I miss Sunshine Lemon Coolers !
Thank you for watching and sharing what you miss stoptheworldandletmeoff!
And Cherry Coolers,too!
Same!!!
Aldi has a seasonal offerring (in stores now) of Benton's Key Lime Cookie Thins... nothing comparable to the lemon coolers...and yet am thinking that if you enjoyed, as I did, the Lemon Coolers that you will also love these....wonderful taste to the Key Lime cookies
Sunshine Toy Cookies were my favorite!
I don’t know what’s sadder, the old cookies being gone, or seeing the old prices
Yeah. $1.99 for a pack of Oreos.😢
🤔😥👍
Yep, and Biden's gotta go.
Ding dongs in foil
Those just seemed to taste better when they were in the foil. Thank you for watching!
OMG YES than they made ones with p.b in the middle
Ok you pass the age test.
Loved Ding dongs, until they started tasting like man made chemicals, same for Ho Ho's.
Ding Dongs lost their great taste after Hostess fired their union bakers during contract negotiations or something like that. Now the frosting has the consistency of wax.
Mother’s Iced Raisin Cookies. So good and so missed. 😋
Thank you for watching and mentioning another one for us to remember maggiemea!
It's rare to find most of the original Mother's brand cookies on store shelves anymore with the exception of the iced circus animals with sprinkles and an iced unicorn variation of them. 😢
I miss Mother's Flaky Flix...chocolate covered multi layer sugar cookies rolled in corn flakes.
Aw, I remember 18 year old me working at Price Chopper buying a package of Snackwells cookies and a Clearly Canadian water and thinking I was such an adult:)
Haha! Those were both a big deal back then. Thank you for watching and sharing a memory with us.
if this was Ontario, I might have worked with you - I was there in 1997/98?
@@yoursubconscious this was 1995 in Kansas City but thanks for wondering:)
😂
I loved Clearly Canadian!!
Those elves have a lot to answer for.. The lemon cookie was my fave as a kid.
Thank you for watching and sharing your favorite with us maryrothfuchs9404!
I loved those Lemon Coolers! I'm still looking for a replacement. 😢
Thank you for watching and sharing what you loved nickimontie!
And CherryCoolers, too!
@wmalden I never had those but now I want them, too!
Not as good as Lemon Coolers but lately I've been buying Stauffer's Lemon Snaps.
@@rob068 I will give them a try. I love lemon in anything/everything 😊
I remember as a kid in the late 60's going on a picnic and having lemon coolers and ginger ale. I can almost taste them today. 🙂
Thank you for watching and sharing a memory with us JR! Definitely sounds like some good times!
That sounds so good! 😋
Those were so good.
I Adored Lemon Coolers except I would breathe the powered sugar down my windpipe and choke....just about Every Time!🤭
@@longlongshadows392 Occupational hazard 😀.
I miss lemon coolers.
Thank you for watching and sharing what you miss lindacarlton3154!
Mystic Mint! I miss those so much. They were delicious.
Thank you for watching and mentioning that one SwearMY!
Mystic Mints were the best. They were made by Nabisco and somewhat similar to Oreo mint fudge dipped, but not quite the same.
I loved those
Duuuuude. Magic Middles were the shit!
Who remembers Grasshoppers?
I remember those. Thank you for watching and mentioning them jeredalmeida1880!
Ooooh grasshoppers were good! Mmmmm...😋
Original Grasshoppers sandwich cookies were awesome. I found a picture of the original packaging online, but it won't let me include the link.
@@XianHu Yeah those are the ones I'm talking about. I like the Girl Scout variant but people forget about the sandwich cookies with the green cream filling.
@@jeredalmeida1880 Those were good, too.
I've found that Hint-O-Mint Newman-O's by Newman's Own are pretty good for anyone looking for the sandwich cookie type.
I'm 59 and I remember all of these cookies and I have eaten all of them at
one time over the years the cookies they put out today just aren't the same
Thanks for showing this.🇺🇲🍪🍫🍭🍭🍫🍪🇺🇲
I wanted to say something similar too. None of the cookies that are out today tastes good.
@SteveCirelli Totally, dude! Manufacturers want to maximize profits so little by little, they swap out cheaper ingredients until you’re left with a product that remotely tastes like it used to.
You remember Opera Creams?
You're welcome and thank you for watching Roger. There sure seems to be less of a variety than there used to be.
I agree
Lemon coolers!!! ❤
Thank you for watching Eyes2C.!
And Cherry Coolers, too!
I look forward to your videos every Saturday morning, just like cartoons back in the day. Thank you !
