“Brain Energy” and Dr. Palmer’s work has changed my life. I am a nutritionist, counselor and life-long sufferer of severe depression, C-PTSD and anxiety (with panic disorder). I happened upon one of his first podcasts talking about the book in early December 2022. Immediately downloaded the audio book and binge listened. LIFE CHANGING! I started a therapeutic keto diet the next day.
This is the ONLY time in my adult life that I have truly felt hopeful and not depressed!!! Dr. Palmer putting these puzzle pieces together and sharing it with the world is miraculous! This book should be read immediately but not only those who suffer from mental illness but anyone suffering from chronic disease. The link with inflammation/ chronic disease/ mental illness and metabolic disorder is just a no-brainer after reading the book!!! The lights come on! May this book and this info get into the hands of everyone.
Thank you for an incredible interview! Bringing this life-changing info to the forefront.

Brilliant man who talks about mental illness in such a relatable realistic and grounding way that sure takes me back to my college years and what happened and with whom and why. Fascinating to piece all the issues together and to know that someone is looking out for this population of people that far to often are forgotten about or told are insignificant as daily occurrences. That being said we need better treatments than just diet. Cleaning up diet is great and OK but we need better mitocondrial treatments that target these core issues in schizophrenia, bipolar and addictive disorders

Two to five years is probably for life when you are 83 years old. I am tapering from 30+ years of 1 my of Klonopin. I've been keto for 1 year and down to .25 mg K. Having very bad w/d symptoms not leveling off. How long should I keep going down on this med or should I just stop. I've actually had w/d for over 8 years not knowing that this drug was the cause. Though I brought this up to my doctors they told me I was just getting older and should go to the gym. Do I have enough time to and will I ever get over this?

    • @MedicatingNormal
      @MedicatingNormal  Год назад +10

0.25mg of Klonopin is equivalent to 5mg Valium. That's way too big of a dose to stop. Most people continue to much smaller doses before stopping their taper. Everyone's timelines for tapering and healing are different - it's simply not predictable from one person to the next. So very sorry for your suffering.

After decades on a WFPB vegan diet, I finally had to admit that it was not optimizing my health.
Now, 2 years after adopting a ketogenic, then carnivore diet, my health is better than it has been in over 50 years. Perfect lab results, better energy, I've added muscle (an accomplishment at 70) and I absolutely feel better than I can remember.
The list of symptoms I no longer have is long.
I wish more doctors would learn about this way of eating and all if the benefits.

Hi i need help! I been on zoloft for 16 years. I get extreme anxiety when I get off, it lasted 2 months 24/7 for me however afterwards I got anhedonia depersonalisation and cognitive decline, I also can't look at words , think too hard , or looked things with details such as pictures tv or even driving with out my frontal lobe feeling like its burning. Its 10 months now and I can't work nor go out (I caught covid recently and it made it 10x worse). I started to get tremors in my whole body too.
Is this normal ? Am I out of withdraeal but something else came back ? (Mri came back normal ... )
How do I get better ? What support can I have ? Drs telling me drugs out of your system in 2 weeks you would be fine.

Hi, Unfortunately, the withdrawal symptoms you describe are typical. They can persist for many months and even years in some people.
There are various support groups and forums that exist online - many on Facebook, another is survivingantidepressants.org.
Sadly, many doctors do not understand withdrawal and will say ignorant things like, "it's out of your system," as was said to you. This is commonly reported by patients who are enduring these withdrawal syndromes.

With no science backing his claims this seems no more than advertising for the fad diet.

To disinguish between saying there is "no science to back his claims", to then disclaiming that you meant there was no science shown in this podcast, are two very different
      statments. Best wishes.

@@gailkoelmeyer7650 Also he doesn't mention if there are any negative issues, long term issues, downsides, etc.
This video is a very bad advertising for his new book.
After all I have endured and now know I tend to be very wary of any "psychiatrist".
Many sell many diets as miraculous, do we have to blindly believe them?
      Best wishes.
