Great video Dom. You are an amazing artist and an inspiration for so many young craftsman and woman. keep the old skills alive my friend. see you soon.
The 'Wheel' was such a massive improvement over having to hammer every curve and bulge into sheet metal. The Aircraft and Automobile industry would have lagged terribly without it! So nice to see an iconic piece of machinery being brought back to life. It would be nice to see how the wheels themselves are made...👍
Dom, you're a massive inspiration to young people to get involved in practical skills. We've lost much of our manufacturing in this country due to the insistence on university education; but that doesn't suit everyone so many young folks are floundering in academia when their real place is in the workshop or construction site. Brilliant video.
Agree completely…. I went straight into Industry when I left school, wasn’t academic at all. In my area there was loads of choice and opportunity career wise. Engineering, footwear industry, textiles and printing to name a few. Mostly gone now and it’s a real shame !
When I was a kid, my Uncle came home to CA USA from England where he had lived for years after WW2. He brought with him his english bride, who had been his nurse in the military hospital after being wounded. He also brought 2 cars with him. His wife's, 61 Austin-Healy Mk1 Sprite in green and his almost brand new 65 Cortina GT in red. I always loved the head lights of the Sprite and the tail lights of the Cortina. I noticed several of the Cortina's in the video, couldn't say whether Ford or Lotus. Just brought lots of fond memories seeing those tail lights. Great show all a round and your work is paying off! Thanks for letting us troop around with you!
Great job with the ranalah’s, Dom. Nice to see them being used. I trained as a plumber 30 years ago here in Copenhagen, and we had a ranalah in one of the workshops, all original parts. The blacksmith’s used it all the time, I remember. I made a fruitbowl that I had silverplated for my mum on it as a side-project, which she still has.
We’ll done Dom, you really deserve all the praise that was being healed upon you. So nice to hear people being so positive about the Ranalahs, and especially nice to see people actually using them.
It's been a long journey from that wet field where you found the first Ranalah. Still they are tough things to have survived so long and have done so much work over the years. Well done Dom!
You have worked so hard Dom and achieved an absolutely fantastic result. What you have produced is incredible and you deserve all the praise that is already evident in the previous comments. All I can add is I agree with them all.
Doesn't Dom brush up well! Good to see there's hope for some of the old skills and a lot of young people coming through to fill the old boots. Also lovely to see Alan Millyard's beast firing up - a monumental feat of engineering.
This brings me back to when I was a kid living in Germany and Holland in the late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s with all the beautiful cars in Europe and especially England. I’m sure it occurred to you that you are building an extremely important heritage product, and in the process becoming part of the immortality of history. Your name is forever embedded in the stories craftsmen will be telling in the next 100 years. I’ve watched most of your videos and I am amazed and thrilled at the number of companies there doing casting, machining, etc., keeping critical industries alive. It’s people like you who keep them in business. Things are a bit more spread out here in Southern Arizona, geographically. Keep up your amazing work and videos!
Just all round fantastic vid and so much great exposure for the Ranalah in the perfect setting. We’ll done pulling this off Dom, it must have been so gratifying for you and worth all the hard work. I’m so pleased I’ve watched the whole story from day one. Loved seeing the one in the Heritage Skills centre being used. Just all perfect!
I have just watched this video and it is fabulous, I have to mention that I live less than 200 yards from the old Austin J40 factory in a little village called Glan-Y-Nant, Hengoed Mid Glamorgan South Wales. My wife’s late uncle worked there after a accident in the local colliery.
Thank you Dom for the tour of Goodwood. What an event !! Great to see your Ranalahs on display and in action. Respect to the pedal car guy. A lot of time and money has gone into that business 😬.
Really enjoyed watching this. A visit to Goodwood is a must. It's great to see all the hard work you have put on start to pay off. Great to see young people being inspired and learnng how to develop the skills we will so desperately need to keep our heritage alive.
Congratulations on your epic achievement and success at Goodwood. The inspiration of the young crafters is awesome to see. The future is in good hands. The event has been a bucket for a long time too, smeday I hope. All the best, take care, thank you and cheers!
Excellent! Trade skill revival is a must and what a great way to present & inform. Also, that was a nice/quick overview of GW Revival. Now to dig into the races!
Not only Jenson Button, but also Adrian Newey - an amazing F1 aerodynamicist who still does all his designs on a drawing board with pencils and squares. Talk about keeping the old skills alive!
Well done Dom, a great achievement getting all the machines painted, looking fantastic and delivered on time. The video was excellent and it looked like great fun. Many thanks and kind regards, Richard.
Congratulations on your success. We saw these at the Revival and my companion (who is restoring a Lanchester) was delighted to be able to tell me about them and your story. My first thought after being told was that they look as good for producing mediaval / renaissance plate armour as car panels and found with a little research that they date back to at least 1500. An additional market for you, perhaps.
I wasn’t able to come over to the UK but i did watch the live stream the whole weekend.. ow what a great time i had!! And those Ranalah’s seem to fit in perfectly!! Well done and much ❤ from 🇳🇱
Excellent production Dom, great location, capturing the atmosphere of the cars and public all looking wonderful. As a side note the editing and sound worked perfectly make this a very enjoyable watch. Good work by all evolved.
Great Dom. Your book is coming soon I think. I have it on preorder. The last time I went to Revival, the weather was so bad, I and many, left. Glad you had a good show.
Great work Dom, appreciate you stopped for a chat on the Saturday and made time to speak to me. By the way, I only found 4 of the 6 🤨. Thanks for all your hard work and commitment to keeping the old skills alive.
Great fun. My daughter used to work a Goodwood waitressing. I have heard so much about it over the years - great to actually see it. Thanks for sharing.
Great to hear Lord March compliment you on the Ranalah, I think they may be a permanent fixture going forward which is good news, well done on promoting the brand
Really interesting. The Revival looks fantastic and your view reaally helps. On Discovery Channel, I saw a program called Buy It, Fix It, Drive it and one of the presenters, Sam Lovegrove, was using a modern English Wheel to produce panels for a 1930's Sunbeam.
Hello from California, Great video! Thank you and congratulations. Long road and what a huge success. Love seeing the younger generation learning the old techniques to carry forward to next generation.
Dom you are an inspiration, my father put me onto your RUclips channel which is usually something done the opposite way around, very much been enjoying the journey that has been Ranalah revival
Next to Rowan Atkinson in the flash suit was Duncan Pittaway, he owns The Beast of Turin amongst many other cars. Next to Jenson Button is a very disappointed Adrian Newey. The UFO crash was my favourite part of the Revival, totally unexpected and very well role-played by the team there
Hi Dom ... What a great weekend! You did a great job with the Ranalahs...keep up the good work. It was good to get the chance to say hi (managed to catch you briefly after the screen printing session you hosted on Sunday). Regards....
Absolutely fantastic video Dom. I think I'll start planning my next European trip around attending this event, and will be sure to check out a Ranalah at the Heretige Skills Academy site when I do. Inspirational. From an Australian Defender driver with a hobby restoring old lever coffee machines. Love your work.

