While this video did spoil some parts of the game for me, the benefits of unlocking all the specialities for party members & what party members cancle each other out, I am glad I watched it. Had an amazing weekend with the game at launch but bounced of it & haven't touched it since. But seeing the promise this game holds, especially in the combat & party customization, has made me want to jump back in. Thank you. I also had the same problem with the difficulty settings😅
Such a lovely video! I really enjoy your style! Definitely taking notes to improve!, Star ocean 2 R was literally my favorite JRPG of the year, I'm really hoping it sales well and the series steps in the right direction
Thank you and same to you. It's always great to see other creators and how they do things to get ideas on how to improve or refine. Always down to chat if you're up for it. I also hope the game did well.
I'm very close to the end of my universe playthrough, and overall have enjoyed my time. I wholeheartedly agree on the private action issues and the lack of actions with party members in story moments to be disappointing (but makes a ton of sense). I expected you to go a little more in depth with some of the IC possibilities and what sets this game apart from some of the other ones, but you covered what they are at a high level pretty well! My biggest gameplay gripe personally are the level of particle effects and the party AI being very poor. Combat in general has not been fun for me but it would have been better if I could more easily see what's going on and knew the AI could dodge or block incoming attacks. The dodge can also be wonky and get you killed if the enemy doesn't stun after the dodge. Nice work on the gameplay captures too, and showing off some of the different environments within the world. You're a good channel and I hope to continue to see you grow!
Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for your thoughts. I agree that the busyness of the screen made dodging pretty much impossible to do well unless you were fighting 1 v 1 in the moment. It would be nice if it was better, but maybe in future games they can adjust and enhance.
What platform are you considering it for? If you're iffy, there's a 3 hour demo available for free where your progress carries over to the main game. The only thing is that you cannot level up your IC in the demo, so some stat increases that might help can't come until after Krosse Cave. But it'll give you a good taste of what the game has to offer!
Good video. I only played the last Star Ocean and heard good things about this one. What still makes me only want to grab this one with severe discounts is 2.5D. I think it's should be optional in the sense that they made the world look so good, I feel the sprites are so off-putting in comparison. Why not include a mode with good looking character 3D models in addition to this. That would be best of both worlds.
It might be nice if you could transition kind of like Dragon Quest XI S had, but the amount of money they'd have to put in to make the whole game work in full 3D in addition to HD-2D? That would be an incredible gamble on the game's success
I think that a good balance would be something like how Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut remade the 2D sprites to have more detail and look more in place with the world. I don't mind the fact that the remake uses 2D sprites, but I find it disappointing that the new sprites are so similar to their original. The character sprites could definitely be worse, but I personally found a lot of the enemy sprites looked terrible in the new style@@CommRio @DarkNeogen
Love your videos mate!
Thank you!

Happy to have been able to help even if it required some spoiling to do so. Hope the game grabs you with your next try

Nice review dude. I liked it.
The game looks good. Maybe in the future I'll try it.

@@elyjahkidnot Computer is the most ideal. Thank you.
Maybe I'll try that demo.
@@עידומחלוף-ר4ח That was my platform of choice too, and I had no technical issues at all. Good luck if you try the demo, and have fun!
Great content, bro. I have a question though do I have to play the first one in order to understand the story on the second one?
You do not need to play the first one
