    Nice!! What are the rim build specs?? I have my original R.L. Edges Wheels, bought from Rockville BMX back in '87...Braking was always difficult and the shoes never locked up...I always cleaned the edge rim wall with simple green...Never snapped the center bolt on my Nippons.

    • @rgw1380rw
      @rgw1380rw  4 года назад +1

      1.The rims are 20' Odyssey Hazard Lite's (36H)
      2. The spokes are custom cut DT Swiss'. I may still have the exact lengths written down at home🤔.
      3. The front hub is a low flanged Novatec "Rebel" Hub. (3/8th hollow axle)
      4. The rear Hub is an Odyssey "Clutch" V2 Freecoaster. (14mm hollow axle)
      My brakes run pretty good, but will loudly squeal on occasion. When the squealing starts, I clean any excess dirt or rubber traces from the braking surface with rubbing alcohol.
      Is/was Rockville BMX located in Rockville Center Long Island?

      The name "Jest" sounds familiar🤔? I think he had a very distinct "J" in his tag, and it was similar to a reversed lowercase "t" with a bit of style.
      I was thinking about building a hybrid freestyle/flatland bike in the near future. I wanted a Haro Bashguard Master, GT, Odyssey setup. It's going to cost me a nice grip, but anything retro/reissued retro will cost nowadays. Many of us did ourselves a serious disservice by throwing out our top of the line freestyle bikes from back in the day. Those things can sell for over a grand to guys who want the original bike from the 80's - early 2,000's. Some dedicated collectors have about 20 grand in old/mid school freestyle bikes in their collection. A fully restored 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour, or a fully restored GT Show are my dream bikes☝️😍!

Heritage is the company that now owns the GT/Dyno brand. You remember when your own homeboy might steal your bike back in the day? People always wonder why I never lay my bike outside any store in 2020😂! When you possibly had to fight for your bike in your youth, you take extra precautions with certain things because you learned to be overprotective of something as simple as a bike. My current bike gets plenty attention from guys in my age group, plus the younger guys that most likely have fathers and uncles that were buying or stealing them in the 80's and 90's.

      @@Seraphim_skateboards I noticed a new crank and stem in another one of your posted videos. As for me, I hadn't gotten into the trick riding because I didn't live around people that were into really pulling stunts. The GT was just the preferred brand for guys that are in my age group back in the late 80's through the early 2,000's. There was an older guy that would fix bikes in my former neighborhood, but I couldn't really go across the street because of my age back then. I would see him doing what I later found out was early flatland riding, and did like how he'd do all that he was doing. If I had to pick a skill that I'd like to learn, it definitely would be flatland riding. It's like those guys are break dancing with a bike☝😀! There are some guys that occasionally come to my current neighborhood in Jamaica NYC to do their street riding in the park across the street, then post the footage here on YT. Since my uncle is an electrician by trade, he's always been into the various electronics that have been used throughout the years. He's got a few top of the line turntables in his posession. I'm sure I can get what I need from him because he has quite a few DJ sets. I have a few people that know the ins and outs of the MPC, so learning it wouldn't be that much of a task. I live in Jamaica, Queens' Rosedale section. Musically inclined people aren't hard to find here. Some guys around here have a studio, and make beats. There's also a true school Hip Hop emcee that has a studio right up the block from me.
