    I took a 4 month RV trip and left my plant in veg for about 5 months in a 5x5. I flipped when I got back. Im in the last few days of flower. This thing is enormous and has completely filled my 5x5. So many flowers!!! My biggest tent grow ever! Beautiful plant, I almost hate to chop it this weekend

    Great info scotty and Hi C! Times are changing and there are so many different directions you can go with growing. I've been an outdoor grower since the early 80s and been indoor for the last7 years. I'm still learning and enjoy every show. It's true the first thing to look at for veg is space and it only gets smaller as your plants go to flower. you can start 4 little seedlings in a 4x4 room and think that's not enough but by halfway through flower the room could be way to small if left to veg too long. It's trial and error and you have to learn, and after 7 years I'd like to think there is a better way to grow so I listen to every bit of advice I can. Dude Grows is a legit way to get that info and enjoy an hour of your day. Thanks guys! 💯

    4x4 tent, 4 sativas that stretch 3x, i like an 8-10 week veg (lots of training) in 7 gal fabric. TONS of roots. use a net up high to keep the branches from bending over. ive discovered that the marshydro fce4800 can only do a maximum of 20 O's without CO2. thats something that nobody mentions= the maximum light potential. ive tried 5 plants, and 1 plant in a 4 gal square bucket veg'd to the walls, and everytime is the same 20 O's. same with a smaller cabinet. which is a mars ts1000, max is 8 O's. doesnt matter if multiple 1 gals or 2- 7 gals, always 8 O's in the 6sqft cab. ALSO - my rule of thumb is same number of weeks as there is gallons of soil. 7 gal pot = about 7 week veg. you dont want to under utilize the amount of soil. just like your light draw at the wall should equal the sqft of the space converted to grams. so- 16 sqft to grams 448w. roughly. and good starting point is total gals soil = sqft of space. 16sqft tent divided by 4 pots is 4gals each, then those would want about a 4 week veg. but if you plan to veg longer, just increase pot size. sorry for the long winded reply, i enjoy watching/listening to many grow channels and have yet to hear anyone mention this easy formula for beginners. thank you for the awesome content.

    • @marybaxter7714
      @marybaxter7714 9 месяцев назад

      i havent purposefully purchased auto seeds. however, i did come across 2 seeds in a 5 pack of fem photos that started flowering when i transplanted out of the solo cup under 18/6. I add nutes to soil and if I had known they were auto, i would have mixed different ratios (for the short veg. they turned out super leafy and airy due to too much nitrogen in flower). they were in my usual 7 gal fabrics and got 4 O's each. BUT... that was in the wood cabinet that maxes at 8 anyway. the 7 gals i thought were too big. by the end of flower the soil wasnt drying fast enough (seemed like the plants just stopped taking up water) and i was worried about mold. from what ive heard from everyone else: 5 gals is the right size for autos if you have some experience already. @@justinholtgrave

    I agree with shorter veg time for faster harvest, running pure clones, im running sea of green atm with some Afghanicas/BLD just because i want to get a quick harvest in before rainy reason starts outside, and i already ran the long flowering NLD's . but one point i must stress, is the older plants ussualy have more complex terpene profiles and ussualy better effects flavors, and potency, if your taking from a mature clone it doesn't matter as much since its from mature plant. but if your growing from seed and your doing sea of green, your really going to hurt the quality of your buds by flowering them before the plant is at its sexual maturity. the plants higher in myrcene generally will switch to flowering faster after light switch. if your after maximum yield per light in a certain amount of time yes, sea of green from clones. but if your after cannabis cup buds, give your plants a long veg, and don't flip them until they show preflowers in veg, showing there sexually mature and ready for flip. when you flip the plants b4 there mature it hurts the overall quality.

    A good tip for people who have low ceiling height with plants . What we did was grow in 3 gallon buckets put your small cutting in the centre,then put a 2 foot square mesh over the top, something quite strong. Then when the plant grow out above the bucket tie it down to the mesh. Do this when the plant is only 5 or 5 inches tall so still flexible. Then anything that grows tie it loosely to the mesh leaving room in the not for the stem to thicken up. Then keep tieing the plant down until it completely fills the mesh.
    At this point there should be no stems any higher than about 4 inches and the hole mesh piece is full.
    Then put it into flower ,so you basically have a plant on its side it will only grow about 3 feet high after 8 weeks. But you get a canopy nearly all the Same. Try it because it really works.

    I veg for three months from seed, so I have nice mature plants that will maximize resin production. Unfortunately, when you flower under 60-65 days for an indica or less than 70'75 for a sativa, your resin production will take a hit. Fron colonel I flower at the height and age I choose as the colonel are considered to be the same age as the mother so they are already mature. I never keep a mother more than a year and a half as they will start to develop problems and suseptabilities around the two year mark, anuals get confused when their life span is extended too much as they are programed to die every year.

    I change the length of veg depending on which strain I'm growing, currently I am growing a white lavender hybrid I cooked up 5-6 years ago, I try for 12-18 inches in height for my flip over to flower, some take longer, but, heck, I'm worth it.

      Growing out of 2 4x4x7 tents. I always mainline to your point about yield per square footage. Makes for a better yield and a more efficient grow. Roughly 8-10 weeks in veg before I flip to flower. One grow over the spring summer months yields enough herb for me for the next year with some to share. Thanks Scotty and be well my fellow growers!

  • @Mrjboomseedco

    Truth is depends on what ur growing that’s fact don’t care what anyone says it’s a bit less diverse with modern genetics polyhybrids shit that’s beeed for our modern usual grower but once u get into exotics heirlooms “landraces” the game changes all together some like my newest strain if you veg past 4-6” you’ll run out of canopy space no question that one is a flip from seed drop and u still fill a whole 6x6 of the one version I have a few that stay smaller in hoping to get out to a Michigan grow show and hand out some of my genetics for everyone to enjoy mostly thin leaf is my thing I’m old school though but am working on some broad leaf stuff have a nice chemdog 91 cross haven’t tried those f1s though but anything I’ve pollinated my male Sri Lankan heirloom sativa with has had solid stability even with f1s very racy
