Lining up edges first makes SO much more sense than struggling to align them after pinning the center!!! This is the best curved piecing tutorial out there.
Every single tip you have me in this video was so helpful. I always have problem with the curves and I didn't even think to mark where the needle is. I am one of those that do not adjust where the needle is. This is amazing, please make more videos. Thanks Deanna
So much easier! As you learn the feel you’ll be able to rely less and less on the “crutches” and just get after it! I do, to this day (as do factories), use the notches.
My nephew & I bought Singer machines at same time. He was highly motivated, plus just plain smart. I am slowly doing projects that solve small problem. He is constructing gear bags to his SAR team and they a durable & beautiful. He recently got a Sailrite for heavier gear. The Singer did very well but he maxed out the thickness and the walking foot had troubles on thick feeds.
Really like the simple bit size videos you've been putting out. Curves can be a pain in the as if it's your first time sewing and can be really discouraging, so I'm sure I speak for many when I say thank you.
Clips?!!!! Brilliant!! I have been avoiding revisiting sewing simply for the reason that pinning fabric was incredibly annoying, ineffective and painful. I randomly searched the words curvature sti- and stiches was a pre-searched option, lo’ and behold I found YoUr vid, NOW I feel excited to get out all my projects I shoved into the LATER pile and learn how to use the sewing machine I bought last year. Thank you! ...clips, not pins, clips... 💕
Good video, great explanations. It would be helpful to have a camera right at the needle as you sewed through the curve, showing exactly how you used use the tape guide.
I have watched countless videos that ALWAYS sew 1 piece of fabric! You used 2 canvas pieces & it ended up perfect! I love how you cut the tape! 😂 Great hints! You rock!
Where have you been?... all my sewing life? Thank you so much for all your hard work making these videos. I have found them very helpful, especially the AI tutorial.
Great tutorial! For the next one it would be cool if you went over some of the processes for sewing shoulder straps, for me I was having some difficulty working with spacer mesh
I love your technique here. I’m doing a tote bag with three colors combined on the exterior and the happen to be swooped curves. Great tutorial. I’m thinking I might French swam them as well with a contrasting stitch for extra pop.
Thanks for these tutorials! I am just starting out. Just bought a refurbished brother, and it's not working. all the stitches keep pulling right out. I'm going to try your bottom tension tutorial 🤞
🐨If you put the bigger surface on the bottom ie larger curve the yellow one the feed dogs will take up the difference between them if you are careful when feeding it thought☺
Great Video! I've been making Fanny Packs lately and I am having difficulties with sewing a non jagged curved top stitch. Any recommendations? Thanks!!
Hejhej, could you let me/us know what maschine you are using. I'd like to get a Industrialisierung sewing machine and am comparing different ones that come recommended or seem to do a good job before I invest so much money. I'd really appreciate it! All the best and happy New Year!
Oh nooooooooo, there was a (video-) cut when you started sewing, and deducing from the seam already sewn, there was quite a lot of sewing going on between those (video-) cuts. What a pitty, that part would've been also very helpful. Namely: how do you start your seams. Next time :D Thanks for the good tutorial!
1. You dont need a tape for seam allowance marker. The right side edge of the machine foot should be the proper seam allowance. This is how they work in the professional mass production. 2. First way to make it easy is cheating with seam length. When you design it, the lengths of corresponding seams are equal. However if you make the less rounded edge seam longer, it will be much easier, because seam allowance creates the stress area, and now you can stretch it easier. For example, for small radius of a rounded corner, for the corresponding straight part I add 2 mm for seam length. CLO 3D will show it ugly, but in real life it will work just fine. 3. Second way to make it easy is more notches! You did just three (ends of rounded area plus the center). Why waste time to find the centers of the small areas when you can create notches? Make six instead of three, for example. Also more notches will make it easier because more cuts on the fabric edge will let you stretch the stressed area easier.
Na. But I've been to plenty of knit manufacturers. Ideally you'd use a chainstitch so the stitch could stretch. But you could get away with a zig-zag stitch or a five thread serger (overlock).
@@BagBuff It'd be cool to see how you use your triple feed, I'm still thinking in "flat-bed" dimensions, so seeing a cylindrical arm in action could be interesting

Ah-ha, segmenting the sew, seemingly tedious BUT it makes so much sense and it works! Love the uniform-of-the-day . . . everyday!

This is the best tutorial I've seen on how to sew curves. Thank you.
I have been upholstery for 30 year . you made it alot easier to teach others

going to be sewing the edge around the bottom of a net and it seemed daunting but this video makes it seems so much more simple !
Thanks for taking the time to make these videos! I would love to learn how to do clean corners with binding tape.
Thank you! This was the only helpful video I could find sewing curves together. I got some clips and they work great for this
Yayyyy!!!

A bro that knows how to sew.
Awesome video.

I'd pin the ends first and then struggle with the center. The folding trick helped so much ty!
THANK YOU!! I was struggling to sew curves but these tips are so helpful!

That isn't how I have done it in the past, but will definitely be how I do it in the future! Great Work!
Thank you (from Germany) so much for all the tipps 🌸

This video was incredibly helpful and much needed. Thank you so much!
Can you please show us how to do it if there are two concave edges such as when sewing the brim onto a bucket hat? I struggle to this well. Thanks! :)
Great content Stephen! Sewing curves can be difficult-you make it look easy.
Really helpful, thanks! Glad I've been procrastinating on my Urban Flyer now :)

Did you fix it?
No. I had to send it back and I got a new singer heavy duty instead. I think there was something more going wrong with it.
Too bad that it didn’t show full circle sewing. It’d be nice to see one.
Thank you for sharing your talents and experience.
I learned plenty.
I've subbed.
thanks
Awesome, thank you!
Another great video x
Thank you so much for this! Appreciate your help a lot!

Amazing tutorial thanks for sharing
WONDERFUL! Thanks for sharing. : )
Superb. Can you make a video on round pillow?

Thank you!
Thanks!
Best way to sew a curve, is to straight. You can also clip the curves close to the seams before sewing
Definitely learned a bit, so thank you.
The music is extremely annoying however.
A close up of the needlework would be nice too.
But thumbs up..
Interested in learning how to topstich really tight almost 90 degree corners without snipping.

Thanks for the good tutorial!
How would you tackle sewing an almost had circle that’s only 1.5 inches? Is that too small/too tight? Should I just finish up that part by hand?
Cylinder arm, for sure. Otherwise, ya.... handstitch
Nice❗🤩❤️
Do you use walkingfoot machines if so can you do some tutorials with it
Is puckering a possibility with a curve and using a machine? Newbie here
Always

What does it mean if the material won’t move??
I wish the camera was on you right hand side for a better view but other than that super informative
Have you sewn a beanie?

Mach mal die Musik leiser dann versteht man dich besser. Sonst gut erklärt.
I think I missed something it looks like you were sewing a straight line and not a curve
@@BagBuff I am definitely gonna have to try that. Will that trick work for top stiching curves too?
Way harder than you make it look lol. Especially with a larger piece of fabric bunching up around you 😂
The camera isn’t close enough to see what you’re doing 😣
I know. Such a bummer. My new videos will be better!
I can't see what you doing!! Put your camera where i can see where u sewing next time..
It doesn't look like you are using a walking foot machine which kind of surprised me. Why aren't you?
I didn't notice it was needle fed until you said it. I'm currently looking at getting a new machine and was thinking of a needle feed
@@BagBuff It'd be cool to see how you use your triple feed, I'm still thinking in "flat-bed" dimensions, so seeing a cylindrical arm in action could be interesting
get to the point
got there eventually
