Got a 20 inch version in 44 magnum. It's definitely my "fun" gun. Brought it to a friend's when they were sighting in their AR's. They loved the action of it but beat into their shoulders too much for them. Just have the iron sights on it though I have a picatinny rail for the receiver. We moved back, starting from about 25 feet, then 25 yards, 50 yards, then 110 yards. At 50 yards the bead was the size of the target on the sight on the paper. I didn't shoot there, but when we were at 110 yards, I figured why the hell not try. From a rest, with the bead the size of the entire paper, my first shot was 4 inches left of dead center. I managed an 8 inch group with 4 rounds like that. I was very happy with it, and I'll never forget my friend's face when he looked up from his scope to me after that first shot. Dozens of rounds to sight in for him, and the cowboy gun was a laser pointer
Hahaha I love hearing stories like that! I would love to get the 44 version of this gun! I dont reload so 44 is just easier to come by than 45 Colt. Was yours a Henry or a Marlin?
I have the 20 inch barrel all brass version. Cowboy ammo is great for target shooting, but if you want to unleash the full power of this gun, you need to get some Buffalo Bore Deer Grenade +P ammo.
Cowboy ammo is all you need for deer the 850 fps ammo will be 1150 or so out your barrel. Thats enough to go stem to stern in a 300 lbs hog at a 100 yards. I have killed a many deer bear and hogs with 1150 to 1200 fps 255 rnfp ammo.
@@scottkeppler7442 Correction, you can load a 45 colt way past a 44 magnum. When Dick Casull designed the 454 casull round, he was using a 45 colt casing, when the time came to make them for public use, he decided to lengthen the case a bit due to so many single action 45 colt pistols which would those guns up.
Very nice. Where the hellllll did you find this music? It’s the perfect lever action song
On the fence between a Henry .44 Mag and a Henry .45 LC lever carbine... Maybe I'll have to get both...
Man, you can show off a gun. That is beautiful especially the receiver...
Thanks friend!

Ok. Now I’m a little jealous “I aint never gut me one a dem dar lever guns”
Time ter git yer won 👍🏻
You got a great deal. New it’s selling for $1399 at my local gun bandidos.
Aww man I know! It’s crazy how much lever guns have gone up! I still want more so I need those prices to fall back down, you feel me?
It would be better if wasn't color cased and had a hooded front blade like a marlin. But thats my opinion.
Do you not like the look of color case hardening?
Case hardened is nice, but if you don't like it you can get it without
Will be getting one soon.
Yes indeed! You going to love it!
🖤
❤️
CC hardened, oh yea !
Very nice
That special rainbow 🌈 steel
SHUP and take my money
Hahaha right?!
Maybe flip the gun over for the (follower rod?) insertion. You flagged your hand pretty hard. 4 rules
I want one but 45 Colt is unicorn dust these days
You’re not wrong about that. Lucky I ride Unicorns 🦄 Lmao!
Look again, I'm finding it now. Not all brands and loads, but it's there
