I can't be the only one who used to grab the Tato Skins from Keebler whenever I found them on the shelf. Haven't seen those in decades.
peel ur potato and fry up those instead...
Came here to say that. They were SO good! TGI Fridays has potato skin chips, but they're all flavored. Tato Skins had plain salted, which I loved.
They had baked potato a-peel because they're made from potatoes and skins that are real!
I loved them too!
I think that TGI Fridays makes a snack similar to what you are talking about.
The fact that they discontinued pizzerias is nothing short of a crime
It was a good one. Thank you for watching steakdriven!
I loved those, I had forgotten about them, thanks for the reminder
I miss Pizzarias a lot! I hope that they'll come back someday. They probably won't...but hey, a guy can hope. ;-)
They really were good. Thank you for watching and sharing one you'd like to see back!
Been trying to remember ndmtbifvthrk for years
I don’t know if anyone remembers, but I want my tomato basil lays back pronto!
Lol. I remember though I never tried them.
I loved them
Best Chip Ever 🤝
i don't remember those but they sound good
Those were sooo good
“Tato skins got baked potato appeal, because they’re made with potatoes and skins that are real!” I can still hear that commercial like it was yesterday. Also my favorite chip from back in the day.
They were different for sure. Thank you for watching and sharing their commercial!
Lol...my brain started singing this as soon as my eyes read it. Thanks for the memory. 😊
I remember Mom buying chips in a big family size, packed in a metal can. Those cans are collector items at antique stores now. 😁👍
Hi Jodie! 👋😁🇦🇺
Were they Charles chips in a yellow can. My mom used to buy them.
I loved Charlie's Chips best regular chips ever made
We actually had them delivered in the 70`s. Charles Chip truck pulled up like the milk man!
@@GCMadej yep we did too! I want to say they had pretzels also, but may remember that wrong...
@@brianperrine8099 You are 100% correct! The big ole hard pretzels!
When I was a kid, we had two kinds of potato chips. We had plain and barbecue. The next flavor to come along was salt and vinegar. My favorite snack food was FLINGS- they were ham and cheese, flavored puffs. They were so delicious. My mother would get them at Christmas time and we thought we were rich.
Those Flings sound pretty good. Thank you for watching and telling us about them.
There's a corn snack from South Africa with that name. I wonder if they are the same thing.
I miss Andy Capp's Salsa Fries so much!!!
I liked the bacon cheddar ones they were good too
Thank you for watching and sharing one you miss brittlizzzzzz!
I like the salsa fries, but I really miss the pub fries. Nothing like them. 😊
Doritos came out in the late 60s-70s with taco flavor and that was so good back then to me as a kid in CA. Then it disappeared but made a comeback some years ago. I’ve found them here at Schnucks in IL, but it doesn’t taste or smell quite the same, like it’s missing something. It seems to me that it tasted tangier (or is it more tangy?) back then than it does now.
Taco Doritos were My Go to chip in the 80s, then they changed the name to Taco Bell Taco Doritos in the 90s then they went away they Brought them back when the Twilight movie came out they called them Midnight Taco Doritos, they tasted way different, they went away again and are back but the recipe tastes different agian
Every so often it does come back. I wasn't sure if my taste buds changed or they changed the recipe but it does taste different to me. I used to love them as a kid. Thank you for watching and mentioning them Douglas!
They used deadlier more toxic chemicals these days.
@@RhettyforHistory, I just remembered something. I don’t know if you had these as a kid in your area, but do you remember the variety pack chips that had the different country flags and cartoon people in their native costumes? I think it was by Laura Scudders or Lays? It was fun getting a different country.
Pretty sure the Taco flavor was their original.
Keebler Pizzaria is one of my favorite chips, I still wish they would bring in back.
They were really good. Thank you for watching and letting us know you love them!
30+ years and I still haven’t found a pizza flavored stack that’s good as these were😢
In the early 1980's Tostitos had a round Nacho cheese flavored chip that was amazing!! The Doritos chips of today have way too much flavoring/salt on them today...way too much 🧂🥵
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts pinksparkle258!
Procter & Gamble knew exactly how bad Olestra was, that’s why they sold it off so soon after getting it to market, and likely recouping their R&D investment. They knew the backlash was coming. My brother-in-law worked in that plant for years, even after it was sold. He told us how “bad” it was before it ever got approved for use.
Imagine what is in our food today. It's an embarrassing topic generally not discussed, but I'm willing to bet that digestion related problems such as IBS are far more common than we think.
@@WinterInTheForest just avoid processed junk food - problem solved.
@@Benjamin_Gellman So tell us about yor grass and bean diet. The rest of us are subject to chemicals and it iswhat it is
I think I was the only person who didn't have a reaction to the olestra.
@@MSinistrari Yep. The rest of us learned out lesson... the hard way LOL
The Keebler pizzerias were amazing! The obosies were good too

