    Sometimes people get tired of losing battles in the competition. Drifting is fun when you're just shredding with friends in drift meets. But gets really really hard when it comes to competition, especially in pro/expert/highest level bracket. You have to put all you've got ( skill, mental, and physique ) and of course, lots of luck ( be in the right place at the right time )

    Excellently Done!! I would like to see a similar type of video on how to drift and best angle you car to the lines in the drift corners and best point to start transitioning your car in prep for the turn.

      Appreciate it all that stuff is so subjective for individual tracks it would be impossible to make anything useful. Best piece of advice is to just drive, don’t tune, drive battery after battery you’ll learn a lot.

    Hey cam! Great video as usual.. but stupid question as I'm still new to all of this.. how much input are you putting into steering vs letting the gyro do the work for you..i feel i over steer a lot ..i also run my gyro at about 60 %

    • @shredcraftrc
      @shredcraftrc  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching! I tend to like to counter steer a bit more than what I see other people doing but its all so subjective its really just something you need to spend time with to see what kind of feeling you prefer.

    I want to start an RC drift hobby but don't want to invest heavily in something I might not enjoy. I'm looking for something affordable. Do you think the Sakura D5 is enough for practice and can be customized to reach higher levels? Aside from electronics and tech, is skill the biggest determining factor?

    • @shredcraftrc
      @shredcraftrc  6 месяцев назад

      I have videos on budget vs expensive and no experience with the d5 so I can’t speak to it. But it’s not a cheap hobby, you definitely need to invest to have a good time if you want to properly learn to drift. Minimum chassis would be a yokomo rd2.0 and decent electronics will be at least $300+

    • @handykawara6440
      @handykawara6440 6 месяцев назад

      @@shredcraftrc Yes, I know RC hobbies aren't cheap. I just want to ensure I don't waste money on a chassis. I already have all the electronics: a Power HD1 gyro, a Futaba transmitter, a 4S LiPo battery, and old Xerun and Justock systems from my other builds. Do you think with the Yokomo YD-2, I could focus on practicing my skills and understanding my car better, instead of relying on the newest technology, turbo, or kit weight distribution? Is the YD-2 enough, and can it be upgraded to the max? Or should I save more and buy a proper kit from the ground up? Is there really that much of a difference, like with the Reve D RDX or better upgrade later with MC-1? or i should try it with cheap alternatives like sakura d5 or d5mr?
      thanks bro!

      @shredcraftrc  6 месяцев назад

      I’m not really a comment section consultant. All the information you seek is out there. Drifting is 2s battery’s only and drift specific esc and motors are much better suited for drifting applications, drifting you’re constantly spinning the wheels so racing motors and escs arnt built to do that, they will work but they won’t be good to have a good time. Yes yd2 is good k to start but you will you want more. Rdx is that much better and the best chassis out of the box for the money. Buy once cry once.

    Can you please talk about gyro gain? Some people tell me to set the gain between 60 - 70 and others to run it at 100 if possible.

    • @shredcraftrc
      @shredcraftrc  6 месяцев назад

      Well it’s all about the feel that you want, I can’t say run 60 because your chassis and electronics are probably different than mine. Like I said in the video it’s all subjective so it’s something that you will need to find what works for you. One thing is for sure, you don’t want your wheels wobblin so I wouldn’t run 100…

    • @cianu6
      @cianu6 6 месяцев назад

      @@shredcraftrc I see... for some weird reason I am running 2 chassis with RS-ST and Yokomo v4 gyro at 100% on green without any wobblin. I guess I just got lucky on my electronics or maybe something is wrong lol. I've seen so many people with wobblin just after 70%

    • @shredcraftrc
      @shredcraftrc  6 месяцев назад

      @@cianu6 like I said, it’s all very subjective.

    • @cianu6
      @cianu6 6 месяцев назад

      @@shredcraftrc thanks for the reply. It is just confusing, so there is nothing wrong with running it close to 100 as long as it doesn't wobble?

    • @shredcraftrc
      @shredcraftrc  6 месяцев назад

      @@cianu6 I mean at 100 you’re not really driving the car in my opinion you’re letting the gyro do all the work. I like to counter steer. So once again all preference.

    Getting back to drift after 8 years when CS was popular, not RWD. Going to the club for the first time with my freshly builded RD 2.0. Perfect timing for the video😂

      @@shredcraftrc Agree, I tried one pack on tiles and managed to do donuts for a minute or 8s before the pack discharged.
      Delighted with the chassis.
      Don't thank me for watching. Thank you for making content. You are natural, not clowning or looking for attention. Love content creators like you. Keep the good job.
      I would love if one day you'd make a series of video with alligment of the drift chassis. You have the knowledge and I am pretty sure, you would explain it in a proper way!

  • @totallyrandomuser5760
    @totallyrandomuser5760 6 месяцев назад

    A poorly set up chassis can hinder improvement. And Yokomo chassi prior to RD2.0 don't have good setups, good example is YD-2Z/RD1.0. Same with electronics(as you mentioned boost and turbo timing)

    • @shredcraftrc
      @shredcraftrc  6 месяцев назад

      Yes but it would have to be drastically out of alignment to not be drivable. I think the yd2s was a great platform and preformed nicely out of the box. The RD2.0 is more of a take on the RDX which makes them both great budget options.
