The Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI has just launched! Prices below - Slavia 1.5 TSI Style MT - Rs 16.19 lakh Slavia 1.5 TSI Style DSG - Rs 17.79 lakh (Prices are ex-showroom)
some lowering springs, a good stage 2 ecu and tcu tune , valvetronic exaust , aftermarket air-intake and a some good bigger set of wheels . perfect build.
You do realise that the DQ200 can only support a maximum of 250NM Torque which the engine tune is already calibrated to, right?. That pretty much rules out the Stage 2 ecu remap 😁 and the aftermarket air intake unless its a stock replacement filter. Lowering springs with a good set of dampers and better wheels and tires should pretty much do the trick; Valvetronic exhaust is for ricers, lets spare the Slavia DSG, shall we?
The 1.0l variant is more preffered in my opinion because of its power and the gearbox, the space and features of comfort and convenience The big part of this car is the looks and the sharp road presence gives a upmarket feels to it.At last I can say I am in love with this car 😍😍
Pricing of Slavia is perfect and will pull in lot many customers. I think Skoda quickly learned from the pricing of Octavia which was somewhat higher than what it has to offer.
Octavia is real Skoda but not slavia. In Octavia you will get the feelings of heaviness of the parts and the original built quality and we can not easily compare with slavia. The reason of price difference is mentioned in my other comment.
DSG not perfect choice for start stop traffic, 1.0 with Torque converter automatic would be more reliable. Unless this traffic reason is just for telling the family, but really what you want is to be a Schumacher of the expressway, for pure driving fun DSG is the gearbox. Driving Skoda Rapid DSG since 2015, puts a smile on my face everytime I press the throttle and I forget the Rs 65000 paid for mechatronics replacement of the gearbox.
Beast of an engine! High hopes of sustained revival for the sedan lovers now. Some external visual differentiator for 1.0 vs 1.5 should have been offered though.
every reviewer predicted 18 to 22 lakh as ex showroom price. But even the top end is only 18 lakh. Still you're sayin it's pricey. Finishing in slavia is much better than kushaq. You should go see the car in person!
After so many years you are still the best anchor. I have a daily run of 60 to 70 km city traffic drive what would you suggestion to purchase 1litre or 1.5 ltr ? Which one is more mileage friendly
Actually, 1.5L will give you more milage if you drive it sedately...because of cylinder deactivation technology...also on highways at cruising speed like @100 KMph, 1.5 will run more relaxed compared to 1.0L because it doesn't have to work that hard like 1.0L, and if you have 3-4 passengers in the car, then the difference will be even more...! So you might get better fuel efficiency in 1.5L again...!
Sedans should work on adjustable air suspension sort of innovations for rough roads but also to cruise in highways low slung. the slavia 1.5 looks promising.
Oh wow. I really wanna get this 1.5 TSI, so waiting for that promotion desperately, lol. 2 concerns: 1. Got to get TDs of both the manual and DSG. The launch control in DSG concerns me, because my Venue iMT also has this issue where it won't rev beyond 1500 rpm during launch. That's a common problem with clutch wear control by manufacturers. 2. Have always looked away from sedans because of the low GC, but got to check it out in person to believe it.
I own Skoda rapid montecarlo. I checked this vehicle in person on launching date. I just felt it may be a value for money but the quantity is not as good as real Skoda parts....all are light weight body part of Indian made. You will never get the Skoda feelings in this vehicle.
I'm not sure what to make of the price. I mean for less than 1 lakh more you can get the Hyundai Elantra which being a segment above, is bigger, more spacious and as powerful as the Slavia 1.5.
Not sure how many Indian buyers would shell upwards of INR 22 lacs on this sedan when Harrier and Safari and other so called soft SUVs are in the same price bracket. Skoda could have made the pricing more attractive. I was really gunning for 1.5 ltr for myself but the pricing has instantly made me go away from Slavia and look for other options. After driving Honda City Automatic, a person like me would always prefer a faster 4 cylinder engine.
It packs the looks, features, performance, luxury and comfort which not all the SUV's offer. It won't sell like hot cakes, but it will surely change people's opinions about a dying segment now.
Name me a faster 4 cylinder engine at this price bracket ! I’m not talking about just the power output but real world acceleration timings . Nothing comes close in this segment , nothing . Neither does the harrier or safari .
@@gurnihal12 Mass market will mostly look into value for money. Am not saying its a bad car but most car buyers when signing the check will think from the mind rather than heart. As a car buyer am saying this. Rest if someone wants to spend 20+ lacs on a sedan then it's their choice.
@@sakrokz Agree that it won't sell much but that's what Skoda needs to aim. Sadly it is not been able to understand the market like Hyundai, Kia, Tata, Mahindra, Maruti and Toyota does. Even luxury car makers have a sound strategy to keep growing in Indian market.
The beeping is a regulatory requirement for new cars. The speed warning system is to beep an alert every 60sec above 80kph, and then continuously beep at speeds above 120kph. The Hyundai are nowhere as stable and confidence inspiring at high speeds.
ACT is the tech that all reviews skip explaining. Put it in cruise control at 120Kmph on expressway and see the mileage increase from 16 to 30 on this petrol sedan.
5:34 boot lining is badly cut and hinges uncovered. Check the Rapid, for how well such small details are well taken care of but not in Škoda’s Vision IN plan. Bad Skoda, bad
18-22 lacs for a rapid replacement!!!! Gosh Skoda is taking things too far. The Octavia was actually cheaper than this 5 yrs back. I understand inflation but this isn't justified really. In another 5 years superb will be 50+ and Octavia 40+
Never liked the rapid/vento(which were not rapid acceleration wise). But when all others are bringing slower sedans with puny engines, this is it. Hope the 1.5 dsg sells well and witout all the skoda troubles.

