I aim for 20 on a workday, 50 on days off. But it depends on the book. I'm reading a book now where 50 is easy. I've read other books where 10 a day was what I could do.
30 pages is pretty decent and you're right about taking it on too fast because your mind will DEFINITELY resist you on it. I can easily read for hours and hours a day, but I feel the cost of doing that sometimes where my brain gets overloaded.
@BinoBookReviews the other point you made about only reading books that interest you is important too. So many times have I tried reading books that I felt were important despite not being my taste, and it usually never worked out well.

Yeah like anything pushing through pain removes all the fun. i hope there is never a day i don't want to read!
52 weeks in a year so if you're reading 1 book a week it's 52×1=52 books in a year. Basic math
