Hey Andrew, I just wanna say that watching your mechanical skills has helped me get more involved with troubleshooting and fixing specific problems instead of throwing parts and hoping something sticks. For example, today with a Raypak pool heater with a flickering display, I thought the display readout or controller board was bad and was going to consider replacing it before I worked from power supply coming in and verifying wiring diagram -- there was a stray ground that was not attached to a sheet of metal within the heater. As simple as that and it just took figuring out what a heater/electrical needs to in order to work. Thank you and keep posting videos, I watch them all from start to finish.

Andrew, we have watched you move/drag several containers over the last two years. It would be interesting to watch you fabricate two removable wheels to attach to the container to move it more easily.
Thread-Locker is expensive. If the bolt is going into a blind hole only put the locker into the hole. Otherwise most of what's on the bolt burps out. Absolutely love your work by the way. All of it. You're an inspiration to me. Sure I'm not alone. 👍👍👍
Containers can make nice ad hoc workshops; adding a 10x10 or 10x20 pop up in them that you can pull out and quickly set up also makes for a great covered work area. Some gravel in front also makes a nice mud free work zone, adding a couple furniture blankets also makes a nice to crawl on passing.
Some would say you are blessed or lucky. I'll tell them that you worked and continue to work your ass off for all you have. No luck or blessings about it. Great Job Andrew, your videos may be long but dammit I watch them all to the end. That's entertainment, thank you for all you do.
I remember when I first found Andrew's channel...we both have the same pressure washer.....but the first thing that amazes me and pretty much every video.....is that scenery!!!
This is my 8th “Andrew video “ in a row, reason for the “binge watch “ ? Chemo just kicked my butt, again! When you watch his videos, sometimes you get the impression that something is unsafe/weird or whatever. After 7 in a row I am convinced that is totally untrue. He is definitely up there in the safest class. Would I do some of the things that he does? No, but I am a born scaredy-cat! What brought me to this conclusion? I considered my working live of 53 years, 20 years at sea as an Engineer Officer with a cruise line ( I would spend an average of 10 months/year actually at sea) then the rest, ashore, as an hotel engineer. He is certainly safer than I was. So, Andrew, my sincere apologies for mentally maligning you. Please keep on making your videos, showing the beautiful countryside where you live, and of course keeping us entertained. Thanks again, Very sincerely, Rod
I am sorry that chemotherapy and cancer is the reason you are bing watching these videos. I too think Andrew takes less chances than I did at his age. All the best of luck moving forward.
Andrew is definitely living a charmed life up in his mountain fortress area. Never a dull moment it seems. Luckily he has a nice group of friends to help him get his projects done.
I put the lights in the corners of the trailers also. Rocks kept breaking them until I put some RV furnace covers over them. Designed to keep bugs out but worked great for the rocks from the tires.
I was expecting you to space the 2 containers about 30’ apart, build a roof over them and enclose it for a work space/storage between the containers. We did that with three 40’HCs and had a 40x40 with a gambrel roof, built a nice little living space above the shop and container roofs. Welded panels on the door ends sealing them off and put the doors on the side of the containers except the one at the back that had doors on both ends and one side (was a bonus for buying 4 at the time)
@@chadjohnson8622 done like i mentioned doesnt qualify as a permanent structure here, the roof is bolted to welded brackets on the containers and containers arent mounted to the ground either just sitting leveled on gravel. Yea they would probably consider a porta john a permanent structure because it has a roof too just to creat a higher tax base lol
At first I thought you were joking because that is how his other container shop started out. If you haven't seen that you need to check it out. Andrew definitely knows about the possibilities with container structures!

Starting at 25:48 this is the place of the video that is my favorite. You and a friend setting up your new shop…. I love nothing more than going out to my shop, getting a big fire going and sitting out in it. Doing / working on what ever it may be. Or nothing at all. Just me and time alone and good coffee ☕️ good videos like this one!! Or reading another book 📖 on, from Books 📕 on tape or any of the many other book places here on the internet. Most of all, it’s just me and my MAN-CAVE!!
Hello Andrew. Weld one or more beams under the ceiling inside the workshop from wall to wall and attach a pulley and trolley. And weld a support under both ends of the straps. Many greetings from northern Germany.
I could be wrong, but I always thought he used a 360 camera on those types of shots. That is how he always is aiming the camera right at what he wants us to see, because it covers everything.
The image stabilisation on that camera is really impressive. You can see by the shadows how much the camera is waving around but the image is rock solid.
Ive had that same 4 wheeler for 20 years , it still runs like a top, I I’ve beat the living crap out of it! 😂 I feel bad for it now , knowing what I used to put it thru lol love you videos man!
