Great video. My only problem is how you turn the end into a lengthy duel in almost every video. Honestly, your own description of these 2 duelists makes it a lot more likely that Kyp Durron would just ragdoll Corron Horn right away making the duel short and inevitable. (for the Corran Horn fans, this doesn't make Horn a bad fighter, it merely makes Durron the rain to Horn's fire. That is to say one's abilities are specifically suited to combat the other's weaknesses.)
A slight mistake - Nejaa Halcyon wasn't Corran father, he was his grandfather. His father was Valin (mostly called Hal) Horn. Also, you could mention his two most interesting achievements - planting illusion in Saraai-kar brain during combat (so we can easily assume she was ready for any attack and defended her consciousness) and absorbing a whole explosion of a shitton of explosives, making people in entire city seeing explosion as a raised lightsaber and making explosion going above the terrain instead of all directions, making an explosion that should flatten entire city harmless to anything outside of the place in which explosives blew out. And about vardict - I'm not sure that Durron would win. Yes, Kyp has his telekinesis, but Horn has a different mean of attack - illusions. And he could easily use them against Kyp to make him crawling on the ground - after all Kyp destroyed an entire planet (Corrida) and done much... morally questionable choices. Reminding him of it all at the same moment could break him, allowing Horn to kill him. Also his tutaminis - he could go for a draw if he'd think he can't win as his grandfather did - allow enemy to stab you with lightsaber or do another attack you can absorb and simply crush him with your telekinetic attack. So my opinion - a draw, as there is a Kyp victory option (telekinesis), Horn victory option (illusions breaking Kyp's mind) and a draw option (allowing a killing strike that he'd absorb and kill enemy with own dying breath).
if durron unleashed his lightning before his telekinesis, then horn would have a greater chance for a victory. his tutumins would allow him to absorb durron's lightning and then use the energy to combat durron's telekinesis. and horn's force shields were credited to being more powerful than durron's, when he was amped by the energy he absorbed with tutuminis. the absorbed energy would allow Corran to hold Kyp off for a while, gicing him time to either subdue him with his illusions, or his lightsaber skills, along with the added advantage of his lade being able to elongate. Or Corran could even make Kyp hold off his telekinesis by making it seem as though he was more powerful than he actually was, allowing for an opening. if Durron uses his lighning before his tk, then Corran will most likely win, due to his superior mental capabilities, his more elaborate weapon and his superior lightsaber skills.
I haven't been fallowing your vs series for very long, but I have caught up with all your videos. I was wondering what do you do to differentiate each season? IE: What make battles in season 2 different from season one? Is there some kind of season theme?
That was actually pretty epic. I like star wars video games, and I could imagine this world that someone pictured in their head. Thinking that someone came up with these brilliant concepts, and ideas actually makes me respect the level that it was brought to. Seeing videos on things I didn't even know about star wars definitely makes a person appreciate the in depth mind set it took someone to create something like this. Gotta say diggin the creativity of all of it. And about the video I figured kyp would win when i started watching the video. As a man of a love of star wars I would like to see more of the histories of the jedi. Kyle Katarn, Yoda, Revan. These are the characters everyone loves and knows little about. I humbly request a Versus video covering Meetra Surik, also known as The Exile. A very unique, totally underrated Character if you ask me. Maybe you could put her up against some other exiled jedi, not any exiled jedi please because that would include Yoda and she can't hold a light against that guy :D
here is another idea i have that you can do with grey jedi and jensaari is a big epic vs series with all the masked based sith( vader, malgus nihilis, malak revan (and if you wanna include bane cuase of the time of his head gear you can during his orbalisk armor time.).) and have it a big free for all and as well at the end do a verdict of each solo combatant so you can eliminate all the fan wants in one video with all the bios done in same video. just a thought to make it an epic vid for the 3 of you to do.

My reasoning for this is that both were jedi who were exiled at the end of important wars and both rebuilt the Jedi Order after near destruction at two different pivotal moments in galactic history while never actually taking a part in the Order itself after being exiled.
Can I just constructively critisis the martial arts section? Following order 66 and the fall of the old jedi, many of the traditional form teachings were lost. Due to this, three simplified forms were developed by the new jedi order. Fast style - similar to soresu and ataru Medium style - akin to shii cho and niman Strong style - basic djem so Just something to note when mentioning the NJO era. Love your work, keep it up.

I can't help but notice that most of these battles have jedi who are 'among the best' in most of the fields mentioned. Have you done any battles between jedi who are... I dunno, suckier? It sometimes seems there are more 'the greatest' then there are 'just pretty ok'. More specific to this video, I can't help but feel that Corran should have gotten some points for his piloting skills. I know the assumption is a duel on the ground, but force users have to face each other in space combat pretty often.