You're welcome and thank you for tuning in each and every Saturday Morning!
It’s amazing what your mind can forget about until you see something long forgotten again. It makes you happy to remember yet sad at the same time. Great video, thanks.
You're welcome Nate. Sometimes things disappear and we don't even realize it until they are long gone.
Oh man!! I miss Giggles! No one remembers those whenever I bring them up. I can almost taste it now just thinking about it 😅
They were different and fun which is great for a cookie choice. Thank you for watching bn80419!
I remember them!! No one else around me remembers them either!! They were soooo tasty ❤❤❤
Yea thinking about it makes me “Giggle” 😂
I loved those too!! Yum!
I forgot about Giggles until Retts video. Good stuff as with magic middles .
I was more Neutral than Switzerland during the Soft Cookie Wars. I supported all sides equally!
Thank you for watching PREPFORIT!
😂 😂😂
I miss the soft Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies
Actually P&G started the soft cookie wars when it introduced Duncan Hines soft cookies, Keebler and Nabisco just copied them.
I remember a lot of these. Makes me scratch my head why they are gone.
Thank you for watching Daehawk!
Sunshine Hydrox were SO much better than Oreos. They haven't been the same since Sunshine was bought out. Assuming you can find them, anyway...
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts Tracy!
I agree, I have said many times that Hydrox were far superior to Oreos, they just seemed to disappear at some point in my childhood, I'm still a bit salty about it. 🤨
Yep.....Oreo's are really a rip-off of Hydrox. Hydrox were lighter and tasted better.
Cracker barrel has hydrox and they are delicious
Ive been trying to buy a pack of those for a couple years now. But everyone says that they arent the same as the old Hydrox. I'm over 40 so I may have had those at some point but if I did it was a one off thing and I dont recall it.
I miss Archway's orange cookies. They were just like the frosty lemon that's still sold, but they were orange flavored instead of lemon. They were sooooooo goooooood! I miss them! I wish they'd bring them back!😭
I think I remember those , but now I want the lemon ones 😊
@@kristinholsapple2587 Well, fortunately they still make the lemon ones.🍋 They're good too. Just remember to get some next time you go shopping.👍😘
Thank you for watching and sharing one that you miss. That is definitely a different sounding one that I don't think I have tried.
I miss Archway’s date filled oatmeal cookies.
Yes, Archway is a Cookie Brand out of Cincinnati, OH!
Back when my Dad was alive (he died in 1974) on Fridays after work he would go get groceries, and inevitably he would get either Moon Pies or the 2 lb pack of store brand sandwich cookies (we had a big family), and they both were great for kids who didn't get anything sweet all the time. But sometimes he would bring in a package of Hydrox cookies, and you could definitely taste the difference between those and the store brand cookies. So good.
What a sweet memory of your dad. I remember those big packs of cookies in elementary school. When it was my turn to bring in snacks for the class. One big pack of cookies and 2 cans of Hi C.
Aww, What sweet(no pun intended)memories
Thank you for watching and sharing a memory of your Dad theodorerelic2718!
@@justmejenny7986yes those seemingly giant cans of HiC - they were a constant in my fridge growing up! You would probably bring in the little paper cups for the HiC in your class right? 😊
By far my favorite was Almonettes made by Maurice Lenell's out of Chicago.
Thank you for watching and telling us about your favorite scotttomatz6861!
Almonette cookies are still being made. They are made by Vortmann's.
Almonette s are so good!
@@SusanCox-pl9qp I think I have had them. They are pinwheels shaped, correct? They were slightly different than Marice's were. Thanks for reminding me about them.
I lived near the Burry cookie factory. The smells were amazing!!!! And the had a thrift store across the street from the factory
That really would be something to smell that all the time? Did it make you want cookies more often?
@RhettyforHistory oh yeah lolol. It was sad when it burned.
Lived by the Nabisco plant in Chicago every Sunday was Chocolate chip cookie day, the whole neighborhood smelled like chocolate chip 🫓
I lived in Elizabeth and went to that thrift store with my Mom. Loved the Fudge Towns and the big bags of crackers!
