This is the best version of this amazing song; Linda really bought the melody out in this version. Brilliant performance; What a singer, RIP. dear Linda, Sorely missed.
Always loved this song and so surprisingly the song was not a big hit for Linda, Rest in Peace Linda Lewis, sending my condolences to your family and friends🙏
'I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You' came from the musical Evita. Linda Lewis - renowned for her five octave range - recorded this definitive version and it deserved to be a bigger hit than it was in the UK (#40).
Thanks bluesbrother37, I havn't seen Evita, maybe its time I did! And Bluevelvetglove - thats bad news about the tapes that have been destroyed - Good health to you
Fantastic performance from a great singer
Thank you for your fab music, and RIP. X
Can't beat her version, beautiful. And I love the bit where she pulls a face, so human.
A great loss.
R.I.P Linda x

This was the first version I heard in the late 70s and as you say, it's the definitive version. I was only playing it yesterday.

Linda lewis attempted disco
would have been a super bond song
I considered this relatively average compared to some of the other songs in the musical but DAMN this cover is fire.
Yes, from "Evita"
Is this song from a stage show?
Yes. Evita.
The guitar riff was later later nicked for the Rocky 3 theme Eye of the Tiger by Survivor!! ruclips.net/video/btPJPFnesV4/видео.html
It was of a stage show, butt, the basic tune goes back much further
go have a listen to this
ORIETTA BERTI LE RAGAZZE SEMPLICI 1965
Everton should sign Viktor Gyokeres
You're on the wrong channel.
So Evita’s song was a cover from this song?
NO. It was the other way round.
