Stock OS was surprisingly good imo. What made me instantly wanna switch though was when I saw the GbOS Color theme. It's so thematically perfect Also, Sonic Mania 👍

Only video that showed me how to do the N64 button mapping. Can N64 C buttons be mapped to holding Y button and pressing direction on dpad, how would this be done?
I definitely tried to setup N64 mapping where I could use a button combination, but even the admins in the Discord didn't think that was possible. I did paste my button mapping config in the new written guide linked in the description though

Any ideea how to fix the lag in NES games ? If i turn off shaders, because has that biliniar filter on, games lag so much you cant play, but if they are on, runs ok.
Have it in my hand right now. Finished Cadillac and Dinosaurs yesterday in- between work hours. Great fun. I would much rather have the KNULLI OS though that was not made for the SP, so the sleep function won't work. I hope the devs update it to work in that regard for the SP. It's much cleaner since its Emustation frontend.
The emulator has various plug-ins you can use for additional functionality. A plug-in called "rice" is the best for this handheld (and maybe in general but I'm no expert on these plug-ins). So if you're editing config files as he is showing, you'll need to edit the one that says "-rice" at the end of the file name.
Love the video! super easy to follow. Quick question regarding the N64 button mappings: When I edited my rice cfg to how you had yours set up, the c-left button (mapped to L2) ended up not working. I've hit up the discord and reddit to no avail and was wondering if you had any updates on that? I've tried every button I could think of and even re flashing, still nothing. Keep up the great work!
How do you go to the I.P address of my device on you browser that will bring up the muOS login menu to connect my device to wifi to my computer? You never showed that step, you just said a bunch of numbers assuming that the viewer will get it. 😅 I have no idea what to do and I am stuck.

This is a phenomenal resource, thank you for making this! I’m curious, I already bought a second SD card for my Roms, but was planning on purchasing another to install muOS so I could continue updating the OS without having to deal with the potential hassle of losing my save states by keeping Roms and OS on separate cards. Would dual booting the way you’ve set it up here also prevent saves from being lost if I update one of the OS’s since the files would be on both? If that’s the case, then I’d love to install muOS on my current card, then move the stock OS to the next card I purchase since stock cards are prone to fail eventually. But this is all still very new to me, so I’m not sure how viable this is. Either way, I’ll likely wait for muOS’s next update before deciding on how to approach dual booting this thing.
Thanks young lad. Super helpful. My two RG SP's arrive this week. I've my memory cards all setup. I also purchased a couple of heatsinks for the units due to the battery location on these critters. Thanks again kid.
Good info in the video, but i think its just a BIT too fast. I had to keep going back and playing video the video over and over to see what you are actually saying, because some times you're just summarizing, and the words don't exact match what you are doing on the screen. Thanks for the written guide, tho.
No working bluetooth currently really sucked to find out AFTER moving over to MuOs. 😢. This limits sooo many good things vs stock such as stereo sound via bluetooth and external Bluetooth gamepads.
I just set up muOS last night on my SP & got the bios files i needed for the cores i have but my games won’t play today (I’m at work & idk if it has to do with me not being on wifi) but last night i had no problems… the games i added to my favorites will play (its just 2 games a gba & snes game) help pls
This is so frustrating for a newbie. @6:19 When you get to the Wifi connection part. You bring things up on your PC. You might want to show what you actually did. I was lost after you said, Go to your web browser and type in some numbers. You never show what you typed or where to find the MuOS login. So am just lost looking at a window menu for MuOS login that I have no idea how to get to. Because you quickly said it, but never showed it. This is the 3rd video I had to go to (outside the additional info I had to look up. Now I have to find another video that actually goes over the steps (step by step) for new people who really have no idea what any of this is. And actually show the steps, instead of talking about the 5 steps they left out of the video. I've noticed that in a lot of these videos, the creator talks to the viewer like they already know many of the computer/tech terms or the websites or systems they are using. Which is super frustrating.
Does anyone know why you can't have your games viewed by boxart??? I have anbernic models from almost 2 years ago that have arkOS and I was able to set it up to view games with a big box art with the game title below, was really wishing it would be possible to do that on muOS but it seems to just be lists and no box art view why? is there a theme that can do this or maybe even a better OS that can do that?
Hi, great video. Quick question if anyone can help? I'm running latest baked muos and want to use my modified stock sd card in slot 2. But the roms do not show up in the explore section?
Knulli is better imo. First it’s a fork of the most popular emulation software in the world Batocera. Second it’s build on EmulationStation. Third built in ScreenScraper it gets all the game artwork for you. Fourth Bluetooth actually works. Fifth the August build has literally every feature as MuOS except the browser card management which is coming soon.
I have been looking for this guide all day. What took you so long? Did you try out Knulli? I like that interface but I need a guide on it but I dunno if it's worth it. Your thoughts?
Hi, thanks for your video. Could you help me to configure naomi with muos. I play my games with stock os but there is an issue with muos. It launch dreamcast and i go to dreamcast menu and i cantine do anything. Could you help me please. Good day.
Hey, Coulter! I have a question. I ordered mine with the included 128gb Sd cars that has more games on it. Would that be the card I used to install muOS? Also, when doing so, would it delete everything off of it?
In my case I installed muOS on a spare 8GB card and put the card Anbernic sent into the TF2 slot, and you'll see how I map to that card a couple of times in the video :) Your "roms" folder in the TF2 slot will get picked up automatically though!
For the issue of the bad font, could you not just load up the SD on the computer, and remove the theme (or rename the folder so it cannot be found)? I would assume muOS would have a fallback theme. I don't have this device or CFW yet, so I don't know for sure... Just something I was thinking....
Yea I did try that, but it looks like, when applying a theme, muOS extracts the selected .zip from the themes folder and copies it to areas of the linux filesystem, which is more tucked away on another partition of the SD card. I didn't have a linux box on hand to dig deeper so the re-flash seemed to be the fastest method. If you find a speedier way to force a theme change please let me know (in case I mess up again lol)!
Do i need one new sd card to replace the slot 1 card and use tht for the os and the roms or should i use 2 separate sd cards , one for os and one for roms for slot 1 and 2 ?
Hi, I installed muOS on the SP (with the possibility of switching to H for now since I also have that), I put the sd2 with the roms that I use with StockOs, but the roms of the MDCD and PCECD folders don't start. It sees the folders, it sees the roms, but when I click to start them, they don't start and it returns to the list of roms. What can it be? Is it possible that they need a different core than StockOS? And in this case which one? Because if these roms were placed in the wrong folders, the roms really shouldn't appear in these folders right? On Stock Os they go into these folders (MDCD and PCECD) and they work, but in muOs then which folder should they be placed in to work?
@@CoulterPeterson The bios were all there and to be safe I had inserted them in both SD cards. I managed to solve it by pressing select while I was in the list of games and choosing the emulator to use! In the end I managed to make them work :) The only thing remains that for these two folders I can't show the box art, because the appropriate folder is missing in the appropriate section (sd1 - MuOS - info - catalog) :(
hey guys I need a little help, I've followed all the steps in the last part for the GBA bezels how ever I cannot get the GBA start up screen to show after copying over the GBA bios files the game just starts up without the GBA start screen. Has anyone else had this issue?
I sure did 😅 I would first grab fresh bios files meant for mgba from the internet, and then, while you have a GBA game running, open the Retroarch settings and head to the directories settings to see what folder your bios files are set to, then make sure your new files are in there 🙂 It can be changed for each system which tripped me up haha
Is there any reason to go for 2 microsd card setup? The console itself is quite cheap but the price almost doubles often when you buy two generous, quality cards like 32+256. What size of single card would you recommend?
I wouldn’t recommend buying the 2nd SD card when ordering the device. You’re better off buying a Sandisk SD card and using it as a second card, I’ve seen many people say that the cheap SD cards that come with these devices eventually corrupt and need replacing.
My device came in with a line of dead pixles on it completely unusable so I send it back and they're telling me do I want to refund or another product and based off of their $20 shipping cost and they're 18-day waiting time I didn't want to do that again so I'm just getting my refund and it sucks cause i wnated a sp
god, I am such a tech-idiot i can't even figure out how to launch my games on mu os. I hit retroarch, then i hit load core, then i try to select mgba, and it just boots me back to the previous screen, nothing selected. I can't find anything except "ports" under explore content. for some reason it just will not look at anything in my second sd card slot, though i just swapped over the stockOS microsd i was using, like the guide suggests.
I would try the latest Knulli CFW that just came out. It’s way more efficient for emulation but sadly doesn’t have the port master compatibility yet that MuOS has.
@@GrimMeNaCe it does have port master, BUT the compatibility is far less. A lot of PC ports that work on MuOS from my experience so far don’t work on Knulli. I’m confident this will change fairly soon as they continue to progress and update!