My favorite that has been discontinued is the Archway Sugar cookie. They went from the sugar cookie to the Sugar drops to discontinued!! 😢
Thank you for watching and telling us about those SuperPrefan!
Archway Ginger Snaps are pretty good.
Archway Windmill, Molasses, and Chocolate Chip Icebox cookies....all disappeared when Archway was sold out, and the new owners deliberately destroyed the brand.......
They still make the Molasses. I bought a bag just last week.
@@rob068 Archway still makes cookies just not the ones I love.. the Sugar cookies.
Flaky Flix were wafers and creme dipped in chocolate and rolled in corn flake pieces. Mother’s discontinued them so the next best thing were Keebler Fudge Sticks but then *those* were discontinued. Oh well.
Thanks again for another great video, Rhetty!
Flaky Flix were brought back for a short time, but were much sweeter, and then they were discontinued again. I used to love placing them in the freezer.
You're welcome and thank you for watching stanford-nf4jk! I appreciate you sharing some memories of some cookies!
No, they still make them and, sell them in the stores!
My favorite.
I loved the Flaky Flix cookies!! Wish they would come back
If I may add an honorable mention: Kudos. There were big and they faded away. Now, there are so many granola bars out there but damn, I want Kudos to come back.
Yes!
Those weren't cookies.
Thank you for watching and mentioning another one for us to remember. I do think they are closer to a cookie than a candy bar and they were decently big at one time.
My favorite of the original granola bars were the original crunchy ones from Hershey. Very different from the soft version that replaced them later.
@@XianHuThey weren’t the original granola bars, Kudos had a blend of candies in theirs and, also covered in chocolate and fudge, like a chewy granola bar! Nature Valley was the first Granola Brand and, they were the first one’s to come out with a granola bar! Kudos Granola Bars didn’t come out till the 80s! 8:48 Hershey never made a granola bar, Nature Valley Granola Company stated on their packaging and the commercials for a ad campaign at one point that they used only heresy chocolate and, then, The Quaker Company ended up running the same campaign for their chewy granola bars, Kudos were made by Hershey! Hershey’s a Candy Company not a Granola or Oat and Nut Company, keep that in mind!
I grew up in NJ in the 1960's and Gaucho, Mr. Chips and Fudge Town were always in my mother's kitchen. Thanks for the memories!
One of my favorite cookies was made by the Charles Chips company. Their chocolate chip cookies were really good. Back in the 80's, the company made deliveries to your house. The cookies came in a nice tin you could use to store things.
I remember having the chips delivered and we used the tins for years. I liked their chips but I don't think I ever tried the cookies. Thank you for watching and sharing one you enjoyed!
We used to get that big can of potato chips. Good old days😊
@@rochelleb973 Yes, the good ole days for sure!
Charles chips is still available online.
Our neighbors bought from charles chips truck a lot in early 1980s.
Our parents bought once in a while because we hounded them. They told us it was a bit expensive
Mothers taffy sandwich cookies were sooooo good!😢
Thank you for watching and sharing anther one for us to remember azucar2429!
My husbands favorite too!
and Mothers English tea cookies too
Growing up in Chicago, I remember Salerno Cookies and Maurice Lenell Cookies.
Salerno had a number of varieties, but the three that stand out were the butter cookie, coconut cookie and Jingles. The Jingles cookies were only available around Christmas. They were anise flavored with red and green sugar sprinkles, and were shaped liked bells, stockings and stars.
Maurice Lenell also had a variety of cookies, but the one I remember was the pinwheel cookie. Sadly, they are no longer available and that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Also grew up in Chgo. Maurice Lenell had a factory on Harlem Ave. You could buy broken cookies cheap there. My favorites were the Butterscotch♥️and yes the Pinwheels. But all the varieties in the bucket were very tasty. Yes?
P.S. Gawd I loved Jingles. Hard to find a substitute for those today. The essence of Christmas. 🎄
Thank you for watching and sharing your memories of Salerno and Maurice Lenell!
@@smorgasbroad1132 A number of years ago, I found them at Jewel Osco.
I haven't seen them since then. And, to my surprise, today I found Salerno Butter cookies at Meijer in Bloomingdale, for close to six dollars.

