaanjj was epic. Nice ride nice meeting you guys ❤️❤️❤️
What a heartwarming video. Great seeing so many enjoying it!

A sunny day, lovely people and an excellent cause ... what more can you ask for! Well done!

loving francis' lovebite!
All that information makes Chris feel ... umm informed. Also great to see him & Francis & GK Ben.

Great vlog showing the day. Thank you for letting me ride in your slipstream for a bit. My 1st Garmin ride out but it won’t be my last.

@@KatieKookaburra of course you are friends with Chris Hall. The two of you actually have very similar personas.
Great vid Katie. Great day as always. My 10th year. Lovely chatting to you after, thanks for the selfie. See you next year 😊
Awesome event! I love it when you say HELLO!
HELLOOOO!!! :) Glad you liked the event it's a highlight ride for me - socially great people and cracking route!
Second Garmin Ride, had another amazing day and was lucky to say hello to you at the end of the ride..... can't wait for Garmin Ride 2025 🙂
Me too!! Awww you’re so lovely thanks for being so nice. Let’s ride next year!!
That looks so much fun.
I feel like Francis Cade appears on other people's channels more than his own.
He's the big cheese now :)
Looks like a chilled day out in the sunshine.
It was my 1st Garmin Rideout and won't be my last, such a great day. Thanks for your advice about double dipping with regards to the Chamois cream!!!
🤣🤣🙈🙊
I follow Francis and Chris also. Nice group of people.
I met them while they did their trip across Australia and both are great guys
Glad you enjoyed the New Forest 🌳
Makes me like Garmin even more. I've had a few and the latest is a 1040 and I love it!
Can't wait to see Francis' version. It's also great to be championing health issues.
Funny to see the Huerzeler tyre bag I recognise from Mallorca.
What a great event. From Toronto with love.
So good, and the WEATHER??!! Back to rain today though :( booo!
I did this ride for the first time this year and can definitely say i will be back next year, It was great to meet you Katie and have a selfie with you and i have to say you are lovely on screen and lovely off screen thank you.
Awwwww thanks so much Rob :) so glad you enjoyed it - had such a great day and hope the selfie was ok 🙂🙂
Watching this whilst stuck behind my laptop doing some AutoCAD and now really want to head out on my bike lol
I have a Bluetooth speaker in the water bottle cage between my aerobars. I love it.

All my favourite roads.
Ah the new forest, never been, looks like a great place to ride bikes. =)

Aw man I wanted to do this this year after your video last year. Going to look at signing up now ❤

what is this gripper paste? i am new to garmin how do you get heart rate on it?
Increases surface friction to reduce slippage and prevents seizing
Reduces required tightening torque on handlebars, stems and seat posts
My favorite part was the donkey 😊
Ah I knew it was you, when we passed by the horses outside a shop and you were discussing the new group feature 🤣 3:19
Jack is a lovely father, wishes to him and his family from my hearth
It was a great route, with fantastic weather and all for a good cause. The guest speakers were also top draw!
is that a love bite on francis' neck? lol
Ben talking about food. lol
Rare footage of Francis Cade riding a bicycle 😮
Good morning? Good morning?!
What the hell kind of greeting to another video is that?! 😂
6:12 thats a gamer hack so i dont get key, mouse ,gamepad greasey ( refuel and game on!)
that could be also why im concentrating on bike stuff :)
Whaaaat!
❤❤
I love how you English get so excited over the sun and then complain if it gets over 30 C. Looks like a fun day and good cause.
Ay I want it hot all year you won't hear me complaining of heat. ALL THE SUN PLEASE!
2:35 check that guys saddle height
I ride these roads often as on my doorstep, but I still do it every year.
Chief car park volunteer each year. May even start wearing some stupid outfits to bring more smiles
Would it be an issue if one used a Wahoo on this ride?
As long as it's a Roam V1 with the delaminating screen 😉
Must be nice for Ben to meet a legend like you Katie 😊❤❤🚴♀️

Dear Doctor, I've had a carbon bike for 12 years and never applied "carbon gripper paste" . Should I be worried?
Depends if the seat post is also made of carbon; many are not. The paste is used when carbon components come into contact with one another - designed to eliminate slip - in the case of saddle this means it doesn't slide down.

"It's so windy on the stretch. How windy is it?"
"It's so windy...I used to have a beard!"
That festival has a lot of good vibes.
Is this ride an Opportunity to discuss faults with your Garmins and your wish that you bought a Wahoo !
What the F is gripper paste .
