I am a modeller from across the big pond, I watched this video saw how easy it was to get set up then went out and bought the controller. Thanks from Britain.
Nice Video clip! Apologies for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you thought about - Januke Henatalie Formula (do a search on google)? It is a smashing exclusive guide for dominating DCC model railroads without the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got amazing results with it.
Hey thank you for your post, this has helped me out, I am absolutely building an N scale layout now that I find that its possible to use dcc with N scale layout's.🚂
Looks like this unit is the way to go for somebody just getting started yet is also feature rich enough so that you can keep using it as your knowledge and needs grow.
Thanks for a great video. I look forward to getting a DCC set up on my layout sometime in the next year or so. I'll probably go with the nce because it seems simple to use.
Kudos for the video content! Forgive me for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Januke Henatalie Formula (should be on google have a look)? It is an awesome exclusive product for mastering DCC model railroads without the hard work. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cooworker at last got excellent results with it.
Cheers for the video content! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you ever tried - Januke Henatalie Formula (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a good exclusive guide for dominating DCC model railroads without the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my old buddy Taylor after many years got astronomical success with it.
Looks great. Can I move from one area of my lay out to another with the train still running? My rail road is 3 different rooms. Each room has a different town, industry and switching opportunities.
Hi! I was hoping someone in the comment section could help me with my concern. My white and blue wire that connects to my track (from KATO) has a little plastic cover over the end of the wire where you plug the wire into the powercab. How do I take that plastic cover off?
Very Informative Video, Simple and no background music, makes NCE Power Cab the best option to get started in DCC. Compare this video to a Digitrax Zephyr Xtra video and it is easy to comprehend why NCE is so popular.,
First time viewing your video.. Great one at that too! The thing to mention is that there is a 5 amp booster that can accompany this Power Cab. I only have four N Scale Locomotives so there is no sense in owning the 5 amp booster.
Appreciate Video! Sorry for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you thought about - Januke Henatalie Formula (just google it)? It is a good exclusive product for mastering DCC model railroads without the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my friend at last got cool results with it.
You mentioned running three trains for this controller. Does that mean I would need more then one controller if I was running let’s say two locomotives on one train and two on another? Or can you give the same locomotives the same address??
Hi Joe, I just purchased a MRC Prodigy EXpress2 , I am starting to feel that I should have prurchased the NCE Power cab, because I am finding the MRC is confusing. Do you have a preference of the two ? and why. Thank you.
Im a new customer for you guys with a pre order for 4 Athearn Genesis non DCC/SOUND locomotives im looking forward to making more purchases with you guys. My one and only question is can i easily convert them to sound/DCC or is that a very complicated process my pre ordered models are the DD40AX,MP15AC,SD90MAC AND THE SD80MAC
How does it work for Atlas code 83 flex track. Do I have to add wires or its send a signal to the locomotive I'm new to this, it will be more understandable if you can explain it simple. 😊😊😊😊😊
Yes, as a computer illiterate, I wanted to K.I.S.S. I ran my basement-sized layout with the NCE ProCab 5 amp radio system for several years, with only 2 wires to the whole thing. It ran fine. And I never cracked the owner's manual. It was good enough for me.
If I were to buy this wired DCC setup. Is it possible to change to wireless in the future. Is there a wireless receiver that can plug into the module in place of the remote? I guess at that point I would need to buy a different remote control that would be able to talk to the receiver. Does NCE have that type of upgrade path? Thanks.
Changing to wireless is easy; however, the powercab itself must remain wired in since it is the command station. Add a Procab-R and an RB02 and you have wireless operation: Procab-r is wireless throttle and Powercab is wired throttle. If you then add an SB5 and get the Powercab factory upgraded to wireless, you have two wireless throttles. Nice thing about NCE is you can do this in steps.
Ive seen a lot of DCC controllers but Ive got a few DC locos that I would still like to run. Can this controller also control DC through the tracks, if not will I have switch controllers when I want to run DC and are there any DCC controllers that do have DC capabilities?
Excellent Video! Excuse me for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Januke Henatalie Formula (search on google)? It is an awesome one off guide for mastering DCC model railroads without the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate at very last got great results with it.
The folks at NCE will be able to guide you through what you need to do. You can reach them here: www.ncedcc.com/contact-nce They are good guys and will be able to give you the exact information.
Kudos for the video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard the talk about - Januke Henatalie Formula (do a google search)? It is a good one off product for mastering DCC model railroads without the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate at very last got amazing results with it.

I paid $200 in January 2024 for my NCE Power Cab.

That is correct and it is expandable.
I agree. Mine works great!
Thank you this helped me alot i am picking mine up and all i had was a bachmann dcc
Thanks for a great video. I look forward to getting a DCC set up on my layout sometime in the next year or so. I'll probably go with the nce because it seems simple to use.

Thanks Joe really needed this video!!👍👍
You did show the red light power from the black box....i was looking for that..
Nice, I'm starting my layout next year

Will Parsons, my NCE came today. My problem (don’t ask my wife) is I have 4 n scale locos just for the Passenger train! Yeah, it’s the Super Chief.

Does the NCE system work with Bachmann On30 loco's?

does it work with o scale Menards train?
You can only run 1 O scale engine (On30)?
Thank you.

3 at one time or 3 in total?
Do you sell the wireless DCC system from NCE and their SB5 smart booster? I like wireless whenever it's an option. Thanks!
This system is good for one bachmann 4-4-0 steam locomotive in On3 scale?
what ddc system would you recommend for G scale?
My nce is not responding, it stays stuck with voltage and cab address
could you use dc trains with dcc controlers
How would one go about installing a system like this on a layout consisting only of Bachmann EZ Track?
Bachmann ez train is one of the best pre roadbed tracks out there
Does this remote work Thomas and friends engines?
Where do I buy
Can you control other accessories such as switches as well?
do those wires that connect to the track come with the starter set?
what if your using atlas flex track, how would you wire it up to that?
same question

Check out " The Proto Throttle."
Hi very informative video. However i have a question. What would you recommend for someone now getting into battery operated / deadrail train hobby?
i like battery operated train sets

that was a awesome video do you know how much it cost?
$150.00 If you go here you will see the price and all the information about it. www.factorydirecttrains.com/NCE25POWERCABENTRYLEVELDCCSET-2.aspx
Hey Joe, I was wondering if you could run DCC with DC
would it also work with an LGB Stainz locomotive from the 80`s?
Hello, I am not familiar with LGB locomotives from the 80's but the guys at NCE will know for sure. You can reach them here: www.ncedcc.com/

must you have a transformer connected for track power.
It comes with a power supply and that is all that is needed.
Dam that’s easier to hookup then I thought
Thought I had to do some fancy wiring lol
အသစ်ဆုံးပထမ
I am converting my N scale layout to DCC and wanna use NCE but how do I power 2 tracks at same time (KATO UNITRACK V11) with one connection plug
The folks at NCE will be able to guide you through what you need to do. You can reach them here: www.ncedcc.com/contact-nce
They are good guys and will be able to give you the exact information.
Will it work for Kato unit track for ho
Yes. You can use any brand of track.
Wow, did you say around $150? That would be a great price if you all were still offering at that price point…
Probably us dollars. So about $230 still pretty good. I paid $400 last year. Au
$195.00 dec. 2024, ebay...NCE power cab
Which
everything he says is wrong, you have to go by the book that comes with the kit.

Dungeon crawl classics... this is not that
That is not simple at all.
So what power source would you recommend if i wanted to run way more locomotives
