- The Isle finally had its once every 3 morbillion years update, so it's time to check it out. It's... not bad. It's not amazing either. The balance is wacky. At least skin customization is cool though.

I love how they not only killed AI spawn, reduced boar value, but also increased metabolism so we have to constantly hunt instead of being allowed to relax after nerfing tracking so hard it's practically useless. Thanks Isle!

Funnily enough, I left a fairly simple comment in general feedback saying to "fix the shit that broke from the new update." Which got some support.
I went back to have a look and see if it got more traction, and it was deleted without a word from moderation. Seems they still can't handle being called out!
Update once again!
So as of this update, the Isle had an update and a hot fix on 8/12. Seemingly though its fixed some things, it has also made a lot of issues worse. Again. How do they manage to make things worse for a month straight lmfao
Basically forces you to join packed, highly competitve servers. Increasing metabolism especially just makes zero sense.
Tracking is fine, you just need to actually put bleed on your target to reliably track it now instead of having 24/7 wall hacks like before.
Exactly! Nobody is nesting because you need to constantly be moving in order to not starve. After a successful hunt you need to immediately start looking for more things to kill or you'll die of starvation in 20 minutes.

For how amazing their trailers look I’m disappointed in how this game looks after all these years. Also, RUclips’s compression HATES the isle, sometimes the video just becomes a mass of blurry pixels because of all the grass.

It does become really blurry I do agree but it also depends on ur internet because mine will be blurry the first few minutes and it will become clear so idk depends on if u use data or wi Fi
It looked great before this update they really fucked up the graphics somehow not to mention the optimisation. Granted that was still terrible before this update but now it’s worse
Update 5 was very underwhelming imo, We seriously waited 6 months for eggs and skins.

Ikr, we had all of that in the base game and imo it was kinda better. We didn’t have to trade already existing mechanics for unreasonable debuffs.
I know that it's a game and people shouldn't be able to survive completely on AI but that chicken would realistically fill a utah to %100 and it wouldn't have to eat anything for like a couple days
and as annoying as sitting on top of a corpse was in rule servers in legacy it was nice to chill out for a while after a hunt instead of constantly looking for food
if TI decided it was going for realism it would need another recode

Hot damn, the class that specializes in hunting actually has to worry about hunting now instead of just being fed for free from ai. I was in a group of 3 Carnos the other day and one single Teno body fed us all to nearly full, stop pretending like carnivores are just starving simulator now.
what? that chicken would NOT fill a 450 kg utahraptor.
Honestly the fact we have chicken as AI is already pretty dumb.

Shadow the Utah has to be my favorite character in the Peskyverse.
Glad to know I wasn't the only one seeing how bad the trees looked in the distance and bad fps.
Funniest thing I've seen from Utahs in update 5, is a pack of 4 adults
running around the beach killing and eating turtles, a food that's not even on their diet.
Most Utah players are mixpackers or cowards now, few are up for teamwork and coordinated hunts.
As a Utah player, I'm disappointed.
Yeah... well... I guess it's carno time to kill them like the pest they were in update 3 haha
I've seen a pack of 20 wrecking everything
I've seen quite a couple of utah packs actually go out and hunt. I somehow kept my carno from update 4.5 in one of the official servers which was fully grown, and since I didn't want to keep the default skin, I decided to run around and see if anything wanted to fight me so I could go down with a fight. I ended up fighting a pack of utahs, they did very well, I managed to kill a lot of them until I bled out. Very fun fight now that pounce actually works, at least now I don't feel like a god against utahs while playing as carno, which is actually nice.

I love how Dondi's brainwashed minions on discord's discussion channel keep pretending it's normal for an update to be in development for 7 months and then come out all messed up. A dumbass told me: "It's an update, what did you expect" According to them, the low fps is also not the dev's fault, it's our fault for having a bad computer.
They're brainwashed into supporting the devs at any cost, arguing with them is like arguing with 5 year olds.
Thank you. Another thing according to them: “it’s in beta, of course it’s not gonna be completely playable” yes, like it being in beta excuses the game being completely unplayable to the majority of the fan base.
When i tried to join, it took me over 5 minutes for the map to load, while i kept getting clipped onto the ground and lost my dinosaur, they ignored my plea for help for over 5 times, and when they finally answered, probably my computer. Oh no, not me with a computer that can handle RDR2! They are really lacking in optimization in this, not surprised.

