TODAY'S VIDEO:
In today's video I rejoin Patrick in the GB News studio to debate the royal family and their use of animals for the coronation of King Charles. In particular we discuss Camilla's ivory sceptre and their use of horses for the event. Is this all just woke liberal outrage or is there a deeper issue at play that isn't political or even just about the royal family, but is instead about tradition and how we view animals more generally?

Any system of government, other than MONARCHY, including democracy (and, of course, socialism) is the most pernicious institution in the history of the planet.
Email me for the explanation (my address is on my RUclips homepage). 📧
I think he agrees with you.
we all know where ivory comes from, but elephants? there are no elephants of UK origin. why doesn't Ed address that question?
*Create a Better 🌎 and a Better You by.................Living Vegan* 💜
Awesome discussion......... SHARING
I think it's cool that you have the opportunity to talk about veganism on tv, and with a host that frames it as an interesting discussion, rather than being dismissive and insulting (yeah, I'm referring to Morgan)
He's not though, they're using petty issues such as this to distract from the real issue of 80bn animals suffering in farms and slaughterhouses.
Yeah, Patrick Christys seems like a decent news presenter. Respectful and willing to just have an open discussion without any bullshit. The way he asks questions to Ed too, it allows Ed to speak more freely about the important stuff. Clever.
Can we even call Morgan a host? He’s just a shill for shitty industries.
@@garibaldi54 Calm open discussions is how Ed is able to plant seeds. Notice how Ed said animals (mostly) and not elephant. I do not share your idea that elephant ivory is a "petty issue" nor do I see every fish or chicken, cow or pig having their heads cut off as a petty issue either. Each animal should be fought for.
OP. mealy stated that it's great that ED has such a great platform, and then compared patrick to other presenters...Yes, Patrick defaults to the programming that 99% of vegans also had prior to becoming vegan. The difference is that contrary to Morgan who gets defensive, cuts Ed off, shouts over the top of Ed, belittles Ed, and justifies his fallacy is fact, Patrick is calm and composed and allows for an open discussion and the planting of seeds.... Big difference!
@@cazzawazzadingdong5139 It is a petty issue, many people would be open to the discussion of 80bn sentient lives suffering and being killed (although many also wouldn't). But in comparison the average person would think that a woman holding a ceremonial object thats centuries old, or even guards men using horses in a once in a lifetime traditional ceremony is not a big deal. Certainly not something important with the current state of things in the world.
Its basically GBnews trying to say 'look at these stupid vegans getting upset over the slightest little thing concerning animals'.
Its the same as with the 'screaming tomatoes' they wanted to downplay the whole issue and make it seem ridiculous.
Patrick has been refreshingly open in each interview you’ve done with him. I’m pleasantly surprised that he has taken the time to ask useful questions and considers the answers.
Given he's a GB news presenter that just makes me suspicious
@@JP-sm4cs Patrick - The vegan mocking GBNews presenter previously seen swigging down his pint of milk in the face of the PETA activist. Even if it was just done to please their far right, antivegan, 'antiwoke', (etc) viewership - I agree that your quite right to be suspicious. Back pedalling to try and save their channel maybe?
@@JP-sm4cs I think GB News are actually pretty good at getting opposing views on the show, Im a staunch corbyn supporter who usually watches Novara Media but I think the fact GB News gets people on like Ed or Aaron Bastani etc and gives them fair time to speak is commendable. Its a shame people like Dan Wooton are on the channel because hes an absolute slime ball in my opinion, but some of the other presenters are at least sincere and willing to hear opposing views.
@@ThepPixel what's wrong with Dan Wotton?
@@unvaccinated6467 hes a fucking slime ball...
Not gonna lie, Patrick is pretty rational and is totally unlike other mainstream media.
He's only acting reasonable because he knows hes talking to someone who knows what they're talking about
I just don't see it. He seems to act like any other host: Going for the baiting, sensationalist questions like 'do you dislike the royal family,' and 'do you think using ivory makes someone a bad person?' Then, when presented with Ed's question of 'does tradition make morality?' he doesn't answer it at all, and instead, ignores the entire premise of the scepter controversy, which is the symbology, and says basically, 'it's just an old object, why should we care?' In this context, he also comes off as the type of person who won't absorb new information and change his stance, despite how articulate the opposition is, as evidenced by his last bit to Ed: 'the oil used happens to be vegan! Does that negate everything you've argued against today?'
In my opinion, the only thing that distinguishes him from someone like Piers Morgan is that he actually gives Ed a chance to talk without interruption, which should be the bare minimum of human decency. I don't think it makes him particularly exceptional. If anyone deserves praise, it's Ed for making a public stand for a position that is vilified by society, and does it in the kindest, but impactful way.
I'll admit, he's pretty good at his job as far as interviewing is concerned, but at the end of the day, his job is still to be the mouthpiece for a very right-leaning news network. Most of the time news anchors and the like aren't earnestly expressing their own opinions about a given figure or event, the statements they make and the questions they ask are planned in advance by the network. For example, Tucker Carlson is privately very anti-Trump but you'd never know this if you only ever watched his show.
He's a fascist propagandist and apparently, it's working on you.
He is really good at avoiding questions though
I love the interviews between you two. He seems open towards these talks.
This guy is a living embodiment of morality and compassion. Everytime he debates with someone, I have never heard anything other than just the perfect answers from him. Thank you so much for what you do for animals.
He failed to prevent pork chops 🥩🍖🥩🥩🥩🥩🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖 and chicken drumsticks 🍗🐓🐔🍗🍗 from appearing on my plate he is a looooooooooooooooooooooooser.

