- In their pursuit of Sonic, the heroes have walked right into the hornet's nest. There's only a dozen of them, versus an entire army. The Eggman Fleet and an incomprehensible number of Sonic Androids are approaching.
With Shadow still missing, the added assistance of Silver and Metal Sonic will help. But will it be enough? The odds are against them. It's a desperate fight for survival. Even if they manage to gain ground, how can they overcome the unrestrained power of the real Sonic?

I bet Shadow remembered the Black Arms and knew that they would be the only thing that could defeat the Sonic Androids. He went to the Black Comet, defeated Black Doom for the throne, and uses the Black Arms to destroy the Sonic Androids, goes into Super State, uses his Chaos abilities to restore Sonic's memories, and Dr. Eggman's empire falls to ashes as defeat is inevitable.

Shadow didnt know about the reason he was created and already had a fuzzy memory in SA2, so he doesnt have knowledge of the black arms.
What must of happened is he went to go get GUNs help and ended up interacting with the Black Aliens by accident.

Shadow, realizing the heroes need more numbers and firepower, went back to the human word in order to gain their aid, but the sudden arrival of the Black Comet forces events similar to Shadow the Hedgehog to take place. Only Shadow still had all his memories, most importantly those of Maria and Gerald (though he likely still didn't immediately know the kind of man the professor was before he went insane), so Doom attempting to manipulate him was merely an exercise in futility. Still, their presence gave Shadow an idea: what if he could take control of the Black Arms and use their forces to combat the androids in Sonic's worlds? And thus, Shadow defeated Doom for control of the army, and used his super form to forcefully warp the comet to Sonic's world (by doing this, he's not only assisting his friends back on their homeworld, but also still keeping his word to Maria by ridding the human world of the alien threat).

Here’s my theory about “Black Shadow.”
While the Heroes were fighting Sonic and the Eggman Empire on Sonic’s Planet, Shadow encouraged the Black Arms back on Earth.
Shadow was most likely drawn back to Earth by Doom’s Eye to assist the Black Arms in the conquest of earth. Unfortunately for them, shadow still has all of his memories so it was harder to manipulate him. Similar to win the game Shadow defeats the Black Arms and saves Earth. But instead of wiping the species out, he replaces Black Doom as head of the Black Arms. Shadow would do this sense the heroes needed an army to defeat the Sonic Androids, and what better army is there than One consisting of thousands of astonishingly powerful aliens led by the Ultimate Lifeform?
This theory might be true. I wrote it without mistakes? Yes/No?

The question is: How could he do all of this in so little time?
I've been known to be wrong but my gut is telling me it's just to throw us off. But then again, I'm sleep deprived so I'm probably misplacing Shadow's whereabouts like a total idiot 🙃

So I'm having a feeling that Part 5 will have a bulk of the backstory in why we suddenly see Shadow with the Black Arms. Though I have a few theories myself:
1. True Ending of Shadow - This would be the moment that Shadow finds out he was created with a sample of Black Doom's blood. If the invasion of the Black Arms is currently happening now, then a simple change in the line up of events might've taken place while Shadow was finding the Chaos Emeralds.
2. Possession of Shadow - I saw another user put this theory out, which might be interesting. Black Doom "possesses" Shadow, but at the same time...this could also be the fact that Black Doom is using his Mind Control on him instead...but then again, this probably isn't the case as Shadow seems to be the stronger one out on this.
3. Vegeta Route - Now this happens to just be my bit of thoughts as well as my favorite out of the theories. Basically, this goes to the Majin Vegeta route for Shadow. You want to get through to Sonic? Then you'll need to get yourself power as well...even if you have to sell your soul for it. One extreme to stop another extreme.

It's okay, neither did I but I've seen a walkthrough. Been a while, though
I have never played it either, but I know about the Black Arms. They are a group of aliens that share DNA with Shadow. The previous leader of the Black Arms, Black Doom, used this as an advantage to control Shadow's mind and almost kill the world with this advantage. But then Shadow remembers his dead girlfriend and breaks free from Doom's control.
There are multiple endings to this game alongside a terrible plot, so I wouldn't recommend it. Sure, I haven't played this game, but I have seen things...

I can imagine shadow, silver, metal and sonic having a stare down while black arm forces and sonic androids are ripping eachother apart in the background, then electricity starts forming around them sonics being blue, shadows being orange, metals being purple, and silver having a cyan glow and the four begin their fight

This what if has been amazing so far, I guess the question is given the nature of the game Shadow the Hedgehog, we're either in the darkest of dark timelines or the good that shadow has in the short time of being back has been enough that he managed to go back to the ark stumbled across the info on the black arms and whooped there butts / convinced them he was on their side long enough to to gain their trust to have a force to fight the dark sonic threat

Interesting, even though he's fighting against is now-enemies, Sonic is still suffering from past memories. Maybe this could be a decisive point towards his recovery.
But your finale of Shadow commanding the Black Arms, invading the Sonic World, while we all thought he was searching for the Chaos Emeralds... To quote a famous phrase from an old cartoon: "IT JUST DON'T ADD UP!!" What happen in between the parts? Wasn't he on the good side because of no memory loss? Why is he wearing those clothes? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!

