hey hey lovelies! thank you so much for watching this video 💓some of you may have noticed the absence of Miss For Rent and //no shade// it's true she didnt make it to the video 🤭 it wasnt on purpose but the pack's release on December had me skipping it by mistake. thank you for flagging this! If you want to remisce a bit more about the pack, I have a full video posted in 2023 and you can check it out here ruclips.net/video/QvjUyYhwN7w/видео.htmlsi=MwuaKARTAuixCu6J
Yeah though it is important to remember that some of that is now Kits which are cosmetic only aside from Bust The Dust I would count everything else as an expense though because Stuff Packs, Game Packs and Expansions all have some gameplay or gameplay objects
Here's my theory on the first expansions: notice the style of some project Olympus worlds. They had a Windenburg type world going. So they could easily transform it to be in the Sims 4, and looking pretty advanced. As for the Get to Work world, that was probably planned to be small for some online shop type interaction. Hence why after these 2 expansions they had to take extra long to get City Living out cause it took a long time to get something from scratch.
This is such a detailed history of the Sims 4. Thank you for taking us for this turbulent journey of this memory lane. By the way Sims 3 had 11 Expansions and9 Stuff packs. You got it the other way. =P
i just discovered your content and it’s so good!! i love the perspective you keep while talking about the sims 4, your opinions and wishes for the game come out of a place of love for the franchise, rather than to just pick the game apart for the sake of it, which is exactly how i feel
I'd argue that's a further point against EA and The Sims franchise. There should not be this many packs. It costs a down payment on a car to have it all, and they even say not to download everything to have a smooth gaming experience. This "game" is broken.
11:35 $59.99-$69.99 in 2014 for just the base game was... insane. the base game was lacking content and depth, it still does, but not as bad as back then. For a $60-$70 life simulator game in 2014, it had questionable clothing, the low poly accessories, the lack of hair texture and style, skintones, infants and toddlers,... just lacking so much. for that much money, I want a lot more interested actions, gameplay and depth as well. It was for sure lazy and lacking details. I wouldn't have complained if the base game costed like $20 in 2014. It felt as if they were intentionally holding back content, saving them to put in future dlcs
Great work on the documentary! I appreciate seeing the last 10 years of the facts and honest feedback. Honestly, I’m not pulling the trigger on any new life simulated game releases until I get a genuine consensus on actual game play. My hopes (&pockets) have been dashed far too many times. I am inclined to be way more patient
Thank for the video. I have all sims 4 add on and your video just made me realize how much I've spent. Most of them I haven't played just got them incase my cc needs it.
It’s such a shame that you released this just before EA announced their plans for ‘the future of the franchise’. That comment about not knowing what the future holds aged badly really quickly LOL! 😂
A wonderful documentary! I did notice For Rent was not mentioned Dec 2023? That it in and of itself was notable as it's the only year thus far to bring 3 EPs. Not to mention builldable apartments finally.
awww I was waiting for this comment! I was literally exporting the final cut and thought "wait... where's for rent 😶?" she escaped getting roasted this time, I guess 🤪
it's wild looking back at how many stuff packs they released early on, when I was still invested in sims 4, I guess I wasn't paying that much attention because I never realised how ridiculous it was
for the question you're asking, it is somewhat worth it... but with the amount of unfixed issues running for a long time, no. I do have genuine good time on the game for the past years but It gets stale for quite some time. I don't buy packs in full price and Im very picky on what to add on my game that saves me some money buying problematic packs. its hard to sink in that we were in such toxic relationship with the game's developers and publisher's monetary antics to us, and its never pleasant whether deny it or not. btw good job on creating this vid, and for the color of the dress... Its white and gold, its hid under the shadows hence the blue and black pseudo color
love the video! your effort is amazing, and everything you said is true. EA will have some stepping up to do now that there's actual market competition with inZOI and paralives in the future, with the later being much more attuned to the needs and wants of their playerbase. subscribed, looking foward for more videos!
Biggest waste of $60 USD ever, I even remember an interview a developer did before release where they said open neighborhoods were coming eventually... That got scrubbed from the internet sometime after
I think the artstyle was the thing that got me more excited the first time i saw the trailer and a few more things about ts4 lol I never was a fan how ts3 look like... The world gorgeous but the sims? 🤢 Haha well, when i saw a youtuber playing with it ??? I couldn't believe it, I went back to my ugly sims
For so long i heard gamers complain and me having crappy, boring gameplay, i didnt want ro believe that the Sims team was obly in it for the money. A lot of wishful thinking. I thought is was getting bored with life almost. Ive been playing sims since sims 1 when i was 19. I always enjoyed untill sims 4. I bought it after the free basegame option because i heard it sucked.. bit sims 3 was too big for my pc.. Either sims team makes the patches to save what is already there and make simlife more interesting like sims 3 was or im out.. no more pack only patches and free updates. I heard there is not going to be a sims 5. So this is it..
blue and black lol i always seen that....edit : I cant believe i've spent that much smh! they must have fired the people that used to care about the players....
The Sims team WAS Susposed to DO something for the 10 year anniversery too but they didn't they just went on to talk about a NEW Expansion pack. What the heack EA?? Why would you guys just Sherk that 10 years of Sims 4?? For reelz they did Notta for that day.wHY?? I don't get it. 🤨🤨🤨
The sims 4 is the worst sims game in the whole sims franchise smarter sims they say um no they are not they are thick sims only smart thing they can do is multi-task

75 packs for one single game is insane

Playing sims and watching a sims docu. I’m cooked
ahah sounds like a perfect combo to me
It's life! Lol
It’s crazy how many packs and expansion stuff they’ve released in that time span

This was an amazing video. I can tell so much work went into it and I think many others will be referencing it for years! Great job.
Omg!!! Love long content!!! Gotta have content to watch while eating for a few days. Hope this stays up and never gets taken down

ITS BLUE AND BLACK!!!!!!!
🤣🤣
I don’t want a sims 5. I’ve spent so much money on 4 and I don’t want to start over.
yeahhh I only realized the actual cost of getting packs for ts4 while researching for this video - it's crazy!!
Same here
no one want a new sims game, that's the reason people is moving to paralives or inzoi
A pirate’s life for me 🏴☠️
seriously!!!!!!!!!! and mods and cc will take forever to come out!!!!
There are several errors with this vid. Eg 2021 had 9 kits. 2023 also had the For Rent expansion, and Lovestruck is the 16th EP x
for rent is very forgettable to be honest.
I'd argue that's a further point against EA and The Sims franchise. There should not be this many packs. It costs a down payment on a car to have it all, and they even say not to download everything to have a smooth gaming experience. This "game" is broken.
