Great actors, great films, great artists, great days & much missed in 2019.
What a gorgeous woman Claire was!
Yes!
She’s a vision.
Claire Bloom as Theo in The Haunting 🔥
What an amazing Oscars host.
Yes! Theo! ♥️
Stirling Silliphant (1918-1996) also created Naked City & Route 66. And screenplay for Poseiden Adventure.
Fun fact: the movie Manos: The Hands of Fate was made as part of a bet with Silliphant.
In the Heat of the Night and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner has great writing.
loved Two for the Road
Back when the Oscars had CLASS
Excellent script. I'm writing a southern script in a similar setting.
Um, Rod Steiger was born and raised in New York state. That's a posh accent you got there buddy!
Yes. Rod Steiger's family owned a restaurant in Westhampton Beach, NY
Sidney Poitier was in both winners--wow!
I enjoyed In the Heat of the Night, but for this category, The Graduate was BEYOND robbed.
The great love of Claire's life was Richard Burton. They had a long, passionate affair.
Yet she married Philip Roth - Hah! - they soon hated each other.
Okay , i can live with In the heat of the night winning Best Picture, because it's fucking awesome too, but this one should have gone to The Graduate
Jeez, the way they announce the nominees and winners, the way they hand the awards on separate sides of the stage, the short speeches… just awkward all around!
