Crazy to think for having most of the functionality of its big brother, it's $200 less expensive. I'm really happy with my Ampero One and I wouldn't have known about that modeler or the Mooer products had I not seen your videos. Thank you for steering me in the direction of some truly awesome gear!
I bought the Ampero One after watching your videos. I had medium expectations in general except for the metal tones that I knew would be good. I am just blown away... This little affordable box sounds as awesome as my high end gear... For Clean, crunch and High gain. I loaded my favorite IRs for Kristian Kohle Rainbows chain saw pack. I don't need anything else !!!! Thanks
I started watching you because I was wondering about ampero, I stayed for your personality man, you seem like a great guy to have a beer and jam with! Have a nice day and continue making these awesome vids man!
Those little knobs are Super handy. You can assign them to about any knob in the chain for each patch. So I can have a real knob for Amp Gain, one for Overdrive pedal Gain, and one for Delay Mix or anything else.
Man I've been checking any videos about the Ampero One and especially about how to edit your own patches/banks, and you made it look so easy. I'm really looking forward to buy one of these things to add it to my pedalboard. I've been curios actually about pedals/pedalboard integration and I haven't run into any videos on RUclips, most of them are only demoing the ampero or ampero one features. Anyways, Great video man! Thank you for the great content!
Bought the Standard Ampero a while ago. The lack of Midi was a Deal breaker for me. The smaller the device, the more I need midi for an external Midi Controller in order to recall the patches I need on stage. The only thing I really miss, is the possibility to apply Hi and low pass filters in the cab section, so that they only apply to the IRs. Because live I use one out for a power amp with guitar cab and the other one goes directly into FOH.
Totally agree. If they had a global EQ, that would dramatically help out in that situation! I definitely need the midi also, I have all my patch changes automated when I play live, so no midi is a deal breaker. But I think this is cool for the bedroom or to grab and go for jamming. I think it would have made more sense to include the midi and ditch the expression pedal though.
@@TaylorDanley Isn't the firmware essentially the same for both. I can't speak for the "One", but the latest firmware on the original just added Global EQ.
@@TaylorDanley Great vid! Thanks for making it. If I hadn't gotten a great deal on the original Ampero I'd definitely consider getting the Ampero One. BTW I found that the key to less noise with the orig Ampero was really cranking down the input gain in the Global settings. Like -12 to 14 dB worth. I run a 1/4" mono out into the power amp input of a Katana Mk II Artist and I still have a lot of headroom with the volume control.
I got my Ampero for $399 and most places price match. I like they offered the smaller unit rather than a beefed up bigger Pro version. Still using my Ampero coupled with Two Notes Torpedo Cab M for the extra IR features, reverbs, EQ, power amp modeling (pretty extensive options for power amp tubes in the Cab M). $700 for the combo of Ampero and Torpedo Cab M. The GE250 was not available when I bought my Ampero otherwise I would have probably bought the GE250. I ran an experiment the other day though hooking up my old pedals with real amps and Marshall 2/12 and I really like my Ampero + Torpedo and 10 band MXR EQ pedal between my FRFR and the Torpedo. 10 band only gets engaged when cranking the FRFR up very loud to compensate for Fletcher-Munson amplitude curve. Brings the sound back to what I’m hearing at bedroom volumes but still extremely loud. I turn back down and turn off the MXR EQ. Convenient for wrangling in frequencies at high volumes (band or gig setting volumes). Still consistently impressed with the Ampero after nearly a year. I prefer the Ampero over my tube amps now for flexibility in sound and FX and floor space used. Even the Torpedo Cab M is small footprint. Great review on the Ampero One.
Not having an original Ampero, I'd definitely get the One just for the size and the 9v power req (pedalboard friendliness!). Don't get why they removed the power switch though... I don't think there is that much space or money to save there! Oh well... still happy with my Ampero! Lovely lovely piece of gear for amateur musicians!
How does this pedal perform when it comes to toggling effects on/off mid song? For example I create a patch that I want to begin a song with clean chorus, switch to no chorus but OD on THEN switch to a harmonizer lead.
Happy to have the Ampero. Flip the coin, I would probably get the Ampero One if I had a choice at the time as I'm Blue Collar/Poverty level Citizen status.200.00 USD is 200 bucks to put towards strings, cables, picks, etc. or an additional pedal. Either way, great stuff. Ho-Tone ? Hot-Tone, Hot-one ? We may never know. Thanks for the Demo, 1st time viewer & Subscriber. Peace-
Well my Nux 300 died after a few hours, just as a heads up. I like the dirty tones of ampero, if clean and crunch is what you are after you might go after the Nux which I felt like was a bit warmer
Hey! I only play in front of my computer, and not live. So I will probably only tweek on the conputer, so I dont need any extra buttons or anything. Do you expierience any difference in the quality in sound? I disnt really catch that, because my wife is cleaning the house and have to speak everytime there is some important I’m listening to! That is her way of reminding me that she is doing something I could have done instead😅
lol. No difference in sound. Aside from the foot switches, the only other main difference is the I/O options. If you don't need balanced XLR's or a ground lift, then 👍

Whats up Taylor! Great video! I had just a question. Can the outputs (L mono and R) be programmable with different settings? Like in L mono send the amp with an IR to the mixer, and in R just the amp to a physical cab? Thanks!

Great video! Thank you so much! If you could help me with advice regarding ampero one- I have clipping sounds when playing it and can't understand how to avoid them. tried to lower input level, it helps almost, but the sound dissapears quickly like cut by noisegate, and it also becomes not distortion, but overdrive-not fat, massive and aggresive as with input level at 0. could you help?
It's one of the main reasons for these things. Just take the output and go into the front of a clean amp or into the input of an FX loop to bypass an amps own preamps.
Got my Ampero One today, heard something rattling inside. Decided to take it apart, and I have found a screw. Just to have an idea of the quality built and control. I hope it sounds better than G3n, Mooer ge 200, or Bose gt1 cause I tried them all.
