A bit late to the party but so glad to see Food Devils here too! 2:00 And this video has some really remarkable gems in general, I love all of these haha. Thanks for the list, David!
I love seeing the support for indies! Anything to increase visibility is a net positive. One suggestion I’d have (and idk how much extra editing/work it’d be) but would be helpful if there was overlay text on the vid for each game that includes its platforms for release!
These games look incredible, I'm so stoked to learn about some titles that look right up my alley! Thanks for mentioning Eternal Remnant among the bunch!
All very intriguing David. Particularly Legends of Astravia & One Fenix Down. They look like they were made by StegoSoft or the studio had a hand in making them. God, I'm waiting for that company to make a comeback.
There are some great looking games on this list! The character portrait art in One Fenix Down reminds me of the ones from the game Exit Fate. Kingdoms of the Dump is one I've been following for years now, they recently had a video showing off a worm for world map transportation which looks great. Geo Mythica looks strange and cool! Same with Splintered, I'm looking forward to trying them out.
David! Remember when you made those Men in Gaming videos? One was about how FF4 was actually a love story between Cecil and Kain. That was so good please put out more. You have a great sense of humor. 😂
Omg thank you so much for this video. My steam deck has been collecting dust because, for one, I'm stuck on the beloved rapture, and two, I'm burnt out on trying to find great turn based jrpgs. I'm am so looking forward to playing dark deity 2
I am not as big on old-school-stylized games like this, mainly because I have a hard enough time keeping up with new games as it is [my backlog still has the majority of the major releases from 2024 still... where does everyone find all this time to keep up?!], but Chained Echoes & CrossCode have been high on my list for a while now, so I'm glad I waited for DLC on Chained, and Alabaster Dawn looks very cool! Besides these, the one other that stood out to me was To the Grave: The Wildlands of Faenora -- what a freaking DOPE looking art style!! [also "Kingdoms of the Dump" lmao what a name] Thanks for the video!
Thanks for featuring Oddventure. ^^ I know some of those games and already Wishlisted them in the past. But I'll definitely check the rest of the titles for sure. :D Good list.
The future turned out to be cool😊as a 80s kid, snes was my favorite era❤❤❤ all those other 80s kids, are making 16 bit games, the way they would have wanted back in the day, while paying ommage to the past.i NEVER would have imagined such a rebirth ❤
Which ones? All the games I know personally aren’t rpgmaker: shrines legacy, quartet, my familiar, kingdom of the dumps, geo mythica But regardless there are lots of great rpgmaker games such as Omori and 8 Bit Adventures
Damn near a quarter added to my wishlist and many were already there. It's Guard Break, not Guard Breakers for anyone else that had trouble finding it like me. Don't know that it'll be 2025 but Hymn to the Earless God is my most anticipated RPG in the works.
I was looking for Sacrifire and Threads of Time in your list, but I guess they don't have an official release date yet. But I think Sacrifire will be released likely this year.
Hey David, just friendly request if possible for future videos like this onen. I love the list but is there any chance for each game you put a logo of what consoles theyre on per game video ?
Great video. I'm not really feeling the higher budget rpg's this year, aside from Clair Obscur, but there are a LOT of good indies that have my attention instead. Some of which I didn't even know of until this video pointed them out.
Shrine's Legacy certainly got my attention as a spiritual sequel to the Heaven and Earth series; I've even tried to play Granstream Saga just to get more of that! Unfortunately, I don't have anything to add, either; none of the RPGs I'm following right now have a set release date. I do have a few that are out in Early Access, but that's not the same; one of them has been in Early Access for years, at this point.
It's unfortunate that the DLC for Chained Echoes may be released before the physical version of the game that started taking pre-orders over two years ago.
Alabaster Dawn and it's not even close. CrossCode fits right up with my favorite RPGs, so hopefully AD gives a similar experience. Kingdoms of the Dump looks really interesting and maybe pick up Quartet when it's on sale. Most games on the list look pretty decent though.