All dino games are like this at this point and its honestly horrific. The entire genre is full of self-centered egotistical devs and their army of brainwashed discord players... Sad to see a genre with so much promise go to waste like this tbh.
How many years passed since evrima, since legacy, the devs are not worth it the trust or money, its a failed project.
They literally made sure there wasn’t any blue for carno just to make sure this man did not get to make his skin 😭😭😭

Update 5 is definitely one of the updates of gaming history
I guess finding a good nice balance for food drain is hard.
A grey wolf weighs on average 40 kg (90 lbs.) and needs an average minimum of 1,1 kg (2,5 lbs.) to survive, but more to successfully reproduce. Thats 2,75% of its body weight.
If an Utahraptor has the same metabolic rate and it weighs 500 kg (1100 lbs.) it would need to eat 13,75 kg (30 lbs.) a day to not starve. With how long the isle days are, 4 adult utah raptors with a combined weight of 2000 kg could live 32 days of an adult carno carcass weighing 1800 kg if it would be 100% edible for them.
Now... how do you balance that so that it's fun with The Isle days taking roughly 17 minutes. Do you want to encourage PvP or can a utah Pack eat a boar every 17 minutes and be well off? Just asking questions

@@indigo2018 So the stats i took for weight for our beloved dinosaur are the current weights of adult animals on Evrima. I didnt look into how long food drain takes etc., i was just trying to question: "How the heck do we want to balance this?" is actually not that easy of a question when considering a survival game. But it would be great to get some actual numbers of food drain and stuff!
After all, is it fun for 4 adult utahs to not have to hunt anything after killing an adult carno for 9 hours, because that's how long the body keeps them fed?
It's really not that hard to adjust basic values. It would take them playing the game for a week with different dinos if they actually knew what they were doing with the game.
But that's one of the many issues with the dev team, they have absolutely no idea what they are making.
The lighting looks bad like there’s always some kind of an eclipse. I’m not a fan of the nighttime graphics either, the only additions I want to see are more fish in the rivers and maybe a couple playable river monsters. Maybe within the next decade! Lol
Yeah the lighting made me stop playing... waiting on better lighting lol. The Addition that I'd love are things you can do as a dino, like rubbing on trees, playing, bathing and climbing. As well as natural disasters, to not make it as boring when no other players are around, aswell as giving your dino more personality
They said they'll fix the night being too dark in a hotfix until night vision is out, which they made dark again for some freaking reason.
@@SirKolass Probably them planning on testing for night vision soon. Glad they're releasing that hotfix for the time being.
@@ihavenoidea5845 They will add weather in the future, I'm also hoping to see them add social interactions and be able to have more personality to your dino. I think they plan to do that once they have finished most mechanics and added more dinos. Evrima will probably be complete in like 8 years...I guess, it's worth the wait
@@AvengedPanzer Yeah they will add it they said... but if they take so long to put out player with player interactions, I think it would be really nice while we wait for it to not have as much dead screen time while we can't interact with other players.
But yeah, it probably will almost take a decade to finish, if the game doesn't die out by then
I guess that carno can’t fill up with 1 utah is cause the game doesn’t want you to fill up that easily when clearly utah is the size of the body of the carno
another change to the hunger system: swallowing an entire ass fish as ptera will give only 1/5 of max hunger.

But yeah i agree with what you said about food and hunger, its ridiculous) also as a hatchling you need to eat immediately or you'll starve, but its buggy thing for the parent to feed you so good luck😂 even as just a fresh spawn you have so little time to find food its dumb

Its fine when a hatchling needs food frequently, its a different story when a couple carnos need to eat a whole utah every 10 minutes
This is one of the dinosaur games of all time, the frames happen, the dinosaurs are there and the developers exist

Also, with the new update it is so hard to play as a ptera. The fish float in the air (while still in the animation of swimming in a group,) and slowly float down into the water. You cant get them while in the air, and when they finally get down into the water, you cant skim to eat them because they sit there.
It is so hard to hunt because you have such little health and you start with such little food.
I've noticed the floating fish doesn't affect being able to skim catch them like normal if u fish where they are "supposed to be". Just cant peck them, very weird. :/

Okay so I finally got into Evrima and I actually enjoy it quite a bit. Haven't bothered nesting yet but I love making skins to fit the different types of terrain I stick to. And I love seeing different people's skins, so I can distinguish who they are and stuff.

the update was pretty nice, found a few bugs like flying fish lol but that's been fixed now. also for me it was bright as heck at night and not void, but I guess it varies for everyone. also loved that fps was better in this update, my 1080ti went from a constant 60-70fps before to over 100 now with the update.

I also recently experienced flying fish schools and a land coelacanth. I have the recording on my channel, it was weird to see it last night but pretty funny. Hopefully the devs can figure out how to make the fish obey the laws of physics and the laws of nature lol

Press the windows key + R then type ccrw (it was I think) and then you should be able to brighten your screen.

With the Carno bleed resist nerfs Shifty still casually obliterated 4 Utahs and caused the other 3 or 4 to run away, stop coping.
I almost obliterated a pack of 10+ utahs as carno, there were like 3 or 4 left when I finally bled out. The carno blood resistance nerfs is honestly fine, carno kind of needed a nerf anyway, hoping its hitbox also got fixed so it isn't able to hit utahs from 300 feet away.
@@AvengedPanzer A good player still won't bleed out in 5 seconds like the one in the video because a good player won't run around like a headless chicken refusing to buck or use terrain. The bleed resist nerfs were perfectly fine, Pesky is just mad Carno can't shrug off 6 pounces by standing still anymore.
@@karenboy1005 Agreed. I really like the idea of using terrain rather than being able to run around after being pounced 6 times. Really wish they would do something about the dismount so we could actually fight stegos, but stegos still take like over 10 pounces even if they don't buck.