Love Andrew...I don't think I ever laughed as hard about anything on the internet as when I saw him bring a chainsaw into his pickup to help fit a new radio...I will never recover from that.
I’ll call your “use of a chainsaw to install a radio” and raise you one “AC driving his pickup through a car wash to extinguish the fire in his vehicle. “
With all your welding skills, could you build a sled for the front end so you can drag those boxes? Just lift the box up, set it on the sled and secure it and have a front tongue to latch onto then drag it with the tractor or what ever. Is that a good idea?
I keep expecting him to fabricate a hitch on the bulldozer, cut out the truck, just bring the trailer directly. But I guess that has a downside, with the dozer winch he can spool out to a spot with better traction and then winch in, can’t do that if the trailer is directly attached.
Very cool place Andrew. Cannot wait to see how you fix it up over time. Anyone who has watched you channel for any amount of time cannot help but appreciate the benefits of sharpening one's mechanical abilities. Setting this place up and using it would be out of reach of most people. You made it look easy. Congrats man and thanks for the video.
Dude I am so envious of you, I was a construction equipment mechanic in the army and this is just awesome! We didn't have that model of truck when I was in, but I tell you what, it's not for the Hill country!
hi andrew, been subbed for a long time now and was wondering if we can look forward to a follow up video on the rv/camper on top of that hill. To see if youve taken any of the advice given to you regarding protecting the roof from trees, weather etc and the whole thing from rodents and bugs etc, dont want the camper rotting away on you before youve had a few good years of use given the time and trouble of setting up a great "base camp". All the best and carry on making the enjoyable videos
..right..I think I would have just ditched the whole idea of a flimsy camper and just dragged me another container up there and set up some living quarters in it..then the whole camp would be a "container camp"..I'm sure a guy who can build a container castle would have no trouble turning a container into a comfy living quarters.. :)
@@dyer2cycle hi yes i agree in principal, i just think andrew was doing what came as a first idea based upon availability and time factors etc. He may well decide in the future that he and his friends are spending enough time at the place to warrant a more substantial living quarters than the "flimsy camper". I am just concerned as to his thoughts regarding his currently available living quarters and if he takes some of the 'good advice ' given to him previously to maybe make sure the camper lasts long enough for him to decide in his own time. If he decides to 'improve' it i obviously would like to see " the camarata way " of doing it ; ) thanks

I like your videos and I love the weather like your home. I love this kind of work and the pine woodwork. I'm Thai 🇹🇭🌲
I always love how Cody is leading the charge! No dog has it better. Great video as always!
Andrew yes you definitely need to widen the path to your property to make things easier. Love your videos.
He already did
@@rollinlowford I skip over a lot of vid (I watch a lot) but if there's a Cat I watch all of it.
Personally, I would have gone with moving then painting. But Andrew does Andrew and that's what makes him the best.
Well he butted them up against eachother so that would've missed two sides. You might argue if you can't see them why paint them, but maybe he wanted the extra rustproofing. IDK 6 of one, half dozen of the other🤷♂️
Andrew setting up a small workshop at his vacation spot, I'm thinking ah it's for to fix small stuff on the camper or maby a bike. Andrew services his bulldozer, skidsteer, 4runner the first night 😂
I really enjoy your video's!
And that view wow!
Great to watch; your container setup is perfect and the US General Toolbox/cabinet is the best I've ever seen!
Watching your beautifully captured locations takes me back to my summer days spent running around Spring Glen, Ellenville, Kerhonksen and that area. Thanks.
Andrew is always tackling a "mission impossible " tasks up his mountain road👍👍😊😊
i couldn't help but laugh seeing the wet spot Cody left on the plywood in the shipping container. that sums up living with Labs right there. they want to be as close to you as possible no matter what your doing and 9/10 they are soaking wet. lol Cody is a good boy
Andrew certainly knows how to train his Labs to be his great companions they are.
It's ashamed your Army truck didn't come with lockers. Maybe you need one like your buddies.
You have a nice slice of Heaven on the mountain top. I smile every time Cody shows up with the frisbee.
Brings up a shipping container, gets stuck, tows the truck and trailer with the container using a bulldozer, brings up a ton of tools, toolbox, workbench and shelving....All just fix fix a starter! Go big or go home, you rock Andrew!
I’m laughing. I’m so glad you said you were there until 3am as I was in awe at how quickly and easily you built those units . I spent 4 hours the other day building a five drawer dresser for a friend . It just felt here were hundreds of screws . Trouble is that she still has another still to build .
