I have subscribed to your channel so please keep them coming. I too go looking and talking about places in my motorhome Gwendolyn. I was born in Cardiff (1941) and having travelled and lived in many parts of the world but am now back in The Valleys of South Wales. Back home and learning about my wonderful country. Regards Michael
Lovely, thank you. Life’s got in the way recently unfortunately, so I haven’t uploaded in awhile. But, I’ve got one lined up. I’ve got a few weeks off coming up, so I intend on uploading then. Nothing like home. Wales really is a special place 🏴
@@talesfromwalesandthegreatb6229 Rather ties in with the natural arrival of adventurers from the coastal regions of Spain & Northern Africa - we know that in ancient times it was actually easier to travel distances via sea than by land - because there were vast forests throughout Europe & many different tribal lands to negotiate passage thru, hence piratical raiding parties for slaves traveled even as far as Scotland by sea, and sea faring was the primary means to roam the known world. Hence not surprising that a tribal group in Wales appear to have darker skins & black curly hair and possible ancestry from Africa ! I think humans were much more used to death & peril in ancient times, but it did not seem to stop them going to unknown places for fortune & fame ! What do the genes say about this is my next question !
Most definitely! Even now, a fair few of the Welsh have pale skin, but dark eyes and dark hair and this is precisely the suggestion of where these may derive x

The Essyllwr/Essyllyr - Silures.
The silures where dark skinned and cruelly black hair
Yes, as opposed to the ‘typical Celtic look’ of red/ sandy coloured hair x
