Thank you for swinging by and hope you manage to swing by again soon! We changed up even more since last you were there too! Also the differently priced games are crate games so those are just our extras we haven’t put on the shelf til needed. Tight spot so they just gotta chill there haha. Gotta get a cover for them one day haha. Thank you again!!
Me and my gf are coming to NYC for the weekend today and we definitely want to check this place out!
yo los conoci en brcdevg
do you have tenkaichi 3?
Do you guys do shipping for orders?
do u have ps3 consoles for sale?
Living in NY and having experienced nyc my entire life, seeing Caleb’s shock at the shenanigans that we view as so normal is great 😂
Lmfaooooooooooo😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. For real tho!!!!
I love that 2 of the members of Too Many Zooz are just jamming on the side of the street. Leo P is a crazy sax player.
NYC Thief:
"GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY!"
Caleb:
"Can we settle on 20%?"
😂
lol
This is so cool to see. It is always nice to see local shops being supported.
Love how you casually just filmed Leo P and David Park of Too Many Zoos just jamming out, lucky scrooge you!
Also very funny that Leo P sued Epic Games for like likeness rights in Fortnite, haha.
I thought that was him! He was fairly calm but the leg pumping gave him away.
Yeah wow, I was like. WAIIT, that is Too Many Zoos! :D
@toomanyzooz5641
You should do a journey through the 50 states at local video game stores…now that would be pretty cool!
Salem, MA has a very cool game shop.
Brooklyn Gameshacks is my homie Luis’s store been there many a time. Good prices and good vibes in that place!!!! Glad you made it there @phoenixresale
NYC native and I’m happy to finally see someone checking out the game stores here. I’ve never been to those stores in Brooklyn but now that I see the prices aren’t too bad I’m definitely excited to go check them out.
Brooklyn Video Games is awesome! Been there a few times!
Nice guys, I like their arcade spot in sunset as well although some of the dudes there swear they’re fighting game gods so I don’t really go there anymore because of the atmosphere
I went to that first store last year and you're right, lots of stuff, a bit high price but the staff is super friendly! I came out with a sealed copy of Persona 4 on PS2.
Sickkk I'm jealous loll
Lol that was the same game I got when I went there
@@functional200 still got it sealed :)
Oh look, new york has a clear sky!
Oh dang that's two of the guys from Too Many Zooz at 5:04!
Its like a video game library so organized ❤
A wild zooz sighting! Very cool glad you included some of their playing.
Yep.
Now I get why no one is buying games in video games store. The price is doubled than their original price 🙄
Wow this is so nostalgic. I used to live in NY two years ago and I frequented all of these stores often. I’m still good friends with Louis (he owns brooklyn game shack) and it was very nice to see how everyone’s upgrading and doing well 💜
where did u move to
Thank you for visiting. 🙌🙌
Man, a video on Thursday! Wow, thank you! I was waiting for Sunday.
5:04 oh snap caleb came up on Too Many Zoos irl and even threw them in the video lol
Lived in NY for sometime and all the good video stores have basically died out, years ago an area called Flushing was personally my spot to hit up for import games at amazing prices but when a couple Gamestops opened up they killed all the video game business. From what I heard now all the Gamestops shutdown all that is left is Best Buy & Target but there selection is trash. Game hunting in NYC is not worth it, every now & then you might score a deal but it gets hard & harder as time goes by also there is a saying if you shop in Manhattan you going to pay "Manhattan Tax". Best to drive out to either deep Long Island or into NJ.
you don’t gotta go that deep into LI, Nassau has some spots. That being said, the internet existing makes getting deals anywhere with a higher cost of living much more difficult. They almost always just go by last listed sold etc. Long Island is a place where you can find some old heads running spots who aren’t as big on that, but in general that’s just how the market has shifted anywhere there is a large populace. More people = more of a chance for people to be informed of valuation and for them to inform others
@@Fatblue246 Phoenix knows he can get any of these games through his online connections but it means so much more to go out and find them. That is true game hunting, cause if you can just get it by clicking a button then what's the point, you might as well just emulate them and save yourself the trip.
In the 90's that area where VideoGamesNY is located had a ton of Video Rental/Video Game shops. It was near the start of the PS1 where I would go weekly to see what new imports that had.
G A M E C R A Z E N Y N E W H A R T F O R D
Surprise video drop?! Let’s goooo!
