- Each of us are here on earth for a certain purpose. I believe God prepared me for this journey with Jon. Definitely not an easy one, but I know without a doubt I wouldn’t want Jon to have to go through this alone.
One of the most challenging aspects of being a caregiver to a love one with a brain injury is to remain patient in the process. Many times this process of healing takes time: in our case years. Watching the one I love go through this journey is heartbreaking at times, but it is my purpose to stand strong with love, no matter what obstacles we encounter or how long it takes to achieve milestone, I will stand right here with him.
When I released control and gave God the space for His hands to move mountains we found peace and joy in our new life. No matter the time it takes we trust & believe that God has gone before us and is guiding our way.

His progress is incredible. Seeing him smile is mesmerizing. I've went down the Johnny rabbit-hole and I never saw him smiling in the beginning. You can see his personality coming back more and more as time goes on. These are the heroes our children should admire.

As soon as he is able to walk and do his own small daily errands, the progress is going to skyrocket. It is always faster when you are not trying to do it as part of a training, but when it's a part of your natural being.

I really appreciate the third paragraph! A very good friend of mine from the Navy has Alzheimer's and his wife bailed out(divorced) on him right away when he was diagnosed. Thankfully, he and I know the Lord and see His divine plan and sovereignty through this world. There are no mistakes or accidents with God. He allows everything for His glory. Thank you for your faithfulness and your commitment to each other and to HIM!
You two sure know the meaning of true love. He sure made the greatest decision of his life as did she when you got married. Your dedication to each other is so refreshing. I wish you the best in your recovery and never ever give up. Stay safe.

Great job John! I binge watch videos about you both. I was moved to tears, not for pity rather for the love God has taught and given. I've had middle brain bleed and it fall very short of what your coming through, amazingly I might add, and have falled 20' shattered both feet. God has plans for people and it realized day by day and little by little. I walk now and with no hobble and pain is a thing I work at ignoring. John your an inspiration to me and I have no doubt God has a real plan for you. As you know now is short and forever is very long. I hope some day I have the honor to meet you. May God and his son continue to bless you both.