I remember Pizzerias, Oboisies and Tato Skins in the late 80’s early 90’s. I miss them now
Thank you for watching and sharing some you miss Malcolm!
I forgot about O'Boisie's!
Thanks for another great dose of nostalgia!🙂
You're welcome and thank you for watching SavaFiend!
7:47 I loved those Jumpin Jack Doritos!!
Thank you for watching and sharing what you loved GenXfrom75!
I miss Baked Doritos! Also, after watching this I have a craving for Tato Skins, even though we didn't buy them that often.
Yeah, I loved baked Doritos!!!!
Thank you for watching and sharing what you loved kerrid.979!
I WANT MY CHACHOS BACK!!!! Keebler made Chachos from 1993 to 2006. They were a flour tortilla chip instead of corn based and came in Restaurant style, Cheesy Quesadilla & Cinnamon Crispana. I could literally eat an entire bag of those cinnamon ones in one setting! Why they were discontinued I don't know but Keebler has discontinued many great products thru the years. Those darned elves!!!! YT has a few commercials showing these chips btw 🤠
Chachos were very delicious with tostitos salsa 😋.
Thank you for watching and letting us know that you want to see Chauchos back on the market!
I remember the old Dorito bags now more modern ..lol
They did a limited run with the old 1980's bag a year or two ago. I bought some because of the nostalgia, so it worked on me. Wish they'd do it again...
I really loved the old style font and bags. Thank you for watching and sharing your memories Ginalopez7877!
Yes me 2
I remember back in the early 80s Nabisco had a product called Potato Chipsters they were part of the Mister Salty line of snacks. Sadly they were discontinued years later they actually were really good.
Thank you for watching and sharing another one for us to remember frankrizzo4460!
I loved to biscuits and gravy potato chips. I will miss them always
I forgot about those. They were so good. That's the thing that sucks about limited edition stuff. You fall in love with it and then it's gone.
Thank you for watching and sharing one you love and miss!
I miss Planters cheese balls. They were so good. Also, back in the 70’s, Doritos had a sour cream and onion Dorito. I really miss them. And I finally found the taco flavored ones at Walmart online, but they haven’t had them for the last two months. Amazon also had them, but they were a lot higher.
those cheese balls came back years ago. may not be the exact same as before but still good
@@anonymousYTviewer69 thanks! I’ll check!
@@thejourney1369 I got a couple big packs on Amazon($24 for 12?) but the 3rd or 4th one I got were seemingly spoiled, they stink BAD!!! Might be ok now, maybe it was a bad shipment...
My husband and I always packed Planters Cheese Balls in out lunch to take to the Indy 500 in the 90's!
Those cheese balls were the best and sadly, like someone already mentioned, when they brought them back it was disappointing.
I hope Keebler brings back Pizzarias. There's nothing else out there today that tastes like them. No chips made with actual pizza dough. They were so addictive.
I loved those and had forgotten about them, they were so good.
Thanks for the reminder 😊
They really were good and you are right about there not being anything else like them. Thank you for watching eggie1978!
Charles chips original chip in the huge metal can were the chit to us children back in the latter half of the 60s and early 70s and they stayed super fresh and tasty long enough to eat a whole big can.. They had some pretty good pretzels back in the later 80s also...
They were definitely good and fortunately they are still being sold but they are not cheap. I saw the can and it seemed smaller. It was 21.99. Thank you for watching Wil_Liam1!
Can get the chips from The Vermont Country Store
"Love your daddy" 😂😂 canceled darn
Baconettes! A Frito-Lay bacon flavored chip they had when my father drove one of their trucks in the 70's. Used ro munch on those, BBQ pork rinds, and BBQ Fritos all day when he shanghaied my little brother and me into doing 90% of his job for him.
Thank you for watching and sharing another one for us to remember richardadams4928!
@@RhettyforHistory Thank YOU for making the video!
Years later, that whole Olestra incident still makes me laugh! 🤣
My favorite Olestra story was of a dog that ate the chips and proceeded to ruin an expensive carpet. Don't worry, the dog was okay.
Definitely not something you wanted to eat a lot of. Thank you for watching ICallItAsItIs!
4:22 This is the one I thought of as soon as I read the title of this video. I remember O'Grady's Potato Chips very fondly, especially the Au-Gratin flavor. The were just a bit thicker, but it really made a difference.
Thank you for watching and letting us know which one you enjoyed XianHu!
Oh yes!!!! So good.
❤ all the food memories you bring back.
Thank you and I'm happy to hear you are enjoying the videos zzizahacallar!
Crunch Taters are back! I can buy them at my local DG. Nobody misses Wow! Chips lol
i was wondering why those are on a video about chips we want back ....
unless they changed the olestra
Thank you for watching and letting us know about those being at Dollar General!
Do they still sell the BIG twin packs of chips? I remember knowing if mom and dad bought them it means we were having a BBQ or big party 🎉. Out of all these i think I miss crunch taters most. It's too early in the morning to be craving chips😂 Thanks for the upload 👍💙🏴
You're welcome Tammie and I appreciate you watching. I really don't see those twins packs here much unless it's at the occasional big bulk stores. I'm not sure if you have Sam's or Costco? Perhaps there is something similar where you are?
@@RhettyforHistory they have Costco here, but only workers in certain industries can get a membership 😕 it's ok though the last thing I need is bulk food 🫣
Cincinnati brand Grippo’s still sells double packs!
Anyone can join Costco. We’ve let our membership n expire and I need to renew it, but there’s no limit on who can join.
@@thejourney1369 I know it's that way in the US. But when I check the website for the UK, membership is limited.
Thank you Rhetty for sharing ❤️

