Hi, I'm the grandson of the previous owner of your farm. That cabin was built by my grandfather, father, and a couple of my uncles in around 1990. That was before my time, but it was always fun trekking out to the cabin and just checking it out as a kid with my siblings when we would come up to visit. It was already pretty much abandoned by then and all the sentimental items were removed before my grandmother moved out. I think it's very cool that you're planning to fix it up!
Your channel popped up for the first time, I decided to watch a couple of them and liked the down home style content, went and subscribed to your vhannel just now. Looking forward to more videos on the barn and hunting cabin projects. Watching from West Central Wisconsin.
Channel just showed up for the first time for me too. Greetings from North Central Washington in the foothills of a small mountain range close to USA/Canadian border. 💙❤️❤️❤️
My papaw always said to remember MAD BUCK, meaning Maple, Ash, Dogwood, and Buckeyes all have opposite branches, makes it a little easier un the fall and winter 😉
Great find, nice to get some history of it's origins. Love your idea of metal on the bottom outside, it will prevent it happening again and look great.👍
What a treasure to have on your property, both the cabin and the forest. With your knowledge and drive it'll become a beautiful spot on your land. Looking forward to seeing the progress!
Fix up the old Cabin with a Metal Roof on it and put a glass door wood stove in the Cabin and the birthday very Cool I can’t wait until you and your husband fix it up ❤
OMG I'm so glad I found you...its so cold in Wisconsin you will need a wood burning stove in your hunting cabin....I love off grid living.....I can't wait to see more of your content.
Cool cabin ., Bob says when you redo the walls , put chicken wire fence ing & medal screen on the outside walls before you reside with wood & medal . The screen & chicken wire fence keeps vermin out . 💙💙
I'm just a mountain woman who grew up stranded in the dirty ol'big city. The log cabin lifestyle is just MY kind of life.If I were only a place where I can hear a wolf howling,go fishing, snag a dear/elk right outside my door, milk bessy, coll ect the chicken eggs. THINK ALASKA--or Colorado or Montana. YOU SCOTTS ARE L. U. C. K. Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello from Queensland Australia. First time watching your channel.. looks to be an interesting property. The cabin is well worth a bit of work to restore it. Dont know much about maple trees.. not a big thing in Aust. Will follow along and see how you go.
Its most definitely worth fixing just for hunting those big whitetails up in Wisconsin and just maybe when those littleones grow up hey maybe one will want to stay close to mom dad and make that beautiful farm most definitely fixer and a big ole pot belly stove
Been a disease been hard on maples here on east coast but decent fire wood just burns quick oak, hickory, beech, nut & fruit trees usually best *the very best imo locust * couple types honey & black I think also that standing dead timber some of best firewood u can get no moister or bugs beauty of a place y'all have My wife's family live in Kenosha you guys gotta be way north of there lol
If you want to clean up the area and clear it for the removal of the trees then fence it and add goats, this will give you both milk and meat as they eat thier way to giving you a clean area around the cabin.
That 500 lbs propane tank is the safest way to have natural gas appliances!!! And the owners normally know where the lines are so there's no or shouldn't be any danger of cutting it with say a plow or tiller for the garden they used to burry them with just the filler inlet and gauges in the top protruding up from the ground!!!! And if it's kept down by the road for the service company to get to easily then even safer!!! It's a shame one can't do that in Alaska because of perma frost!!!!
Born in Alabama my grand mother had a few hogs and chickens the horse and cows in the pasture where not our it's good in lowndes county Alabama back in the day but its almost as bad as Detroit Michigan I'm a little suburban city in Detroit Michigan drive by shooting some one getting killed about every day especially in Detroit Michigan no where is safe the world keeps on changing
OMG...It's really OLD....1996...Come On Man! I lived in a Cabin that was built in the late 1800's, now that was Old and it had Problems, like when it Rained Outside it Rained Inside too! The Out-House was FULL, it Need hot Water and some other things that made Life Easier, indoor plumbing, and a real Wood Stove, not that Junk of a Franklyn stove...Come On Kid get with it!!
Did I call it old? I don't consider the cabin old, but it has been sitting abandoned for 25+ years, which is a long time to be left without maintenance. Some of the items inside are much older than the cabin itself, and it will be fun to look through it all item by item.
Porcupine are good to eat too. And you dead standing timber will more than likely be ready to burn as soon as you get it cut down and processed. Love the homestead.

Oh I just love the little cabin in the woods…
I love this - so much great adventures ahead.
Putting medal on the outside is a great idea as they can’t bite through that and then make sure it’s mouse proof as well

Wooden, do you mean a forest?
Yes. Forested land or "woodland".
That’s fraud on that guy!
Why don’t you show more of the cabin instead of your face.
Feel free to move right along if the video doesn't suit you. 🙄