Sunshine Bakers loss hit our family hard. We loved the lemon, lime and cherry coolers. Also their chocolate snaps were used to make a dessert that my grandmother made. My father also preferred Hydrox cookies to Oreos. Hydrox cookies can still be purchased from Amazon.
Thank you for watching and sharing some memories of your family and cookies!
I miss Sunshine Toy Cookies the most
Love Hydox tha is for letting me know how to get some on Amazon. Now how can I get MUrice Lenell and Stella doro. Also I'm from south side of Chicago
😮
The Burry Gaucho's were so good. Sunshine also made a similar cookie. There was oatmeal in the cookie, making them different from Nutter Butter.
Besides the Sunshine Lemon Coolers, they also made an apple cider version, which had a spicy brown dusting. They disappeared long before the Lemon ones did.
Thank you for watching and sharing some memories of cookies jilllesko3057!
The cookies that I miss were made by Nabisco in the late 60s. Cookies like cinnamon and sugar cookies, apple strudel cookies, coconut and chocolate chip cookies, frosted oatmeal cookies, and oasis sabndwich cookies are some of the many cookies that Nabisco made, I wish the would bring back.😊😊😊😊
Thank you for watching and sharing some cookies that you miss raynardabraham7831!
Ooooooo frosted oatmeal cookies! Yes!
Yes, I loved all of those too.
It makes me sad because there was a big Nabisco factory where I grew up and it employed many friends and family. They would have a lot of Nabisco products to share with us.
Now it is all closed down. Very depressing ☹️
@@persephoneszeliga Wow, you lived near a Nabisco plant, that must have really been a dream come true. I wish that I could go back in time to that same Nabisco plant & enjoy all of those great tasting cookies.