Gotta say it’s a nice touch that the last store has end labels for 64 games
Riffs moms joke and the come back, hilarious!😂
The second and third locations look pretty promising.
Iirc I didn’t buy anything from the first location because the prices were a tad bit high. The selection itself was really good though
Yeah that is probably due to the difference in rent. Any retail location in Manhattan is 10x greater than the outer boroughs.
Brooklyn Video Games is right down the block from me, happy to see them getting some love!
The video game store J&L used to be real cool when they were in Chinatown but ever since they moved to Midtown, they became a-holes or the new staff hired are all a-holes. They don't want to be bothered & they won't even go above beyond to help customers. J&L was my jam but it's sad that the magic is gone.
You just spent 11 minutes Squawking whilst clutching at you tinkle..... Wow you do like games stores.... Lol. 😃😁😁😁🇬🇧🦁🤟
Man you just happen to catch Leo P in his natural environment. Awesome
Id be in heaven with going through all that switch stuff
I love videogamesny! they really maximize their space and they're pretty chill people. great shop all around.
Brooklyn Video Games and Brooklyn Game Shack are my favorites to go to. Owners are super nice! Glad to see them on your channel!
So cool that Leo P was playing sax there
Shoutout for showing the Trails love ❤️
I was just in NYC! VGNY was my favorite shop we checked out. Picked up Yuppie Psycho on Switch, which is a game that they actually published themselves!
That is my neighborhood in Brooklyn, my cousin started that 3rd video game in Bayridge. He sold it a few years ago when he moved away. They always had the best prices.
It's funny you mention vertical space. When I was a wee lad, I used to go to the local toy store in nyc (late 80s into early 90s) and I remember that they would hang their toys probably 30 feet in the air which made window shopping very challenging. They were smart enough to put the superhero and tmnt toys nearer to the ground however.
I don’t know why, but the first store reminds me of a dream I had Once, it was also a video game store, which was packed with a lot of games and was also really tall, really reminded me of it…
At least Riff’s mom loves him 😂😂😂 that hit he hard
Thank u for showing us around 😊
Ayy glad to see you stop by my area! You hit up all the go to spots!
You should have checked out Book off it’s a 10 minute walk from Video Games New York!
First one got a insane collection. Probably the biggest i have seen
Cool, I’m from New York City, welcome to New York, check out the other boroughs like Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and also Staten Island
Video Games New York has been at the current location for over 17 years, but previously they were two blocks north on St. Mark's Place. Don't know when they started but I bought Panzer Dragoon Saga there in 1998.
Kinda wish you had went to Brooklyn video games & arcade. It’s their second store with bigger space and an a decent sized arcade in basement with various games. They also host tournaments!
Finally caleb video on a weekday!!!!
Thank you for a video before work it's probably the last one before I leave
I’m In NY Long Island The Five Boroughs And Westchester Yes NY Has Many Great Stores I’ve Been To Most But The Prices Are Much Higher Than Any Other State But That’s With Everything In Life In NY I’ve Been Blessed To See All Of Gaming From 1980-Now What A Life
Gotta say that was a pretty good your mom joke 😅
My brother met you at the gaming convention in Winder today! Sold his Shadow of Almia game. He says hi 😁
Yay!!! Love watching all these videos!
Gotta love Marx's sticker "I told you so" 1 second into the video
Shout out to Lulu, he truly is the best dude.
Appreciate you playboii
my only question is how are they surviving with rent in ny being astronomical?
I got to check out those video game stores in my home state, New York
Afro Samurai is a great game.
Welcome to NY! Video Games NY is my favorite store in NYC you know they make there own games? You missed Book Off,J&L and the Nintendo store.
You should check out PAX West in Seattle in September. Also, i believe the seattle area is known to have more video game stores per square mile than anywhere in the US. Correct me if im wrong
This is pretty cool! I wish I could go to these stores the next time I visit NYC (which I am an hour away from the place). The only video game store that I have visited recently in the city was ThinkGeek/Gamestop.
As if you just randomly saw Too Many Zoos on the street haha
nobody is gonna fly to new york to look for retro games with the prices over there - but a nice trip ofc!
I'm smitten at the fact that Brooklyn Game Shack has a Regina display stand on their wall.........WANT
was at the first store last year. They had replacement Virtual Boy Stands at a great price. I had to grab one
If you're in Newyork. Use their starbucks if you have to go to the bathroom. Easy peasy! Relatively close to the Nintendo New York Store location! :)
The “Too Many Zooz” cameo in the video was cool.