Too be honest Corran Horn didn't stand a chance. His pronounced and well-established weakness to telekinetic-based attacks (he's been shoved into walls by even low-level Force users without being able to defend himself) offset his complete mastery of tuteminis, since he is utterly unable to defend against non-energetic Force attacks until his tuteminis skill absorbs enough energy to the point he is able to use telekinesis himself. Unless Kyp Durron is dumb enough to open up an engagement with Force Lightning (which he wouldn't be since the Jedi Masters on the new Jedi Council all know each other very well), Corran could just be thrown off a cliff to his death or strangled with Force Choke, with more or less no way to defend himself (unless he used tuteminis and absorbed the energy from his own lightsaber or something like that, which would be equally disastrous since he would then be completely open to physical strikes). I hate to say it, but unless he's absorbing explosions or lasers, he really only has his skill in lightsaber combat (which he IS very skilled at) and illusion-casting. Though high level Masters like other members of the Jedi Council would be able to pierce any illusions that Corran could cast, as Luke Skywalker showed when Corran was training and inadvertently cast an illusion of himself on Luke and the other students of him using telekinesis to lift a massive rock, after which Luke immediately dispelled the illusion.
crzymn246 He has a lightsaber in his hand. There is no bigger source of energy one can have. Absorb of bit of that and you can easily block Kyp's telekenesis, and if it's at full charge you wont have battery problems in a single duel
I'd also like to point out that even early in his plot line, Kyp had on one occasion already used telekinesis to rather casually flick away Corran. I'm not exactly sure how the latter would truly compete when he can't defend against Durron's powers.
I just have one question, what? Okay I know that Kyp is strong, but here is a question who defeated Exar Kun that would be Corran. Who has something to fight for, Corran. The X factors that you do not consider at all, in this I would agree that Kyp would win, but it is not an overwhelming win. It would be one that would be so close, that it would be hard to say unless given circumstances. Not to say that Kyp is weak, but to say he was Skywalker's best student that is high praise. In this here is the question, Horn and Durron is a good match even though they went through the academy together and not to mention that Kyp owes Corran big time due to that he almost killed Kyp in I, Jedi. BTW, you forgot one unique ability that Corran has he can take the energy that is thrown at him and heal himself with it.
Well, A>B and B>C so A>C does not always work in Star Wars. It’s known as ABC logic, and really is not compatible with Star Wars and the numerous fighting styles and advantages. I can’t think of an example right now, but I’ll probably think of one eventually.

I enjoyed this video and descriptions, but i have to disagree with the end verdict. I personally believe that because of Corran's training in CorSec his insights would have given him the edge over Kyp's brute force. Kyp is amazingly powerful in the Force, but his observational and mental skills are lacking and a weakness for him. One that Corran would be able to exploit. But that is just my opinion. I did really enjoy your comparison in this Video.
Yo evannova, i have a good idea for videos like these, i know you are familar with swtor since you include those in your vidoes, so my idea.if you have you ever watched deadliest warrior you know that they do like you in the sense that they compare two warriors and find which is better, but the coolest part about that show is the animated scene that reveals the winner. so maybe you can do the same in swotor, do like a little pvp video in swtor, that lets you know which is the winner. like make characters that look alike. but anyway just a thought. like so he can see if you agree.

I do agree with corran's weakness over force attacks but I was wondering why it wasn't mentioned that corran had the ability to not just absorb blaster bolts but even jack with the output of a lightsaber, even making it shut down to bulster his force abilities even more so. I will still admit he would still likely loose because of his lackluster defenses against the force it still be likely he would have not pulled any punches even if it meant nearly killing himself or causing a explosion like what his father did ending up in the end taking them both out possibly. but i still enjoyed the video thanks again.
I'd like to see a fight between some imperial dark jedi. For instance I'd like to see a fight between Mara Jade and Jerec the main villain in the dark forces 2 game. When rebels comes out, the inquisitor would also be a cool addition in a fight with these two.
disagree. Corran can absorb the energy from kyps attack and use for defense or offense. he's even used energy from his OWN sabre to power his abilities
Like others, I take issue with this verdict. Coran is more clever than Kyp and uses his "alter mind" abilities to great effect against vastly superior foes. Additionally, you ignored that his ability to absorb energy allows him to use that energy to temporarily fuel his normally lacking telekinetic abilities to a devastating degree. His alter mind talents are so strong he managed to fool all but Master Skywalker. It would be nothing for him to have Kyp chasing illusions or torment him with visions of his past, leaving him wide open for a killing strike.
I rly want to see a vs with grievous. I know he is not a jedi or a sith ( well he is not a force user at all) but i think he is one of the better sword fighter in his era, Remember this crazy bastard fight alone vs 6 jedi (ok 1 was a padowan but also 2 jedi masters) and he win! That's some high level sword skill!
Sorry, but on this one I have to disagree. Corran is THE preeminent master of the force ability "alter mind" in his era. He could easily overwhelm Kyps defenses, and fill his head with illusions while moving in for the kill. To quote Corran himself: "I may not be able to move that rock, but I sure can make it THINK its moved".
I'm very late but other force users are resistant to mental manipulation and since is opponent was a force wielding master I believe he could resist it
With that logic you can just say Corran wins against anyone, when in reality Kyp knows Corrans abilities well, has beaten him before and even if he was illudioned he is strong enough to overwhelm him with a omnidirectional attack.