I am a huge fan of the Dragon Quest games and was really excited to see that indie game called Splintered. I can't seem to find any other information about it other than 1 person doing a demo playthrough. I would love to hear some more about that game.
There's one missing here that I was shocked wasn't on the list: Threads of Time. It looks to be inspired heavily by Chrono Trigger and suuuuuuper high quality
great video! I don't have time to look for those indie games and all, so it was fun to watch! I'm kinda interest in the trash can game, it's kinda.. out there let's say! Dark deity looks great, not sure if I'll have the time for it though.. What I'm most excited is Chained Echoes DLC though, that game was near perfect.. Although it's been a while, and getting back into it after like a year or so feels awkward, but I'm gonna buy it for sure
35 games in a little over 11 minutes? 😅 I think a better idea would be to give a bit more time to games you personally find more interesting than the others. I’m sorry I’m greedy! I want more David! Who can blame me!
Anybody know any more info on Kingdoms of the Dump? Been following it seemingly forever, but I can't find new info. I know they had a new demo at Magfest this year.
I get so excited when I see upcoming projects but then I get bummed when I look up the title and learn that it’s on Steam… we need to update our accessibility but it’s not in the cards yet so I guess I just need to hone in on ps5 upcoming titles
Quartet, Alabaster Dawn, and DELTARUNE chapter 3 and 4 are the only jrpgs i'm looking foward to this year that arnt remasters [ tales of graces, ssuikoden] or games i colud not get last year due to there being to many jrpgs in 2024 [ smt 5 vengace, person 3 reload and metaphor]
Chained echos dlc....I couldn't stop talking about the game when I played it, so getting more of it is amazing
Amazing game & soundtrack. New game + hard mode not fun tho unfortunately
@Mosashi_EX I felt the combat was just right, so I didn't need a hard mode, lol 😆
It looks real colorful. I' leaning more on checking it out since it's a jrpg too. Thanks for commenting about it.
@NAzo. the combat is tough but not impossible, but do be warned about the difficulty
Thanks for featuring My Familiar amongst all these dope indies 🙏🎃
Of course! It's an awesome game! I'm glad I could bring it to the attention of more people :)
A bit late to the party but so glad to see Food Devils here too! 2:00
And this video has some really remarkable gems in general, I love all of these haha. Thanks for the list, David!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Crosscode and Chained Echoes are two of the very best indie games ever made. Anything put out by the devs of those games is worth a close look.
Fun fact: Both are made in Germany ahah.
Thanks for featuring Quartet, David! Yes, the game is finally coming out this year. Thanks for everyone's patience!
You're welcome! Glad I could bring it to a wider audience!
Thank you for including Cairn! Loads of great games to wishlist in here, love the retro vibe of Splintered 👾
Thanks for making this video, love that you don’t put filler and drag out the viewing time.
And you fit so much in the video.
Alabaster Dawn looks the most interesting out of this list.
Thanks for featuring Sacred Earth Reverie! I also found a few new ones to wishlist 😄
Glad to bring it to a wider audience! It's a great game!
Thanks David for featuring Geo Mythica! It really means THE WORLD to us!
love when David talks about indie JRPGs. Many of these games need more love and attention
Thanks for having DD2 in there! Great work showcasing some really cool games in here
Thank you for including Let's Build a Dungeon! Our backlog just expanded massively after watching this haha, so many great indies
These games do look like a lot of fun. It's not a JRPG, but I'm mostly looking forward to Avowed :)
The way Quartet’s battles look and the way you described the game reminds me a lot of Lufia 2 which I enjoyed!
Yeah, it's definitely got that classic JRPG feel!
My wishlist runneth over here, about the only ones I didn't list where the ones I have already kickstarted. Looking forward to Oddventure and Quartet!
Great rundown David! Found a few new ones to look forward to :)
"Guard Break" looks really interesting!
