This game is going to be an underrated gem on the switch. I remember playing the first one and having to max out all the different lives. I can't wait for the sequel
I never did max out all lifes because I got bored from all the harvesting or grind up magics. Still it was a game I did enjoy for atleast a couple hundred hours.

Update: Managed to find it on ebay for relatively cheap (as opposed to Amazon that wanted almost $100 and every game store that CLAIMED to have it in stock but didn't even have it in my state), so it should be here in a week. Very excited to play the original ahead of the second!!!

The game looks fun so far! Though I'm still really hoping the writing, exploration and story aren't taking a backseat to the island customization in this game, as those were some of my favorite parts of the first game

JFC this looks so good. My partner and I randomly picked the first one up on the 3DS years ago and it became one of our favourite games. Yearly we wondered why nothing more ever happened with it, so when it got annoucned we freaked out! So hype with all the updates coming!!!

Wish i have played much sooner, 'cause the experience during your travels and also crafting/gathering is so pleasant, that kinda reminds me the craft system on Final Fantasy 14 >D That's why i call this adorable rpg as Final Fantasy Life, haha

I really hope this has new areas to explore like the 3ds game, going to the different countries and getting new materials was one of my favorite parts of the game
Hyper-realistic graphics are the only good graphics. I want to see the pores oozing sweat beneath Pikachu's matted and crusty fur. Otherwise it's shit and I hate it
I am kind of worried that they replaced the charm of the goofy more varied characters in the old games with characters that all look kinda samey. But over all looks good.
Aw, I cant believe it got postponed for half a year at least😢 thought since it was at first scheduled for this year to release, it would be like first quarter 2024 or something😅 ah well, I wouldnt have been able to play it then anyway, since I'll be too busy getting used to taking care of two kids instead of one so by the time summer comes around I hopefully have a little more free time on my hands...then again, we'll see😂

I hope that part about making minigames easier was a translation error. All of them used to be only about pressing one button repeatedly or at the correct time etc. Please, don't ruin the sequel to my favorite 3DS game...
Only thing I'll say about the decorating side. Make sure the inside dimensions make sense for the house you have. That "mansion" was a joke. No rooms. No extra floors... Not even a secret basement or garden.
I kinda like SP being taken while running tho. It sure is a better QoL, but i like the many 'skills' we can get in a game, especially such a mundane thing such as running. I imagine with no SP consumed it will not be a skill anymore. And the better skill we have the less SP we'll take anyway. I think the better QoL would be less SP consumed overall.
As much as I adored the original game on 3DS I hope they add more unique music for the crafting jobs cuz as much of a legend as nobuo uematsu is as a composer I could not finish the crafting job quests cuz they used the same goofy jingle used in story quests for eeeeeeevery mini game and it just ended up frustrating me.

Fantasy life was a good game but the huge issue for me was the massive repetitiveness so i hope the new fantasy life brings a lot of new things to the table. Even though there are new 2 new lives to choose from but this new game just looks like a graphics overhaul But too many games over the years have been a disappointment so I'm not getting my hopes up cause it happens every time and I don't see a game breaking the curse any time soon unfortunately lol

0:22 Can we just talk about how ugly that graphic is? Like *_everything_* is wrong with it from a design perspective. The multiple different fonts, the unnecessary change of colors and use of double exclamation marks, the two tones of red just randomly put together, the arrow with the wooden texture, the embossed look on the text... it looks like it was designed by someone's nephew who just started playing with Photoshop CS3 back in 2008. This is concerning, because the art direction and the marketing of the game have not been good at all so far. Even the in-game graphics are too saturated and the textures look like overused, outdated assets.
Same. The 3DS game however is available very cheap and incredibly good. I've had more fun with it and spend more time on it than on any other game for the 3DS.
This is what I thought of the 3ds one until I got it. There's just something so addicting about it that I can't explain. One of my favorite 3ds games, easily in the top 5.

As someone who have played, and still play from time to time, the first game it warms my heart to see it getting a second game.