They were definitely different! I'm surprised they didn't last.
Hydrox---ah yes! Especially before Keebler got their greedy mitts on them. Hydrox cookies (the ORIGINAL Hydrox cookies) were the number one best cookie ever. I was never a big fan of the white stuff inside Hydrox or Oreos, but the cookie part of a Hydrox cookie is the very best cookie EVER.
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts on Hydrox cookies williamhild1793!

Same here Russell. Thank you for watching!
Giant Supermarkets used to sell small chocolate chip cookies in a clear plastic tub. They had a little top knot. I loved those cookies because of their pleasant taste and smell. The chips were small and the cookies could be eaten by the handful. Heaven.
Costco has tub cookies like that. I bet they don't taste like the ones you remember though.

Trader Joe’s had some yummy mini-chocolate chip cookies in tubs. They were made with butter and were absolutely yummy. I haven’t seen them for a while now.
I forgot about Almost Home cookies, but always have and always will be an Oreo fan. The original of course. 😉😋😁
No matter what they come out with it's difficult to even compete with the original. Have you by chance had the Hydrox cookie? I'm just curious on your opinion of them. Thank you for watching!

I really miss Pogens. They were ginger cookies made into various shapes. They had a little legend displayed on the package that if you place the cookie in your palm and push your finger down in the center, you can make a wish come true if the cookie broke into 3 pieces. Of course, most of the time, it broke into 4 pieces, so I would use the largest shape, a leaf, to try to get my wish.
Thank you for watching and telling us about Pogens. Sounds like I really missed out on a good one!
Yes! Pogen's ginger snaps were so good! I remember the package said put a cookie in the middle of your hand, press on it, make a wish and if it breaks into 3 pieces, your wish will come true!
In the ‘60s/ ‘70s, Nabisco made Melody cookies-a dark chocolate crisp cookie with a craggy top & coarse crystal sugar.

@@RhettyforHistoryBurry had great sandwich cookies, too. Their chocolate cookies were much better than Oreos.
They just lost out due to having a worse name
@@TheInkPitOx I agree, it sounds like a 2-in-1 stain remover and weight loss supplement.
Entirely based on marketing and business tactics, not who had the superior product.
Hydrox also had both types (chocolate cookies or vanilla cookies) since at least the 70's, "Golden Oreos" didn't come out until the 2000's. I liked the both types.

Salerno butter cookies were the best! I think they were regional to the Chicago area. Also during the holidays their Christmas ‘Jingles’ were da bomb. Eventually they got bought out by Keebler and the local varieties disappeared. You can still find the butter cookies online but I hear they’re not the same…

I was thinking of Nabisco sugar cookies just the other day - they were big & flat & flower-shaped & had just the tiniest hint of lemon? Maybe orange? Some sort of citrus, but again it was just THE faintest hint (& maybe it was just in my tastebuds’ imagination lol).

My Mom would occasionally buy a cookie that was Chocolate covered marshmallow with a drop of raspberry inside. They were shaped like a mini bundt cake. The base was a thin nilla wafer type and they only came about 8 in a package. I want to say they were called Hippodrome cookies. But I may be all wrong. Anyway, they were delicious. ♥️ Does anyone remember those?

I remember having the Archway Windmill cookies and Kool-Aid at Vacation Bible School!
Keebler's Opera Cremes. Chocolate and Vanilla wafers with 4 or 6 holes in the top, sandwiched with a lemony cream frosting. Gone forever. When Oreo introduced their Lemon line, I managed to make my own version - twist a chocolate Oreo apart, scrape off the white cream, open a lemon Oreo, and put a chocolate wafer on top. No creme came out the little holes, and the lemon wafer is a bit more tart than the Opera Creme, but in a pinch they calmed down the kid in me.
And don't get me started on the Dolly Madison raspberry jelly roll cakes of the 1960s-1980s...
I really miss Dolly Madison. Thank you for watching and sharing some of your memories Shannon!
Yes yes yes, opera creams forever! Better lemon note than even lemon coolers.
I’ve found 2 different replacements for Lemon Coolers, but they are also now gone. One was through Charles Chips and the other was the Girl Scout cookie, Savannah Smiles.

One I remember from the 1970's was the Pepperidge Farm Nassau cookies. These were peanut butter flavored cookies with a layer of chocolate between the cookies. However, checking their official site, it said they no longer make them. I haven't seen this in the stores since the 2000's.
Thank you for watching and mentioning another one for us to remember chrisnemec5644!
I miss those magic middles those were so good.
They were pretty good! Thank you for watching!

