Lets be honest here, if Senna had taken a leaf out of Prosts book and settled for second position in the first 5 races of 1994 then the car would have been improved enough to start winning the rest of the season. Senna was Senna and this is what made him different, he raced to win period and that proved costly when the car in 1994 was not up to stratch.

A McLaren and a yellow helmet, then you know who's by the corner speeding through.

That's the key of the sport, perhaps any kind of sport. To inspire the younger generation into something worthwhile. Remember Senna, Senninha, and all the pro-active organizations they have... to inspire children and give them hope. Hamilton is in F1 and his inspiration is Senna!
Good Luck for F1 2012 Season!

Lewis is such a champ, it's really good to know that pilots of this era still have hero's, specially if we are talking about the major legend off all F1 times, Senna - Drive to Perfection

Personally I hate the constant helmet colour changing by today's drivers. Back when Senna was racing you always knew who was driving, because the helmet was their signature, today, well it could be anyone driving, because, as the guy said, they have a different design just about every week. Choose 1 design and stick to it. It was good enough in the past.

It's the symptom of your lifestyle. People never are happy about what they have, they always want more more more more... That's what is destroying resources for the future generation.

as a senna fan hes not supposed to have senna results. that helmet is a homage to senna which means it was made to respect the man who once wore a similar helmet. that has NOTHING to do with the results of hamilton it never will. anyone can make a helmet like that as a homage, and you dont need good results to honour him. its like saying that todays soldiers must kill as many as ww2 soldiers did if they want to wear homage uniforms.

I'll PM you an interview where he explicitly states he is like Senna, Alonso is like Prost, and Vettel is like Mansell. There's a big difference between being inspired by him, and dropping in subtle hints that he wants to be compared to Senna. And then of course at one point explicitly stating that as well. Senna was an inspiration for half of the grid, but you don't se anyone else drawing comparisons between the legend, and the spoilt baby of Formula one.

His original helmet was always a tribute to Senna, although he has compared himself to Ayrton in the past. The story about his first helmet being yellow so his dad could identify him on the track was a load was bs.

And how exactly is their rivalry anything like Senna's and Prost? Senna and Prost got to the point where they were running each other off the road. The worst thing thats happened to these guys is the Hungary '07 incident-caused by Hamilton by the way. The point is he drew comparisons between himself and Senna, when there are none. I didn't say he thinks he's on par with Senna, because that would be ridiculous on many levels, but he draws comparisons like this nonetheless. Also, no need to swear.

Hamilton is not senna, but out of the current bunch of drivers he's the closest you can get.