What if Tails gets captured and due to experiments with the chaos emeralds and master emerald, causing him to gain Unlimited condition, Telepathy, Telekinesis, and the power to create pocket dimension bubbles which allow him to control like a lucid dream. Quite a stretch, I know, and very broken.

Huh. Don’t remember this ending of Shadow The Hedgehog. So I’m assuming somehow during all of this, Shadow has already gone trough the events of that game and gotten the Chaos Emeralds. He’s overthrown Black Doom, (as suggested by the attire change that didn’t even happen in the Dark Routes,) But is still a “good guy.” He’s not here to betray everybody, he’s here to help. Chaos Emeralds in hand, as promised. That’s my theory anyway. If so, we may get a Super Sonic and Super Shadow fight. And if not, we may add 3 way brawl with Super Sonic, Super Shadow, And Super Silver, with the first two trying to kill each other, while Silver just tries to restrain them. Who knows? Either way, this should be good.

Or he killed black doom and became king of the black arms so he could bring an army to help him and the heroes defeat eggman and restore Sonic's memories and contrary to what you think black doom's real name was doom he called himself black doom because he was king of the black arms so sense shadow killed him and took his place as king of black arms he now has to call himself black shadow and also the black arms are just soldiers who follow their leaders orders so they won't try to conquer the earth and if they try to betray shadow he can just chaos blast them into oblivion
I would postulate that Shadow mostly defeated Black Doom, like (spoiler alert) he did at the end of his game's true story. Perhaps, sometime afterwards, he got involved with the Black Arms again for yet-to-be-known reasons and his Black Arms' genes were reactivated, as a result. Since it is highly unlikely that Shadow could be mentally controlled by Black Doom, his essence could be parasitic in nature. In other words, it's possible for Shadow to be his new "vessel," or host. However, I believe this to be unlikely, as well.
I guess we'll have to wait and see. > 3

Wow that ending really caught me off guard, that was nowhere on my radar of things that could've happened then. I am so excited to see where this goes.
Theory:
Remember, Sonic is the one who lost his memory, not Shadow. So Shadow knows the Black arms were coming back, he knew exactly when. He also knew Black dooms intentions and Maria's last wish. So, he decided to put people and his dearest Maria first. So he staged a coup in the Black arms and overthrew Black doom (probably killing him). He also knew that the Sonic androids were coming and knew the doctors tricks, so he used the black arms to stop Eggman and the Sonic Android. Shadow will later realize that the Black Arms hold a grudge against humans (and sonic's world if it counts). Therefore, he uses the eclipse cannon to destroy the comet and make him the only surviving in the black arms bloodline.

I have a theory about the ending since shadow still has his memories he remembers the black arms and gathered the chaos emeralds to kill black doom to take control of the army to use against the Androids

wow this is the biggest comeback ive ever seen but im not going to talk about it to not spoil what happens,but still great job i cant wait for part 5.
While watching this I was all like,

And then when it came time for Knuckles and Metal to fight Sonic I was just sitting there with pleasure, thinking,

On a more serious note, this video was awesome! I love the setup, and the Egg Dealer!? I have never played a Sonic game in my life but I've heard of that and the people have wanted that thing back for some reason. You've done a fantastic job at making this video seem like it could take place within the game universe after SA2! Like seriously scourge! You've outdone yourself a lot recently, even releasing videos back to back! Like when I saw the last What If and when you announced that there was gonna be another video out for part 4 sooner than expected, I went coo coo crazy, thinking it wasn't out yet when it really WAS!

From one cliffhanger to another, you've got us all invested. I have to say, I love the vocal direction for Sonic here, how he still kind of sounds like Sonic but less friendly, kind of giving me a slight Shadow vibe. Also the trope of a character losing all their memories or being brainwashed and becoming terrifying with their true capabilities is an amazing trope.
I just want to say your new background looks really cool.

Did Shadow completely gone bonkers and just aligned himself with the villains because he can’t take it anymore with the Earthlings?
My Prediction: Shadow Got All of the Chaos Emeralds, goes Super, goes to the Human World and sees the Black Comet, makes a deal with his biological father/Black Doom to stop Eggman from killing his friends and stop Eggman forever. Shadow teleports the Black Comet to Sonic’s World to bring the army here to finish Eggman forever.
Yeah, I say he just remembered he's related to black doom and then booted black doom out and is now the king.