Leo P! One of my favorite bari sax players!
RIFFS editing is the best😂
I show up for the Phoenix Resale goodness, but stay for the Riff cameos.
Oh man, you actually are in NY!!! Hahaha here I am been contemplating selling my collection but thought you were out of the east coast already x.x
Glad i subbed to pesale channel also, can't wait for a whole week for a video in main channel.
edit: i thought it as pesale post,😅 i wasn't expecting another video within a week.
That’s dope you were in NY. Would have loved to have stumbled into you
I’m the same about big cities, loved visiting Chicago & Edinburgh but I can’t imagine living in a big city.
you need to check out the store chain called " the exchange " there's one in monroeville right outside of Pittsburgh PA, insane amount of games
Phoenix if you're ever in Grand Rapids, Michigan take a stop into Beltline Play N Trade. They have one of the craziest selections I've ever seen with a huge switch selection and plenty of rare high dollar games!
That’s amazing video on video games store in New York City.
I feel you on the whole city thing. I'm just an English "town boy". I know it would be terrible for your business due to PAL being generally way cheaper. But I'd love to see you and Riff hit the UK as that first place really reminded me of Sore Thumb in York.
As long as you skipped J&L you're fine. The prices are insane, and CS is pretty terrible. I give them a slight break on price because rent in mid-town is also outrageous.
JnL has to be one of the worst. I'm always disappointed when I go there. The first store I found some steals in the discount bins under the sleeves in the middle section
J&L is one of my “go to” places in Manhattan. They have a great selection of new, used, and import games. The staff knows their stuff, and I have found them to always be exceptionally patient while I ask them to show me game after game after game! Some stuff can be pricey but good deals can be found. I’ve been a satisfied customer for over 20 years!
They’re overpriced but they honestly the only ones who fixed my Dreamcast correctly when it had problems. Brooklyn game shack doesn’t do console repairs, Brooklyn video games didn’t want to fix it because they thought it was a motherboard problem and told me it’s better off I just get a new console, Videogamesnewyork told me the same thing but they at least attempted to clean the console and the 8bit retro store not far from them the owner was a complete asshole and should never get business from anyone ever. So to sum it up J and L is overpriced but they have professionals who actually know their stuff so I give them a good review
Holy crap! J&L is still around. I believe the started in Chinatown, modding PS2's and XBoxes.
I used to go to video games ny all the time. They have pretty much everything but their retro game prices are crazy
Dope. Showed me a spot I never seen and I live here 😮
I live in city and the fact that the first store selling a Gow ps5 edition for $700 when it’s normally $560 & to make it worst Bestbuy has them on sale for $500. This game store really bumped their heads.
You're constant free advertising for Chipotle worked. I'm eating it as I'm watching this video because you made me crave it haha
Leo P playing his sax right there on the street?? Man!
That's my neighborhood! Google never show bus stops correctly, lol
You went to all my favorite places!
the sticker at the beginning lol
6:11 Ahh yes this game store I go to
Nice video. And you made it out of New York City without a scratch!
Loved this style of video
People who complain about the prices usually can't be bothered to check how much the games actually cost online. Everyone just assumes 20+ year games go down in price over time, not gain value.
Love ur shirt vader cool 😎
I got GTA IV two weeks early from Video Games NY, in front of dismayed Rockstar people who's studio was a couple blocks away. Video Games NY hooked up the pre-orders back in the 2006-2007 era.
My sister lives in NY. Going to have to check the first one out. Had no idea it was there (near there plenty of times).
Dude, feels like I blink and the video is over already. Love your content man, Have a great day!
Please come to Massachusetts to go to Bowsers Basement it is one of the best Game Store in the U.S because rare things and sealed versions of games do not increase the price!
Gotta get to this store one day!
Dunk Dream for NEO-GEO is one of the best arcade basketball games ever. Would love to get that one someday.
TOO MANY ZOOZ!!! 🤯🤯🤯 Awesome colab guys!!! @toomanyzooz
You should do a series of uniques game shops around USA
Oh snap Caleb in my city💯💪🏾 little advice if someone ask for the time just run 😅 they’re not interested in the time
I went to that first store before. Decent prices and cool owner.
I got my GBA on that first store and was all by coincidence as I was walking without knowing in my only visit around NYC
My childhood DS was that guitar hero one they had towards the start