By the way , that’s a great friend who doesn’t look at the clock when you’re on a mission . I’m impressed with that tool box too ❤️
notice how so many YTers said they needed patreon to make their channel grow...well, Andrew has never asked for money and i would say his channel has shown some remarkable growth....and will keep on growing with his fantastic can do spirit...and content..
Andrew, we have watched you move/drag several containers over the last two years. It would be interesting to watch you fabricate two removable wheels to attach to the container to move it more easily.
You can buy wheels that attach to the corners via twist locks
two skids welded under a container work as well, makes pulling them around much easier, and it's simple, cheap, durable, and a permanent solution
Knowing Andrew and how he operates, and moving containers as often as he does, he could build himself a machine similar to what PODS uses.
@@MangoVisionn it’s Andrew… he doesn’t just buy it if he can make it
Thread-Locker is expensive. If the bolt is going into a blind hole only put the locker into the hole. Otherwise most of what's on the bolt burps out.
Absolutely love your work by the way. All of it. You're an inspiration to me. Sure I'm not alone. 👍👍👍
Always entertaining to see if the towing vehicle is the irresistible force or becomes the immovable object in Andrew’s videos!
When using rustoleum I like to add Japan dryer and catalyst Hardener, they help dry the paint and give it a better and longer lasting gloss.
“Look at this nice grass!”
*Drives Dozer over the whole yard*
And that's why we love his content. LOL 😁😁
Bawhahahaha 😊👍.... Thought the same thing!
Nature made grass grow here for NO REASON (puts a set of cans on)
Containers can make nice ad hoc workshops; adding a 10x10 or 10x20 pop up in them that you can pull out and quickly set up also makes for a great covered work area. Some gravel in front also makes a nice mud free work zone, adding a couple furniture blankets also makes a nice to crawl on passing.
Wow that’s a beautiful view… great purchase Andrew!
Thanks again,
Very sincerely,
Rod
I am sorry that chemotherapy and cancer is the reason you are bing watching these videos. I too think Andrew takes less chances than I did at his age. All the best of luck moving forward.
Good luck with your health situation. Andrews videos certainly entertains.
Well wishes, his personality will grow on you, happy binging from some one who watched all even b roll
Take care ! UK..
I wish you all the best Rod, another channel you might like is CEE Australia very entertaining.
Take care mate, Chris.
I like that army truck Andrew , it’s pretty cool! Maybe you should paint it green but try mixing blue and yellow next time my friend! 👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
to be fair if they dont have army green in gallons they probably won't have blue and yellow in gallons either
@@tech99070 oh I definitely understand that brother, thanks for your response my friend!
Andrew is definitely living a charmed life up in his mountain fortress area.
Never a dull moment it seems.
Luckily he has a nice group of friends to help him get his projects done.
Love your videos, makes me wish I was 40 years younger..
I put the lights in the corners of the trailers also. Rocks kept breaking them until I put some RV furnace covers over them. Designed to keep bugs out but worked great for the rocks from the tires.
Or just mud flaps...
I was expecting you to space the 2 containers about 30’ apart, build a roof over them and enclose it for a work space/storage between the containers. We did that with three 40’HCs and had a 40x40 with a gambrel roof, built a nice little living space above the shop and container roofs. Welded panels on the door ends sealing them off and put the doors on the side of the containers except the one at the back that had doors on both ends and one side (was a bonus for buying 4 at the time)
You don't know New York State. Taxes skyrocket with "Permanent Structures"
Have you seen his container castle videos?
@@ModernSurvivalists been following him since well before the roof was put on and enclosed on the container shop, just mentioning what i was expecting him to do is all
Cody is getting to that age where he really reminds me of Levi! I miss him and I love Cody!
What a sweet view. Love that sound of the wind on those trees.
Very nice piece of the mountain! Nice spot you picked. Perfect view.
Always glad to see that you still got your Yanmar B50. It seems to be a very reliable and good machine. Great workshop either. Keep on going!
He has everything he needs on the mountain and at home except when he needs a hammer and uses a giant rock to hammer out pins on his excavators and anything else for that matter. That's why I love watching your videos haha.
I loved the shot at 17:26 of Cody sitting and watching to make sure you guys doing it correctly. Awesome setup. I wonder how many truck loads of rock it's going to take to fix that road.
Small part of the mountain...... shouldn't take to long.... he's got a new project...... happy road building Andrew.....take care and have happy trail's...
Leather brown would look so much better in that natural setting. They would just blend right in.
10:34 the view is just amazing, perfect place for relaxation, as a Finn I recommend you to build a finnish sauna and get a hot tub up there
Sauna overlooking that view would be something.
Hello Andrew.