I loved Charles Chips! And the tins my grandma would put Christmas presents in and wrap it 😂
Those tins were great and we used them for everything we could. I noticed they still sell them but I have not tried them. Have you? Thank you for watching!
@@RhettyforHistory no I have not. Actually thought the brand was dead, so I will need to try them and update ya!

I remember Charles Chips Commercials they would play every night during the Honeymooners reruns on our local TV station.
They were really good and as a kids we always thought people who had their chips delivered were really rich!
What is 🤣 is the chips actually says it can give you cramps an stool problems .i never knew that but ,lets face it any overly processing foods would give stomach problems .my favorite was potato skins an the Cheetos ❤thank you Rhett for sharing another great episode . brings back memories .

I could be wrong but, I was told by some of my American friends that you can't get Ketchup flavored potato chips in the US anymore. My US friends always ask me to put some in the mail for them or bring some with me when I cross the Boarder.
I sure haven't seen them Brian. I didn't even know they made them. Thank you for watching and telling me about them.
Whoever took you that you can’t get ketchup chips in the US lied, I see them in Walmart and grocery stores all the time.
You can actually buy Crunch Tators around the Christmas holidays at Dollar General. Lays have been doing this for about 2-3 years now. I usually buy a few bags of the mesquite bbq every year.
Thanks for watching and letting us know when and where we can find them JazzyJeff910!
I thought Fritos had a mesquite bbq and ranch flavor chip back in the early 90's, but can't find any reference. They are available in flavor twist, but something about the texture of the twists isn't the same as crunching on a regular shaped Frito.
That's interesting. I'll have to try and do some research on it. Thank you for watching and telling me about that one.
Bbq Fritos are my all time favorite!
I work for PepsiCo. I used to be in CR and when we decided to discontinue BBQ Fritos, people lost their minds. The phones got lit up. Dumb decision so it was brought back.
I'm not sure what co. Made Pizza Puffs, but they were like a Cheeto puff but pizza Flavored. & Eagle brand chips that had soooo many different flavors, they had a parm, garlic, basil flavor that I loved
Thank you for watching and telling us about those Pizza Puffs. Those sound good.
Yo-Ho potato chips, "since 1923". Came in a box with two bags inside. Light, crispy, salty, delicious!
Thank you for watching and sharing another one with us Cindy!
I would LOVE to have Pizzarias and Tato Skins back!! I loved both of those, but Pizzarias were my favorite!!
Thank you for watching and sharing a couple of your favorites Flight777WFS!
Loved Chipos!!! Circa 1970’s!! Would love to taste them again!!!
Thank you for watching and sharing that you miss Chipos!
Omg I was hoping you’d mention the pizzerias! There was a lot of snacks we lost through the years. There was this really good snack I used to eat. I cannot for the life of me remember the name. It had strawberry, this cream stiff and like a granola or rice crispy thing. It came in a little tray and you had to put it together. It only lasted a short time and they were soooo good.
Thank you for watching and sharing what you loved MakeupMobster. I'm not sure on the strawberry one that you mentioned but that sounds interesting. Hopefully someone else can help us out.
Tato Skins!
I love those.
Thank you for watching stezton!
I loved the bold taste of Herr's Old Bay seasoned potato chips.
Thank you for watching and mentioning you love Herr's Old Bay!
They still make them but I miss the old artwork on the shiny silver bag.
New York Deli potato chips were my favorite. I would have them as late night snack while watching the Honeymooners.
Thank you for watching and sharing some chips you enjoyed engineersoldiersspiritof7621!
Crunch Taters were good. I’m assuming they were kettle cooked, that’s why they were so much more crunchy. And I absolutely LOVED O’Boises. I loved how light and crispy they were. At least, that’s how I remembered them.
Thank you for watching and sharing your memories of Crunch Tators!
Loved both these chips too. I remember O’Boises tasting amazing but they were salty AF.
Back in the early 60s in the Dallas area, there was a product called "Chip-Os" (or similar) which were round corn chips, better than Fritos. They weren't around long. Frito-Lay sued whatever company made them because of the "-Os" at the end of the name, and they then went off the market. Great chips, though. Also, original Doritos started out with a taco flavored variety, before nacho cheese was introduced. I don't know when taco flavored were dropped, but they were pretty good.
Thank you for watching and sharing some you have enjoyed noferblatz!
My favorite Doritos are the Taco flavored ones, the first flavor they came out with after the original plain ones. These were pretty much obliterated when they came out with Nacho Cheese flavored, and moreso when Cool Ranch came out. Fortunately for me, the Taco Flavor makes a come back every so often, like the McRib, so I get them when I can.
