Lovely place to visit, I couldn't cope with all the steps and the stiles, loved the church as well, was great to hear you and IB singing Flanders acd Swann, they were brilliant together. Thanks for the vlog, so interesting, take care.x

I didn't realize how much stonework there is in Wales. It's truly beautiful. I went through my favorite cemetery today. The gravestones looked like someone tossed a desk drawer over the landscape. How strange to see the old above-ground graves. Loved the vlog tonight.
That's a nice Sunday walk you've taken us on, you're right too, it is very cold at the moment! Strolling along the coast can be so good for one's mental wellbeing, lovely! Nice chat too between you and IB😎👍
I absolutely LOVED this video! What an AMAZING place! AND you mentioned our channel! 🤩Thank you so much. Churches are so beautiful and Britain is so perfect. So much history! Thank you for this video! I wish we were here for longer so we could visit your beautiful Wales! Maybe one day we can make a colab. I'd love that. We will be back soon... And again, I love how you edit your videos.
Nice walk ... the car park @8:32 was actually a field 30 odd years ago and the car park was about 50 yards into the beach but thanks to costal errosion it's long gone , those huge stones were put there around the early 90s to stop more errosion and the cafe getting battered every winter including the meadow flooding . The bristol channel has the 3rd or 4th highest tide in the world so most preventative measures are like pissing in the wind
Dimhole is the first valley you come to west of Llantwit Major beach with the wooden bench on the top(not the iron one on top of the steps)….It’s a great town to live in. Good blog done also!👍
What an interesting little town! Love it! I can’t stand the cold 🥶. We are really longing for a warm beach about now. That church is beautiful! 1604 WOW!
I get a bit anxious now about places not accepting card, because I haven’t really carried cash in about 5+ years! I have one of those slim wallets now that doesn’t even really hold cash/especially not change. Thankfully only caused in issue twice - once in Geneva AFTER they’d served me a coffee and needed me to pay, and then revealed they only take cash - and once at a cafe on Isle of Wight.
That mark on the stile at 12:15 is an Ordnance Survey benchmark and if you look at the detailed OS map for that area then it will show a level in m above sea level for that point. They are placed at structures that are very unlikely to move or settle in the grounds - like old buildings, or IB's chin!!!! (and indeed on IB's house which is almost as old as IB!!!)
The church was lovely and very old. It is an Anglican church and has a terrific website with loads of information. My wife and I are Episcopalians so the Anglican Church in England and Wales is our mother church. Looks like you two had fun. Thanks for vlogging this and sharing. This was great!
Thumbs up 17. Barry Island Walk, another Pillbox. 11:20 They are dotted along the coast and some have fallen into the sea or beaches.15:30 its call the hippo song , Many time it pops into my head like a earworm (not the insect). IB makes a great camera operator. Sorry Imo.
The marks you asked about are a military marking. It marks items belonging to the MOD. It is also used as a benchmark in surveying
That looked like a fun, but must walk. I loved the hippo song.

What a beautiful beach area!
Lovely, wasn’t it? I’d have liked to have got on the beach if we’d had more time.
That is a narrow little path! Getting your exercise climbing those walls and steps. Paper maps always confuse me 😜