Good pricing for 1.5 TSI but their should be some diferentiation b/w 1lit nd this engine in terms of ground clearance nd interiors
great pricing I'd say
Not bad
Actually i like tall gears 🤣👍🏻
And ground clearance is like an SUV
Between Red and Blue, which one is a better looking colour as per your personal preference?
some lowering springs, a good stage 2 ecu and tcu tune , valvetronic exaust , aftermarket air-intake and a some good bigger set of wheels . perfect build.
You sir have just made a Slavia VRS😃
That ride height is hilarious

Just what i thought
the bigger set of wheels would be what dimensions?
Skoda just made the segment more interesting. Good to see that Skoda is launching new cars..🔥🔥. Quality, design,safety..🔥
The 1.0l variant is more preffered in my opinion because of its power and the gearbox, the space and features of comfort and convenience

wanted to go with manual but living in the heart of chennai i have booked dsg. Recently bumper to bumper traffic has became insane
Congrats on the booking 👍.How is the waiting period?

the ground clearance is nearly identical like the sx4. love a comeback on sedan ground clearance
i own a sx4 petrol, what a performance it offers
I have exact say on this as I am currently using SX4 and now finally after 15 years use, this Sedan impressed me
With vw virtus coming up, sedan segment is firing up... Happy to see this trend 🔥
VW Virtus
*virtus
😊
Škoda brought 1.5 TSI where as Civic and Elantra is discontinued. It is having open run. Hope, Škoda runs like anything and give flip to segment.
Beast of an engine! High hopes of sustained revival for the sedan lovers now. Some external visual differentiator for 1.0 vs 1.5 should have been offered though.
Skoda are in a class of their own at the moment. Every car they launch is a masterpiece.
this car sure has ignited my long dying love for sedans. But from here, our nearest showroom is 500 km away. long distance admiration it be. :)
Wow the 1.5s are pricey. There goes my dream of picking up the 1.5 Virtus!

A little lowered Susp and Single stage ECU remap and a Wider alloys A perfect machines
Slavia - Sexiest Beast in current Sedan segment 🔥🔥🔥 More than DSG, I'll prefer 1.5 Manual to enjoy this to the core 😍
nothing more enjoyable than an automatic DSG
Looking forward to buy this when it hits used car market
After so many years you are still the best anchor. I have a daily run of 60 to 70 km city traffic drive what would you suggestion to purchase 1litre or 1.5 ltr ?
Which one is more mileage friendly
go for 1.5 manual , as its 4 cylinders which switches off at constant speed hence more mileage .