Thanks so much for featuring Legends of Astravia David, really means a lot!! I hope it meets everyone's expectations :)
You and me both!
Thank you for including Shrine's Legacy, David! Looking forward to and wishlisted many of these great-looking indies.
I love seeing the support for indies! Anything to increase visibility is a net positive.
One suggestion I’d have (and idk how much extra editing/work it’d be) but would be helpful if there was overlay text on the vid for each game that includes its platforms for release!
They're all PC. Done LOL
Hey there! Thanks for featuring Sacred Earth: Reverie!
It's a great game! Glad to bring it to a wider audience.
i see a new davidinc video, i click. didnt even see what the video was about but now i'm excited lol
I’ve been following and waiting for Kingdoms of the Dump for years. I can’t wait to eventually play this game.
These games look incredible, I'm so stoked to learn about some titles that look right up my alley!
Thanks for mentioning Eternal Remnant among the bunch!
I'm always happy to bring some awesome games to a wider audience!
All very intriguing David. Particularly Legends of Astravia & One Fenix Down. They look like they were made by StegoSoft or the studio had a hand in making them. God, I'm waiting for that company to make a comeback.
You just introduced me to a few games I need to add to my wish list! Keep up the good content!
They all look fantastic! Thanks David for shining a light on these awesome titles! I haven’t heard of many of them.
Wow you went through a lot of games. Thanks for showing love to indie titles
I cannot wait for Quartet!
Thank you!
I never knew Chained Echoes had a DLC, I'm finishing that game this year so it's on the list to pick up
There are some great looking games on this list!
I tried a demo of Kingdom of the Dump at Magfest last month, i'm super excited for it!
David! Remember when you made those Men in Gaming videos? One was about how FF4 was actually a love story between Cecil and Kain. That was so good please put out more. You have a great sense of humor. 😂
I'm glad you liked my sense of humor! I have a few ideas for future videos.
@ don’t let me down now! 😁
Thank you so much for adding my first game my turn based rpg M.Y.S.O.U.L to your list,it truly means a lot. Early 2026 Release date.
Nice work!
Omg thank you so much for this video. My steam deck has been collecting dust because, for one, I'm stuck on the beloved rapture, and two, I'm burnt out on trying to find great turn based jrpgs. I'm am so looking forward to playing dark deity 2
Hi David! I tried the demo for Mandragora and I had a lot of fun with it.
3:06 The game is called Guard Break. Your text says Guard Breakers. For those who are wishlisting on Steam
I backed Kingdoms of the Dump SOOO long ago! Cant wait!
Cairn Mathairs Curse looks so charming!
[also "Kingdoms of the Dump" lmao what a name] Thanks for the video!
Added more than half of these to my wishlist, thank you!
You're welcome! Glad I could help!
Thanks for featuring Oddventure. ^^ I know some of those games and already Wishlisted them in the past. But I'll definitely check the rest of the titles for sure. :D Good list.
Thanks so much and your game looks great!
just to let everyone know if your interested in the game its guard break / not breakers..
Gray Heritage looking like Fire Emblem before it was consumed by social sim elements, probably give that a shot.
The future turned out to be cool😊as a 80s kid, snes was my favorite era❤❤❤ all those other 80s kids, are making 16 bit games, the way they would have wanted back in the day, while paying ommage to the past.i NEVER would have imagined such a rebirth ❤
All great looking games! One thing I would've liked to see is which systems these games are coming out for. Otherwise, another great vid!
I didn't include it because for 99% of them it's either unannounced yet or it's just PC only.
@@davidvinc Gotcha. I assumed that was the case.
A few of these are in my backlog hahaha. Great video.
Wonderful video. Thanks David.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome list! Wow, tons of cool Earthbound-like RPGs which has me curious!
Those are some of my favorites! But a lot of the time they screw it up by adding in Undertale stuff or dark depressing emo crap
There are so many RPG maker games, It can be hard to find which ones are worth it.
