The staff was one of two items I was praying would be in the DLC. I usually play high level characters with high stats in Intelligence and Faith and I always hated having to swap between catalysts. Glad it's getting at least some recognition.
I wish they'd just made the glowing eye thing into a weightless seal though, because the Great Beyond staff looks a little goofy. At 80/80 though it's a perfectly respectable catalyst too, with a good but not top tier spellpower scaling value. As it should be.

Messmer's ash of war has the added bonus of just flying over a lot of boss moves. It has a built in dodge.
Protip for the final boss, at least for all the faithbros out there: So does Scarlet Aeonia. It's exactly as effective as you'd expect it to be given the context. You're welcome.
Consort final boss weapons are eh.... why it cant be just 1 weapon with just heavy and light ash of war.

I started a NG+ run with a Radahn build and was kinda underwhelmed, neither ash of war seemed all that usable. Ended up switching to a Rellana build and having a blast with it.

Spear of the Impaler and Rellana's Twin Blades are definitely my favorites. Their weapon arts are such over the top, anime style nonsense, I love it.

@@aliassaboui5094I would recommend 60 faith for the ash of war and about 50-60 dex for high physical damage. Also the fire scorpion talisman and the shard of Alexander.

Heavy and AoW is really neat but I was hoping the normal combo is different than the usual stab stab attack...
I like the way Mesmer uses his weapon... More of a Partisan than a Spear or even Javelins. He swings it well, and fire sparks goes everywhere. I want that... I guess I'll have to wait for a Mod or something...

I think messmers spear has the highest utility in the base game/DLC. Free range option, fire dot damage and you can boost the damage of the throw with the new talisman (for throwing weapons) and the axe talisman. You can stay at range and just chuck your spear at all enemies. Its super cool and very effective against nearly all mobs. Fighting with the spear on torrent against dragons is very fun too. You can easily target their heads and get knockdowns.
I had no idea that staff existed. That is awesome.

Really wish the dual incant/sorc item had been a seal style item so we could cast sorcery by hand

@@mudkippug there’s a few bell bearings hanging in pots across the map, only one I’ve found is near prospect town… one of them The greasmongers bell bearing offers root and knot resins

The strongest DLC weapon is any spear or thrusting sword that can be infused with bleed and a big ol’ greatshield in the left hand.
The Poison Flower Blooms Twice on Antspur Rapier is one of the most busted combos that isn't exploiting some 5 digit overlapping hitbox nonsense. It's not as long as a heavy thrusting sword, but it doesn't need to be.

@FelisImpurrator I was using duel antspur rapier scarlet rot / bleed .. but thing die way to quickly for any applied bleeds
@@Buhry It's the best rot proc weapon in the game due to its thrusting sword moveset, so it's the easiest way to set up Poison Flower to nuke repeatedly. Poison or blood infusion and you can run kindred without needing the massive faith requirement of Scarlet Aeonia, which is automatically a win.

To people saying Radahn's weapons are bad, I urge you to make a build around them. They can output crazy damage, and with enough poise and health you can make it do some crazy things. My recommendation is the defeat all of the furnace golems as one of them drops a life steal tear, then use consecutive hit boosting talisman and tear, as well as relanna's cameo, a defense talisman, and Shard of Alexander for some extra extra damage. It's really fun. Hope you enjoy! Also remember things like defense and attack buffs like FGMS, GV, and BFP.

I didn't fall for boss weapons for some reason, looks good but I like good heavy attacks so I took Fire knight greatsword with Flame Spear ash and flame art scalling, wearing messmer helm, using Messmers orb for aoe and Flame spear oh boy it hits hard and the weapon buff looks so awesome, that sword hits like a truck with that buff. Recommend.
Though from boss weapons I really like Messmers spear, sad that moveset it horrible but skill compensates it

miquella revived radahn using his soul and mohg as the vessel. Im guessing the armor is just his old set that he put back on.

What about sword of damnation ?
I perfer Midra’s Sword of Damnation, nothing like having a command grab as an ash of war that is also a critical strike as well making it a vigor checker if properly built around to take advantage of its unique property. The ash of war can even cancel out attacks like Waterfowl Dance and Corpsepiler and bypass shields. Has a second input if you miss the grab to shoot spikes out of the ground which will send players or human npcs into the air.
All boss weapons are kinda meh. Sunflower hammer is ok and releanna light greats are decent but best dlc weapons are from small bosses or just pick ups in my opinion. I was super disappointed with final boss weapon and mess spear but I’m in later ng plus. Meteoric is my fav bloodfiends arm and guts with bleed spinning ash is def busted. Strength arcane goes off in dlc.

@@vongolamistowl they should. It's weird that my most used dlc weapon is the backhand blade which is weird considering it's quite literally one of the first and freest dlc weapon options there is. I love them, don't get me wrong, but it's just odd that the hardest to obtain don't feel worth it.
Sunflower is pretty decent if you have the right setup, and the near infinite hyper armor when charging it is pretty cool. I got it where I deal like 6k damage for the first charge slam with an additional 3-4 thousand after so like 10k for the combo

One of my favorite weapons for base games was nagakiba with piercing fang ash of war, as soon as i started the dlc i found the Milady greatsword, and used it to fight Rellana for her great swords

I am very disappointed with 2 of the boss weapons... Well 3, if you count two of the Radahn's weapons... Why were they Magic..? I was using A Faith Caster build, that's the one I enjoyed most and that's what I saw... Another one is Mesmer's. I was hoping the moveset is similar to how he wields it. Nope! It's just the normal stabby stabs weapon... No slashes... Meanwhile, Mesmer does it so well with his weapon. It's more of a Partisan than a Spear. So the moveset he used against us, is way cooler but when we get it, nope. It's disappointing.
All must be compared to greatness of blasphemous blade
That is my main weapon for bosses that are not fire resistant, and it's also a great off-hand weapon since it gives back hp per kill,
it's a good combination with maybe dry leaf arts IMO

I wish the twin blades were just strength or just dex, and then faith and int ontop. Scaling off 3 things equally is rough, but 4 js crazy.

@@darkscoutergamer6168 nothing in particular I have the alexander shard ,the shield for physical damage protection (I don't remember the name ) two handed sword for more damage and erdtree blessing +3 that's my talismans and for armor something nice like godfrey or radahn armor

I wish we got an actual Frenzied Flame blade. A scythe atleast. With a dope ash of war and that did frenzy flame dmg. The spear we got in the base game is so mid imo. The move set just sucks to me. The fists we got now are also just fists. I wish they were of the new hand to hand version of fists. Hopefully next time.