What if Blaze along with the Sol Emeralds couldn't return to her world
@Gabriel Jose Limas I would call that event the neutral timeline. In my opinion, if they did collide, that future would become the doomsday timeline something that would have happened if they failed to defeat the Eggmans in Rush.
I would rather it be almost like the ending but for some unknown reason (turns out to be both sets of emeralds) Blaze is stuck in Sonic's world. No merged worlds being the reason
The extra chapter (Super Sonic and Burning Blaze) still happens but Blaze, the Sol Emeralds,and Eggman Nega never returned to Blaze's world
@Gabriel Jose Limas I don't think that would happen because technically blaze was originally from Sonic's world as evidente by sonic o6 and when she absorbed iblis she was sent to another dimension and became a child again and forgot all of her memories from Sonic's world including o6
@Gabriel Jose Limas but it did technically happen because sonic remembers all of it and in the next game we saw silver sonic has an inner monolog and he says silver what is he doing here and then when he talks to silver he acts dumb like he's never met him at all even though he has and in order for him to have remembered silver he must remember all of o6 and that's also why crisis city was in sonic generations because some of the places were tooken from Sonic's memories and I believe that when silver and blaze were placed at crisis city they got there memories of o6 back but didn't say anything and I think that's why silver hangs around in the past all the time

I did not think of that also I had an idea for a what if it is what if sonic never met tails now at first it might be a bit basic and sound like an 8 year old came up with it but when you start to think about it’s really interesting for example since sonic never met tails he would probably have to pilot the tornado himself to get to wing fortress or how would he get to angel island or defeat eggman in marble garden

ChaddyFantome well in the canon of this story it might not exist at all. With these theories only things that have relevance to what’s happening will be mentioned. It either doesn’t exist in the story Sega Scourge is telling or it isn’t it’s time to show up. This theory is still sonic heroes, we haven’t gotten to shadow the hedgehog yet. The black comet doesn’t matter in the story so it most likely won’t make an appearance in the story

I’m gonna call it now, the climax of this what if will be Super Shadow vs Super Sonic, in which seeing Shadow in his Super form will trigger Sonic to have a flashback of his sacrifice and thus regaining his memories.
I really like your Sonic:“What If Series”. I have an idea for the ending or the middle of the ending, I'll let you pick. Since Sonic believes Tails is a villain because of what Eggman said he may want to go after Tails. My idea is something happened that put Sonic's life on the line and Tails saves him. By doing that Tails' life became a life and death scenario. Sonic ask's why he saved him. Tails would tell him even though Sonic can't remember the truth. He remembers and even after all the things that happened he still believes that his Big brother is still in there. Than Tails passed out after hearing Tails call him Big brother. Sonic get's his memory back or remembers who Tails is Your choice. I just think if anyone can bring Sonic back it's Tails because their bond is the strongest! P.S. It will be cool to see a “What If” Eggman used the Phantom Ruby or prototype on Sonic during Sonic's imprisonment in Sonic Forces.
Also, can't wait for this! I was so mad at the cliffhanger yesterday lol.

That twist at the end was SO surprising. I think that he must have encountered black doom and he beat him so then he became the leader.
Ooohhh, it turned quite epic at the end.
The cast can't catch a break, can they? First they lose Sonic to Eggman, now Shadow turned traitor and joined Black Doom. This entire story is one massive gut punch.
That Shadow twist really threw me for a loop and a half.
Now Emerl isn't the only one keeping me on the edge of my seat.
Damn! This was amazing! Can’t wait to see part 5! I have a small idea what can happen next, tho some people might not like it. So! Eggman, Sonic androids and the heroes will first start attacking shadow and the Black arms. Half way through the fight sonic is defeated by shadow and Tails or knuckles have a idea. Using a warp ring they would take both Metal Sonic and Sonic to the master emerald, where the 7 chaos emeralds are also at due to shadow collecting them before going to the Black arms. Knuckles or tails would explain the plan that if both sonic and Metal become super, or even Hyper they could take down the Black arms and shadow. Sonic would first refuse and Metal would still be tempted to kill sonic, tho probably some convincing to Metal about how if doesn’t his early model, Mecha Sonic, would be superior to metal cause he could’ve use the master emerald to become super or something along those lines, and again, either Tails or knuckles would tell sonic that using the master emerald will explain everything to sonic. So after both of them stand on the master emerald, sonic could become either Super or Hyper Sonic, and Metal could also become one of those, or maybe he could become Metal Overlord, but least monster looking and more hedgehog looking if you get what I’m saying. Using another warp ring they would return to the battle, where both the heroes and Eggman forces are loosing. Sonic and Metal could work together to take down the Black arms and shadow. That’s all I got for now 😅. Even if it doesn’t go kinda like this, I’m still excited to see what will happen

No even if he remembers everything there will still be more to the story so it would still continue Sonic's personality might be a little bit of mixture between his normal and this one after he gets his memory's back or he could have sonic only remember how he met tails but realistically he'll end up remembering everything after super shadow use the chaos energy on him because sonic controls the chaos emeralds and is connected to him so it would realistically make remember everything
