  • Intent to move is a really big deal, but it's not always easy to understand when it comes to making strength gains.

So the thing here with your app I’ve been using it for my deadlift sessions. Is it possible for you guys to add a feature like using the accelerometer on the Apple Watch in conjunction with your app to help sublimate the velocity to make it more accurate? Like not making it the main feature but making it a companion feature. Instead of or together kinda deal. Because the watch is closest to the bar anyhow. Also, we all know that anyone who owns an iPhone has an Apple Watch. It be cool to be able not to need to record with my phone or take out a tripod etc. Just opening a companion app on my Apple Watch and keeping track of my velocity would make this a game changer. There are case studies online the Apple Watch is doing this it be cool for someone to make it commercially available. Understanding your philosophy of not needing extra components we making an assumption a very good assumption that everybody who owns an iPhone has an Apple Watch, especially in the gym. especially this will be useful for something Like the snatch which your app does have a hard time tracking.

This is an interesting idea and its definitely on our long term road map. Although it would be quite a shift in direction for us to make given a move from computer vision (a direct measure) towards accelerometry (indirect).
Accelerometer based VBT tracking has been notoriously unreliable and inaccurate, so while I very much like this idea, it is not without a bunch of challenges!
Plus, Apple watch uptake is actually not that high as a % of iPhone owners, at around 10-13%.

When doing your snatches have you tried using the advanced recording mode? this makes tracking on Oly lifts much more reliable!

Have you worked with many high level benchers?
    I have some interest in a conversation/consultation.