The coolest thing was the "Revive and Thrive" area great imitative to bring these skills back👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great video, perfect setting and lovely to see the old skills continuing down the generations. A very proud moment indeed...! Congratulations !
They look gorgeous, you should be so proud of all that you have achieved with this project. The colours are just so lovely too. Well done you.
Great video, great event. We went on the Sunday and I think i found all the Ranalahs, made my wife take my picture in front of a couple :)
Simply, - well done Dom, on every level!
We’ll done Dom, you really deserve all the praise that was being healed upon you. So nice to hear people being so positive about the Ranalahs, and especially nice to see people actually using them.

The USA Mike Rowe of the UK. Well done mate!!

That's what I saw indeed. Great craftsman!
Great video love the feel when people make the effort to dress to period and great info love the J40 cars
Superb video which really shows the passion you have for the craftsmanship of days gone by, the footage captures the feel of Goodwood

Dom you are a wonderful personality and a brilliant presenter. Thanks for all the videos and greetings from The Netherlands.

Great content and variety in these videos. Keep up the good work, it’s very entertaining.
It's a long train ride from Canada so I've greatly enjoyed this look at the event. 😉
Great video as usual Dom, 7:39 looks like "arrival of the refugees"!

Excellent production Dom, great location, capturing the atmosphere of the cars and public all looking wonderful.

They looked amazing at the Revival!
Only at the opening few minutes, but those Ranalahs look lovely especially with the polished signage.

Next to Rowan Atkinson in the flash suit was Duncan Pittaway, he owns The Beast of Turin amongst many other cars. Next to Jenson Button is a very disappointed Adrian Newey.
The UFO crash was my favourite part of the Revival, totally unexpected and very well role-played by the team there
Very brave seeing all of your work being lofted into the sky and then driven off.
Fantastic video, Thank you Dom.
