    So, so sorry to hear of the death of Linda Lewis. I'm 65 and I remember this song. I had one of her albums, Woman Overboard. What a great voice, what a beautiful girl. She didn't get the recognition she deserved.

    • @captainkeyboard1007
      @captainkeyboard1007 3 месяца назад

      The lack of proper recognition is what should not have been done against lots of singers and musicians. Their works should have been given lots of radio airplay, and that would have promoted high record sales and big audiences all around.

      The BBC did a brief tribute on the news when she died. Just a shame the BBC didn't feature her in recent years on their many singer songwriter compilations on BBC 4, or do a documentary on her while she was here. Always Joan Armatrading, never Linda Lewis. Hopefully they will now re-evaluate her place in British music.

    • @Cybertruck1000
      @Cybertruck1000 Год назад +3

      @@inverross9019 Joan Armatrading very worthy of any exposure. I'd say she's not given enough recognition when you see what dross we get nowadays. I'm not sure why Linda wasn't touring or being promoted much. She would have been popular, she had it. With her passing, I've been looking at her videos from the 70s80s and some from within the last ten years. Still looking good and with that great range. I wish I'd seen her.

      It would make a great cover song, but few decent modern artists have had a go. The bass and keyboard intro was sampled in a soul track a few years ago,, but they never gave a credit - and simply stole it. Linda's publishers must have missed it ,as did Linda herself.