It is interesting that those chips only come back every so often. If you don't get them when you see them then it may be awhile before you see them again.
@@RhettyforHistory Very true
Back in the 70s Doritos had a jalapeno doritos and I believe a sour cream doritos that were the bomb to my teen palette... There was another one but I cannot remember what flavor that one was...Jumpin Jack doritos were pretty darned good too,and I'd forgotten about them until just now...
You definitely brought some different ones Wil_Liam1!
As a child I lived in WI and we used to get Jay's potato chips. I remember they came in a box but in the box was a clear plastic bag with the chips inside. Maybe that brand is still around, but I don't see it where I live.
Thank you for watching and sharing one you used to get. I do remember those but I don't think I have seen them in awhile either.
Loved Blue Bell. Still remember the packaging. 🥰
Thank you for watching and sharing what you loved raffinataonline!
Another one that has been discontinued, sort of, are the regular non-Ripples Utz® Barbeque Potato Chips. You can still get the rippled version, and you can still get them in the little vending machine sized bags, but not in bigger bags. As you may be aware, the size of the bag correlated to the maximum size of the chips inside, so only the smaller chips, and a lot of extra packaging if you want get these chips now.
Thanks for mentioning those and the difference in them.
As a teenager I worked at a grocery store when the WoW chips were on the market. They didn’t bother me but my buddy had no clue about them. He ate an entire bag and the olestra did exactly what it was supposed to. He kept saying yo dawg you got no idea how tore up my stomach is! That’s when I showed him the warning label and he was not pleased
Wow! There was a lot of chips back in the day! Thanks, Rhetty!
Yes there were. Thank you for watching my friend!
What I would like is for the prices of the 70s & 80s to make a comeback.
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts TheOfficialZombieWhisperer!
Thanks for the video! I LOVED Nabisco Chipsters. They give me such good memories of my childhood that I spent $10 for a box on Amazon! Not Nabisco, but "Belin Chipsters" from France. Tasted just like I remember! Ahhh, memories on something so simple! 😀
You're welcome Dorothy and thank you for watching! I appreciate you sharing some memories of the Berlin Chipsters!
I remember reading an article about Wow chips in a women’s magazine when those came out. A girl went out dancing in a white mini dress after eating a ton of those chips. She claimed by the end of the night her dress looked like the white piece of paper in a pizza box. The stuff literally seeped out of her skin and got her dress oily! I never touched those things, lol.
They weren't bad tasting but they left an oily/greasy residue on my lips so I stopped eating them.
Definitely doesn't seem like a great way to sell chips does it?
Thank you sir, I always appreciate your amiable presentation style.
You're welcome and thank you for watching William!
You know, I've got a chip on my shoulder...Guacamole Dorito's, where did you go??
Thank you for watching and sharing one you enjoyed krisfrederick5001!
I miss the predominant chip brand we had in Canada called Hostess potato chips. They were bought out and replaced by Lays here. They were more fluffy and thicker than a regular Lay's chip. Kind of like a Ruffles chip but flat.
That is interesting. Were they connected to the Hostess donuts and pastries that are still around? Thank you for watching and telling us about them.
@@RhettyforHistory With a little research on the internet I think the chips are unrelated to the donuts and pastries.
One that most people have completely forgotten about were Wahoos. They weren't around very long but man they were good.
Thank you for watching and mentioning another one for us to remember Jonny!
Does anyone remember the 3d Doritos from back in the 90s I know they tried to remake them a couple years ago but they weren't the same. I really love this channel it really makes you go back down memory lane
I do remember those chips and I'm sort of surprised that they didn't stay on the market. Thank you for watching and I'm happy to know you are enjoying the channel!
My favorite that has been discontinued was a Doritos BBQ flavored chip. What I can remember was that it was an extra flavored chip (had extra seasoning) than regular Doritos and came in more than one flavor. The BBQ was my favorite. I guess it is good that it isn't around anymore, because I'd be buying it way too often.. lol.
Oh wow! Sounds like I missed out on those Doritos. They would be interesting to try so I'm all for them coming back. Thank you for watching and telling us about them!
In the early to mid 2000's, Lays and Doritos had curry flavored chips in Canada. They were completely different from any other flavor available at the time. Spicy curry seasoning, not too salty with a hint of lime. It's definitely one I'd like to see back!
That really sounds good so I would love to see those so I could try them. Thank you for watching and telling us about them!