💯Totally agree & have been thinking the same🙏🏼
While 8 billion people living worldwide have high demand on animal meat 🥩🍖🥩🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖.
The fact that they are willing to have You back in the studio just shows they know You are the truth. Alot of people who work at networks like this dont even want to be unjust and bear false witness, they just got tied into something that was over their head and now they are in too deep. Letting people like You speak on their platform I would imagine is a means for them to do right and pave a way for positive change. Maybe I'm naïve in thinking so, but I do like the thought.
GB News do not have people on because they know they're speaking the truth.
You are naive, when are they going to give him the same platform to discuss the real issue here?
@@garibaldi54 well that’s rude. Baby steps. Yes it sucks he’s not focusing on the main issue, although he did the last time technically, but he’s able to nudge into it still, and it’s a possibility for the future.
Usually it's the exact opposite of that - if somebody is a proponent for truth, they are not allowed anywhere near mainstream media outlets.
Nah fam, they are willing to bring him back in the studio because he garners views. Whether he's right (which he is) is irrelevant.
Absolute solid balls of steel going on GB News to have this conversation. I'd absolutely bottle it

Very much agreed, it is outdated to exploit animals for some trinket, the elephants wish to keep their ivory and not be murdered for someone to have a scepter. No reason to continue using something that reminds everyone how cruel the monarchy has historically been to animals.
Time for a new future for the monarchy, one of good moral values. A monarchy that respects all life whether human or nonhuman.

An inspiration that failed miserably to convert 8 billion people worldwide into Veganism.
There is no time to waste. Our planet is being destroyed and animal agriculture is the main cause of just about every issue we face from deforestation to world hunger. Even researchers at Oxford University, after doing an extensive study of over 40,000 farms, concluded that animal agriculture is so environmentally destructive: GOING VEGAN IS THE BEST WAY TO SAVE THE PLANET.
Nah fuck that
When does the planet die?
Good to see you back on that show again!
This interviewer is extremely refreshing when it comes to veganism. Doesn't waste you or his viewers time with rediculous theatrics or insults and actually engages honestly with genuine interest and legitimate questions.
Whenever I am in the depths of despair at man's cruelty, selfishness and stupidity, I take comfort from Ed showcasing the very best of humanity- compassion, humility, determination and the ability to articulate truth. Thank you once again Ed for all that you do.
You say "how it's viewed on the national stage" actually it's international. And I think this is a really important point. People with money across the world will look at these objects and think "that's nice, I want one of those, or I could make something even nicer". The world we live in is driven by influencers, and the royal family are huge influencers. If she carries this sceptre it will almost certainly drive the international ivory trade.
Let's not forget Philip the kings father hunting elephants rhino lions etc in fact he's known to have personally wiped out thousands of animals and gloat and pose over at least one dead mother elephant by his gun for a photo