Honestly I'm not even considering a different OS until I see sleep mode when I flip down the device. that option is a must for this thing imo.
So this will theoretically work on the RG28XX?
hey guys I need a little help, I've followed all the steps in the last part for the GBA bezels how ever I cannot get the GBA start up screen to show after copying over the GBA bios files the game just starts up without the GBA start screen.
@@CoulterPeterson thank you this worked!
Sounds like you need to add your roms to the roms folder muOS makes on the SD card, or the ROMs folder on your second SD card, if you're using one
I want ArkOS, any chance in the future you think?
muOS worst now my device not working only black screen
whenI try to connect to the device via wifi as described, I get "this address took too long to respond." anyone know what i might be doing wrong?
Hey by the way can you do a gameplay video for Nintendo 64 and maybe some DS games with the touch screen hacks enabled
Could I run newer rpgmaker games on this?
Apparently somebody on reddit said theirs exploded. That makes me very concerned now that I ordered one
Can we get muOs for trimui smart pro and r36s?
The best CFW for playing 16bits and 32bits only ?
So far Botacera 40 takes my win on my RG35xxsp
I would try the latest Knulli CFW that just came out. It’s way more efficient for emulation but sadly doesn’t have the port master compatibility yet that MuOS has.
Knulli does have port master if that's what you mean.
@@GrimMeNaCe it does have port master, BUT the compatibility is far less. A lot of PC ports that work on MuOS from my experience so far don’t work on Knulli. I’m confident this will change fairly soon as they continue to progress and update!
Do you know how to connect usb controller on muOS?
I believe you need a "USB C OTG adapter" that converts USB C to USB type A
Does your clock in MuOS have an issue? Mine seems to turn fast after a while.
I leave it on network time so haven't noticed any problem :)
@@CoulterPeterson i have network time sync or whatever that's called enabled but I still have encounter such an issue. Apparently it's called clock drift by some discord members.
Awesome vid but man you go so fast through those menus I cannot keep up. Please slow that part down a bit for us noobs who do not know anything! LOL
Totally fair! Just added the written guide version to the description if you prefer!
Garlic, yeah!
