Something to note about commercials in Norway, is that we have something called "Gullfisken" (I don't know if it's a thing anymore or whatever, but it used to be at least) which is kind of a Emmy's, but for commercials in Norway. They'd hand out awards for each month, and then the commercial of the year voted by the viewing audience. So commercials have been quite competitive, and wanting to grab your interest and attention.

And having fun commercials instead of the dull American Infomercials, is less bothersome as well, the only decent American commercials are the ones during Superbowl... and they barely qualify.

      Its called Gullruten.
Gullruten is an annual award for the Norwegian TV industry, founded in 1998 by Norske Film- og TV-produsenters forening. The awarding committee has representatives from the major national TV companies, NRK, TV 2, TV3 and TVNorge. In 1998, the show was hosted by Nadia Hasnaoui, and from 1999 to 2012, by Dorthe Skappel.

Gullfisken is a separate award specifically for commercials. Every year, a jury picks one commercial for each month, called Sølvfisker, then viewers vote for their favourite during a live show. It's usually broadcasted on TV2.

Cussing is fairly common in Norway really, I remember a radio interview where Norwegian radio was interviewing some American star of some sort, and the radio host was cussing casually while asking questions, the American sounded so worried for a moment "isn't this on national radio?" the interviewer confirmed and asked why? "can you curse on the radio?" which was once again confirmed, and the American really took well to it and was cussing up a storm throughout the interview. :P

The best hands down Norwegian Commercial is "Vossafår - Pirattaxi på Voss (2012)" - "Vossafår- Pirate Taxi in Voss" its a commercial for sliced sausage, it is really good.
The end says "Pålegg frå Voss" - "Topping/Condiment from Voss" "No på Faisbokk" - "Now on Facebook" however Faisbokk is how most Norwegians pronounce it. In that region "på" - "on" is usually written "pao" the sentence should really be "Nao pao Faisbokk" to get the real pronunciation, however this is a national commercial and people have to understand it, for sale reasons.
"Vossafår" - "Voss-sheep" sausage made from "Får" - "Sheep", it is also a verb "Får" - "Obtain" present. "Få" - "Few" and "Obtain" infinitive.

There was one commercial taken down for being too violent. It ws for loose weight candy. A guy finds his wife's candy stash while tidying, the woman notices and unhooks the vacuum pipe, winding up and hitting the back of his knees, making him fall to the ground. The point being that you'll go far to keep your candy. But it was too violent, too real.

Actually, the Norwegian commercials that are funny, are often talked about between friends and family, so the payback for the brand is in word of mouth as well as the brand name at the end. Oh, and the first brand, Freia, is owned by an American company, though Freia only produces for the Norwegian market.

I think they actually beeped themself in the smash commercial when they swear, so the "beep" is in the actual commercial, not just censored later on the youtube video. it is normal to have a "don't take yourself to seriously" attitude in norway, it reflects in our commercial well🤣
I do think we can joke about just about anything though we do usually bleep or cleverly "swear but are interrupted or bleeped" in commercials if swearing is used.
I think we take foul language more seriously than sexual jokes😂🙈 just since kids tend to repeat whatever they see and hear.

Most Norwegians speak and understand English pretty well or better - and they even learn English from a very early age these days, foreign movies and TV-shows (mainly in English) here in Scandinavia are always subtitled, never dubbed! *} - so we are also used to hearing all sorts of spoken English - , and our three very similar languages in Scandinavia are actually like close cousins of English with many deep similarities in basic vocabulary and in grammar, so it's like we already know a simplistic English from day one, making it fairly easy for us to learn English.
You just can't hear all these similarities on the fly when hearing our spoken Scandinavian languages due to our "peculiar" pronounciation traditions, but you would be able to spot the meaning of many of our basic words, if you saw them in writing.
*} They do however use dubbing all the time for such foreign TV-programmes in Germany South of us, so we joke up here in Scandinavia that
"Dubbing is only for small children ... and Germans" 😂

No, but it's simply tragic when the speakers of the very similar Danish, Norwegian & Swedish languages don't even bother understanding each others directly, but just straight away prefer speaking English together instead.
Understanding the other two languages is mostly just a question of tuning in, listening up and the others speaking a bit slower and more clearly.
As long as they are not speaking in extreme dialects, I understand almost everything in Norwegian & Swedish without ever having learnt them deliberately, but simply via watching their TV-channels.

Now, for something not quite so fun...
    Do you like dogs?
You may or may not want to see this video about Nor-Dog.

Yes, it involves a crazy Norwegian. He could probably use a bit of help, too.

Sadly we got fewer funny commercials now, still some but there was allot more of them in the 90s and earlyer 2k. I think companies etc has gotten a bit to afraid of insulting someone.

You have missed out of the REALLY funny one's. I cant find them with subtitles. But we Norwegians will never forget "Doffen har daua" 16 years old and we are still laughing.
    ruclips.net/video/7iSki63ZDg0/видео.html&ab_channel=ingolfzp
I'll try to translate(or more explain) it:
Mother; "Oh.. Doffen is probably just really tired. He'll just need some rest. Now I'm finding a cup and I'll drive him to the vacation place so he can be with his brothers and REALLY rest"
    Sister: "Wazz up..?"
Boy; "Doffen has kicked the bucket!"
(Message is: Keep it simple. A com. for a grocery store REMA 1000)

Let's guess what the commercial is for...
    Sturdy Footwear...
    Dental Insurance...
    Plastic Surgery...
Eye Glasses or Contacts for the Man...
    Learning to duck...
Selecting women for high-contact sports(hockey, boxing, etc...), I mean she took the shot & still remained on her feet...