Which ones? All the games I know personally aren’t rpgmaker: shrines legacy, quartet, my familiar, kingdom of the dumps, geo mythica
But regardless there are lots of great rpgmaker games such as Omori and 8 Bit Adventures
Indie RPGs WOOOOT! I play so many indie RPGS.
So many great games to get but my backlog just with JRPGs alone is huge!
Damn near a quarter added to my wishlist and many were already there. It's Guard Break, not Guard Breakers for anyone else that had trouble finding it like me. Don't know that it'll be 2025 but Hymn to the Earless God is my most anticipated RPG in the works.

Hey David, just friendly request if possible for future videos like this onen. I love the list but is there any chance for each game you put a logo of what consoles theyre on per game video ?
Looking forward for Alabaster.
Interested in almost all of them. Hopefully most of them will be available for Switch. *adds to playlist*
Shrine's Legacy has been on my wishlist for a while now. The demo was great!
This is a REALLY good list
CAIRN MAITHERS CURSE!!!!!! Gotta love it! Scottish JRPG!
I put it in because of your comment!
🙌 FILLETS 🙌
@@CairnMathairsCurse THERE HE IS!
Are any of these on the switch?
Quartet will be coming to the Switch
Great video. I'm not really feeling the higher budget rpg's this year, aside from Clair Obscur, but there are a LOT of good indies that have my attention instead. Some of which I didn't even know of until this video pointed them out.
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪♥️
There were a few games, 4 or 5 of them, that you didn't put the title on the screen. Good video though. I'll have to look some of these up.
Shrine's Legacy certainly got my attention as a spiritual sequel to the Heaven and Earth series; I've even tried to play Granstream Saga just to get more of that! Is it confirmed to be releasing in 2025?
@@davidvinc oh maybe not, lol. I kinda just assumed it was and am already very jazzed about it.
Well dang. I keep watching your videos, guess I might as well subscribe. 😆
Welcome to the channel!

Yeah I wanna know which ones you will play!
Can’t blame you buddy
Dang, Threads of Time is still under TBD (to be determined). Quartet looks interesting. I'll have to watch this again later.
It's a great game, I hope they announce something soon!
Thanks for increasing my wishlist tenfold David… 😅
Where can i find more info on My Soul?
Good lord, so much to play!
Instructions unclear, upvoting all of these I can on GOG Dreamlist.
Also what the hell, how have I not heard of To the Grave!?
Anybody know any more info on Kingdoms of the Dump? Been following it seemingly forever, but I can't find new info. I know they had a new demo at Magfest this year.
I believe they are planning to release sometime this year based on what I've seen on social media.
I have Tales of Hearts R for Vita. Should I play it now, or do you think it'll get a remaster?
Sea of Stars DLC, Throes of the Watchmaker as well!
I get so excited when I see upcoming projects but then I get bummed when I look up the title and learn that it’s on Steam… we need to update our accessibility but it’s not in the cards yet so I guess I just need to hone in on ps5 upcoming titles

Is there something wrong with the volume?
Would love to know what platforms these games are launching on lots of great looking indies
I didn't list the platforms because for most of them it's unannounced yet!
Man I want to wish list several of these on PS5 but I couldn’t find a single one.
Lots of interesting games 👀
I would still highly suggest giving Kamibako a try, free demo out
Thanks! I'll check it out.
Please tell me these are all for the switch
Just curious how many will get physical releases instead of stupid downloads
Please stop, i beg you, my wishlist can hold all of these!
I am looking forward to the monster taming game, Mirroed Soul, which plays similar to Shin Megami Tensei.
That sounds really cool!
Kingdoms of the Dump
Kingdoms of the Dump looks like trash🗑️. ( I mean that as a compliment) Honestly got it on my wishlist on steam.
Are these PC only?
Yup
My familiar is my pick of games of being excited for, loved the dmeo and these little trashpunk gremlins!
I like the games, but i wish you also mentioned the platforms they’re available on.
PC. every single one is for the PC