i remember working in a hunting store back in 2015 during high school (sportsman's warehouse) and we sold our very own Larry the Cable Guy branded chips.
they weren't great and sold very poorly but my favorite flavor was the cheeseburger flavored chips and they tasted exactly like Doritos Late Night Cheeseburger chips!

Doritos had a Sour Cream and Onion flavor for a few years back in the late seventies. They were so good! Also, Bugles are still around and I can see a bag on top of my refrigerator right now.

I love Ruffles Hot Wing flavored chips! They are in stock a little while and then they stay out of stock for a very long time. I live in southwest Georgia and would love it if they were always available.
Definitely sounds like they are doing that on purpose! Thank you for watching!
Don't forget about the whole Granny Goose and Laura Scudder brands of the 70s! They branched out with other products too like Granny Goose Sickles and Laura Scudder old fashioned peanut butter! Funny looking at the ads for the Chipo's because it didn't look like there was a consistency in the spelling! One p or two! I loved the send up on The Simpsons when Homer is constantly eating "Chippo's" with the picture of a hippo on the bag! Haha!

My favorite snacks are chips. If you want to find wild and delicious flavors, find a Asian Supermarket. I hit the chip aisle whenever I go, and they have imported Lay's and Cheetos from other countries in interesting flavors. It's fun to try the different flavors out.

Thanks, Rhett. I enjoy all these memories. Here in Ohio in my neighborhood, we used to have the best chips that came in a large metal can. Thomasson's were always fresh and loved by everyone who experienced eating them. Paired with Lawson's chip dip... mouth-watering to think about. 🤤Oh, man!! I miss those. 🥔
That sounds interesting and especially with the metal tin. That would keep them fresh longer and give you something to store things in afterward. Thank you for watching and telling us about them!
I actually liked O'Boisies, O'Grady's, and the Planters chips, as well as Tato Skins. There was a time when brown Russet chips were popular. I think it was in the 80s, but I am not certain. You can still get brown potato chips, but I don't think they are Russets. Enjoyed the episode, but I think I put a couple pounds watching it! Ha!
Haha! Thank you for watching and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the episode! I appreciate you sharing some of the ones you enjoyed as well!