I used to sit down in front of the TV on a Friday night and mow down an entire box of Snackwell mini chocolate chip cookies. So healthy.
Thank you for watching and telling us about your experience with Snackwells.
Omg that is hilarious " mow down" I thought I was being so good eating these "less fat" cookies of course I ate a sleeve in one sitting which completely defeated the purpose
Oh wow i remember the Oreo and kebler brands and i loved snackwell in the 90s ..❤
Thank you for watching Ginalopez7877!
I’m wondering if I can remember what others have disappeared off the shelves after watching this. As you just showed giggles, we had those here and I forgot all about them because they are gone from the shelves. They were called happy faces here instead of giggles. Thanks Rhett. ❤Jodie 🇦🇺 Hi Paul 👋😁🇺🇸
It really is difficult to think about some of the ones that have disappeared. Some of them came and went pretty fast. Thank you for watching Jodie!
It's been almost 30 years, but I remember the PB and Chocolate Crisps fondly.
Thank you for watching and letting us know you remember them elbuenohombre!
Loved Stella D’Oro Anisette Sponge. BURRY’S also made Scooter Pies which were similar to Moon Pies.
Thank you for watching and sharing a couple that you have enjoyed!
I haven't seen Stella D'Oro products for a long time. They were supposedly sold off to Nabisco who apparently no longer makes them.
@@jamescooley5744 Yes, it is a shame, they were considered ‘Fancy’ Cookies for adults. Sometimes you can still find Anisette Toast which has a longer shelf life but it tastes stale and not very flavorful. They made several varieties of cookies including Breakfast Treats, Marguerite, Swiss Fudge and the famous ‘Lady Stella’ assortment.
A Dad's Cookie bakery on Progress, a short bike ride away. Buy a bag of nothing wrong with them oatmeal cookies, and a pint of milk. Head to the school yard. Sit on the swings open the milk and commence dunking. Try to think up an excuse for not being hungry at dinner.
Thank you for watching m1t2a1!
Dude you forgot Mystic Mints and Dunkaroo's!! I never liked store bought cookies much...cookies are so easy to make. I used to love Keebler's Pecan Sandies which are still available but they do not taste as good as they did in the 80's 😏
Funny thing is Dunkaroos are back. Maybe not as popular but they are still being sold. Thank you for watching pinksparkle258!
I remember a cookie in the early 80's called Iscreams. I loved those. Wish they would make a comeback.
Thank you for watching and letting us know one you would like to see back idyllicmoon3651!
Oh yah the soft cookies I remember those in the 80s 😢
Thank you for watching theonlyonestanding8079!
Great video! Magic Middles were really great! Shortbread and fudge are a great combination!
Thank you for watching volstar8 and sharing your memories of Magic Middles!
You can still get Hydrox cookies at Cracker Barrel restaurants. They have them in the gift shop store.
Thank you for watching and letting us know about them being at Cracker Barrel!
What a great walk down memory lane! Have to say my most missed store bought cookies are Sunshine Lemon Coolers and Sunshine Yum Yums!
I snuck an EL Fudge once in a while. My stepmom kept them behind the drain board with a strict hands off rule. I remember the “these are for me not you” speech like it was yesterday. I had those things smack dab in front of my face while I washed dishes. Over the years I think I may had stolen a total of four EL fudge cookies. (Rough approximation) I trust she won’t find out.
Thank you for watching and sharing some memories of EL Fudge!
I remember the SnackWells devils food cake when I worked EMS. There was one hospital in our region that had a killer EMS room, where we could stock up on snacks during our shift. Nestled among the Bang energy drinks, granola bars and slim Jim’s were the SnackWells; I think I grabbed one every time I went through. I guess I never realized they were gone as I left EMS in late 2021, and only ever ate them on the weewoo wagon
Thank you for watching and sharing some memories of Snackwells LlamaBobby!
Your videos bring me joy and you voice is very comforting. Well done!
Thank you and I appreciate you watching. I'm happy to hear you are enjoying the videos!
Yes! Salerno butter cookies with the hole in the middle were a favorite. My grandma got Jingles at Christmas. I also miss my favorite: Sunshine Toy Cookies
Thank you for watching and sharing some of your favorites bobhester369!
Reese's used to have a peanut butter cup with a cookie bottom .they don't anymore.
That sounds interesting. I feel like I missed out on that one.
I miss Magic Middles the most. Man those were good.
