  • The 928 has been an incredible car and a ton of fun. There are also a couple of modifications that make it so much more fun to drive as well. Highly recommended!

I love the 928. Such a unique and fun/fast for the time car. Jeremy Clarkson said it succinctly

I’ve owned 3 914s - but the ‘28 has always held a place in my heart. The complete polar opposite of my car. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Definitely the only 928 video with an empty 5 gallon bucket in the front seat.

This was, is and always will be my dream car. In 1992, while in the UK, I had a chance to buy one for less than 10K (which was a steal). Unfortunately, shipping to Canada would have cost an arm, a leg and both kidneys. It was right hand drive, of course, but I did not care. One day maybe...

I only meant to own a 928 S4 for a couple of years and move on. I ended up loving my jet black beauty and its personality for 13 years. Driving it is not exactly Gods perfect sports car drive. But how gorgeous that ride, comfort and how effortless the v8 power was, it’s very hard to overrate. Just its presence, it’s like no other on this earth, simply legendary.

Had my 80 928 since 87 and now I think the things that don't work outnumber the things that do.

I drove my '85 S2 5 speed for over 19 years. I loved the car but just got tired of it. The Porsche dealer gave me a great trade in value on it.
Mine had the Ott X-pipe, a Porken ignition chip, and a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. A wide band A/F meter sat in the glove box and really allowed me to tune the car to perfection. It was fast, down in the 13's in a quarter mile and the Borla dual exhaust setup really made it sound good!
    Great video!

You have great taste in cars, this would be my favourite not biased as I also have one
Car is sounding great, at some point I need to look at exhaust on mine as welding up more and more holes and X pipe might be the answer
The 360 camera makes the sunroof look really big but we both know its the worlds smallest
    Cheers or sharing your eperiences

FWIW, those odometers can be fixed relatively easily. Its the plastic gear that got brittle and stripped. (Same deal with the 944s; had them for years and had the same issue).

i like the idea of just driving an old luxury car. no polishing, no wahsing, maintain what it is necessary and thats it. it would give kind of a mad max feeling🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Change the fuel line behind the MAF sensor, under the fuel cooler.

It might be shaking because the tyres are almost flat. Nice cars btw and love the real estate

They aren't flat, just low profile. It only shakes when the clutch is engaged.

I just seen another video about the 928. They noted bad engine or transmission mounts for vibrations. I’m About to buy a 928 myself.

I've owned my 1986 Porsche 928S 32v manual for 22 years and it has almost 200k miles. The timing and water pump were replaced in 2002 however it's a weekend car so the belt has less than 30k miles and it's driven in San Diego. If the belt snaps, I'm considering a Tesla motor. 😅. BTW bad engine mounts cause shaking.