Except for the fact that Horn has Force Absorb, and any force abilities Kyp is likely to use gets him crushed like a nut.

Haven't even watched it yet but let me say great vid, I always appreciate when people delve deeper in the mythos than "Yoda vs. Luke" and the like.

I'd also like to point out that even early in his plot line, Kyp had on one occasion already used telekinesis to rather casually flick away Corran. I'm not exactly sure how the latter would truly compete when he can't defend against Durron's powers.
I just have one question, what? Okay I know that Kyp is strong, but here is a question who defeated Exar Kun that would be Corran. Who has something to fight for, Corran. The X factors that you do not consider at all, in this I would agree that Kyp would win, but it is not an overwhelming win. It would be one that would be so close, that it would be hard to say unless given circumstances. Not to say that Kyp is weak, but to say he was Skywalker's best student that is high praise. In this here is the question, Horn and Durron is a good match even though they went through the academy together and not to mention that Kyp owes Corran big time due to that he almost killed Kyp in I, Jedi. BTW, you forgot one unique ability that Corran has he can take the energy that is thrown at him and heal himself with it.
Well, A>B and B>C so A>C does not always work in Star Wars. It’s known as ABC logic, and really is not compatible with Star Wars and the numerous fighting styles and advantages. I can’t think of an example right now, but I’ll probably think of one eventually.

I like Corran Horn a lot, but you're right, Kyp would probably take this 3 of 5.
I enjoyed this video and descriptions, but i have to disagree with the end verdict. I personally believe that because of Corran's training in CorSec his insights would have given him the edge over Kyp's brute force. Kyp is amazingly powerful in the Force, but his observational and mental skills are lacking and a weakness for him. One that Corran would be able to exploit. But that is just my opinion. I did really enjoy your comparison in this Video.

Yo evannova, i have a good idea for videos like these, i know you are familar with swtor since you include those in your vidoes, so my idea.if you have you ever watched deadliest warrior you know that they do like you in the sense that they compare two warriors and find which is better, but the coolest part about that show is the animated scene that reveals the winner. so maybe you can do the same in swotor, do like a little pvp video in swtor, that lets you know which is the winner. like make characters that look alike. but anyway just a thought. like so he can see if you agree.

I do agree with corran's weakness over force attacks but I was wondering why it wasn't mentioned that corran had the ability to not just absorb blaster bolts but even jack with the output of a lightsaber, even making it shut down to bulster his force abilities even more so. I will still admit he would still likely loose because of his lackluster defenses against the force it still be likely he would have not pulled any punches even if it meant nearly killing himself or causing a explosion like what his father did ending up in the end taking them both out possibly. but i still enjoyed the video thanks again.

Corran was Neeja Halcyon’s grandson, not son. His father was Valin (Hal) Horn and his adoptive grandfather was Rostek Horn.
Like others, I take issue with this verdict. Coran is more clever than Kyp and uses his "alter mind" abilities to great effect against vastly superior foes. Additionally, you ignored that his ability to absorb energy allows him to use that energy to temporarily fuel his normally lacking telekinetic abilities to a devastating degree. His alter mind talents are so strong he managed to fool all but Master Skywalker. It would be nothing for him to have Kyp chasing illusions or torment him with visions of his past, leaving him wide open for a killing strike.

Sorry, but on this one I have to disagree. Corran is THE preeminent master of the force ability "alter mind" in his era. He could easily overwhelm Kyps defenses, and fill his head with illusions while moving in for the kill. To quote Corran himself: "I may not be able to move that rock, but I sure can make it THINK its moved".
I'm very late but other force users are resistant to mental manipulation and since is opponent was a force wielding master I believe he could resist it
kyp durron has defeated corran horn several times and corran even stated he could only dream of being as strong as kyp
With that logic you can just say Corran wins against anyone, when in reality Kyp knows Corrans abilities well, has beaten him before and even if he was illudioned he is strong enough to overwhelm him with a omnidirectional attack.