You should also advise the best service stations. Its a major concern when it comes to car service, it will help us a lot. Please
Given, the prices, does it have disc brakes on all 4 wheels? And Skoda should offer this car in multiple variants and not just the top trim.
No. Only front disc
Eagerly waited for 1.5 review and happy to see the first one to comment
Dsg Just Kicks off the vtech 😂🤣
Truly a big turn just skoda make more sense for sedan
Sedans should work on adjustable air suspension sort of innovations for rough roads but also to cruise in highways low slung. the slavia 1.5 looks promising.
The review we all have been waiting for!
We would really like to see a drag race between Skoda rapid tsi and skoda slavia.
Please make a video of that.

Great review ma'am...helps a lot to differentiate which one to go for 😁
It does come at a price but it does brings back to old memories of 164bhp chevy cruze
First one here! Nice car, but, need more in-depth review
Nothing still beats my 8 lakh 1.5l BS4 Diesel Ford Freestyle ! Such a pity no one gets to buy it anymore LOL
by that logic nothing beats my 2014 Chevrolet Cruze 2.0 Turbo ROCKET
Renuka talking about cars is just soothing for car enthusiasts
Always loved Renuka's reviews. One of the best out there.

Fastest car under 20 lakhs ❤️
Does this engine come with active cylinder deactivation?
Yes
Kindly check on hills with ground clearance, bad roads. Eagerly waiting. 🙏
it has a 170-175mm ground clearence
its as much as a most crossovers now so g.c shouldnt be a problem
Let’s hope peoples love for Sedans will come back.
Choose one:
1. Slavia (1.5 TSI)
2. Elantra
3. Octavia
Octavia😮💨
Ground clearance 🔥... Plus comfort and a class of sedan .. i guess I ll do leh in this
Can this and elantra breach 200 kmph
Very informative ❤️
Finally a good old low ( although same ground clearance as some pseudo SUVs) sedan which handles like a beast.
Slavia vs City vs Verna
Please make a comparison video
Renuka Ji, what's the KMPL of 1.5 TSI?
It should give anywhere between 10 to 30 depends on where and how you drive. With ACT on at cruising speed 100-120 you can get upto 30 Kmpl.
Yeah first to comment…love autocarindia
you should a comparison test with slavia's rival
This is the car that should be driven in manual and is made for petrolheads.
I'm not sure what to make of the price. I mean for less than 1 lakh more you can get the Hyundai Elantra which being a segment above, is bigger, more spacious and as powerful as the Slavia 1.5.
This version is pricey, but I love that power.
What a beautiful car!!
its a bad boy in its segment .... no other company has a dare to beat up these monsters viz vw n skoda
Simply Suberb!! A German beauty...
I am just sad that I bought Nexon in November, I so would have loved to own slavia 😭
1.5 TSI 🔥 🔥

we just bought the creta but this car looks cool
Superb
My favorite car
Skoda should have not gone for dual tone seat fabric …looks pretty ordinary for such a good car
location at 4:49 ?
Hi @Autocar
Please drag skoda superb vs XUV700
The real rivalry between sedan and suv, 200HP
Slavia 1.5 is Awesome 👌
beautiful sedan
Hope the Pseudo SUV buyers turn to Sedans and get the pure fun of driving. Sedans > Compact SUVs
Good looking car, fun to drive car with good engine options. Now we can look away from boring cars made of tin and cosmetic features.
Yup I saw folks were thinking about outrun this one by the honda ... 😑😑
Just imagine a TATA sedan 😍
My dream car
Awesome looking car...
One youtuber got 0-100 in 8.6 sec using DSG... Manual will be faster around 8.2 or 8 i guess... Let me get hands on the manual
Sedan especially newly launched nowadays have to try too hard to establish themselves in the market, well it’s the SUV era.
Perfect sedan 🚘
Renuka ma'am ❤️
1.5 engine specs are close to Benz a class limo.Nissan u have a chance to bring a sedan with the same a class limo engine
Nice ground clearance 179mm
Mini bmw 3 series
What's the fun if it keeps beeping after 120 ;). BTW, my 2018 Verna CRDi does 0-100 in 9.32 :D. All said and done, love this car...

Wow!! This is exciting

No competition here Slavia for win