Weld one or more beams under the ceiling inside the workshop from wall to wall and attach a pulley and trolley. And weld a support under both ends of the straps.
Many greetings from northern Germany.
This spot is looking so awesome, that view, and then to have a little shop and comfy accommodations up there. 👌 Perfection!
WHO ELSE CHECKS THE UNLISTED B PLAYLIST EVERY DAY!!!! 😂😂 love the videos keep up the good work
A nice electric heater and some survival suplies and first aid kit would be great in there too. Maybe a roll up bed
Fun how a fish eye lens mode he uses always makes Andrew look like he's going around a curve even if the road is straight...
What about those trees bending to get out of its way? Like the Knight Bus in Harry Potter
I could be wrong, but I always thought he used a 360 camera on those types of shots. That is how he always is aiming the camera right at what he wants us to see, because it covers everything.
@@CopperCreekCuts That's right. Also makes Self stick disappear.
I always thought he was using a drone instead of a stick
The image stabilisation on that camera is really impressive. You can see by the shadows how much the camera is waving around but the image is rock solid.
I love how when Andrew asked Cody a question Cody gave him the head nod. LOL 😁😁😁
That pulley at minute 26:57 in the container is huge, I've never seen one like it, nice video!
It's a 20ton for the D7 for someone who goes off the mountain.
That was by far the easiest time we've seen you use that driveway!😂. I guess I needed to watch further before commenting. I was so happy for you.
Ive had that same 4 wheeler for 20 years , it still runs like a top, I I’ve beat the living crap out of it! 😂 I feel bad for it now , knowing what I used to put it thru lol love you videos man!
22:20 Wow what a view! Super jealous of your spot up there ❤️
Love Andrew...I don't think I ever laughed as hard about anything on the internet as when I saw him bring a chainsaw into his pickup to help fit a new radio...I will never recover from that.
I could see him just building a bolt on, bolt off axle.
With the square corners, rocks, 3000#,unloading and building sled, he would need to move 15-20 containers up the mountain for a ROI.
@@martylost167 Not a full sledge just to wedges to prevent the corners of the container to dig in the ground
It's never too good to put too much hours and use on the carriages.
The truck is best and more efficient, using the dozer only when absolutely needed
Awesomely crazy drive but successful. Cody has matured
I want to see the huge brush fire!
ok
Adoro esses seus conteúdos!!! 😍♥️ Principalmente vídeos longos!!! 😃
Lunchtime content. Perfect.
Dude I am so envious of you, I was a construction equipment mechanic in the army and this is just awesome! We didn't have that model of truck when I was in, but I tell you what, it's not for the Hill country!
its like living off the grid up there. the General toolboxes are nice quality. Its looks even better up there now its getting established
hi andrew, been subbed for a long time now and was wondering if we can look forward to a follow up video on the rv/camper on top of that hill.
Airing the tires down will help with traction quite a bit
22:22 I wish that was recorded stereographically for VR headsets, that would have looked amazing. In 2D it still looks amazing also anyway. But 3D video on a VR headset is even more amazing.
I bought one of those cameras once, but didn’t really mess with it enough,
Totally agree with you I was thinking "boy, that sure doesn't look like Nebraska" 😄
That fish eye lens you use sometimes reminds me of a bad acid trip I had back in the sixties. Lol
You do like making things a whole lot harder for yourself Andrew to get those great shots and we really appreciate it. At 56 I'm in ore of what you have achieved for your viewers and always look forward to each and everyone of your videos 👍
The view from the picnic table is awesome!! Congratulations on such a great property!!
AC as a few year subscriber that’s hard of hearing (use hearing aides sometimes) I depend on full stereo headphones to listen to everything. Your editing and sound skills are the very best on YT. Even when you have wind noise it isn’t the harsh kind that hurts my ears. Even your loudest sounds running your equipment is always not too loud to hurt. Thanks for your care and skill. I recall a video where you had a separate lapel mic and talked about how you like to watch videos with good sound. Otherwise why bother?. Thanks again for your superb content and the production qualities.
Thanks
have you considered bringing loads of shale/ gravel from your castle rocks to your other driveway ? also it looks like the driveway could use some drainage ditches and colverts. i would enjoy seeing the driveway getting a huge upgrade
Hey Andrew! Love most of your content, Been a follower since the beginning! Just one critique from an old cameraman (9 Emmy’s ) I’m not a fan of the holding out of the window while driving. It’s very disconcerting and I would prefer to see a mounted go pro. It would be much more relevant. Otherwise I’m very impressed with your editing/ content!

In typical style, Andrew's "satellite" workshop is better appointed than most people's home shop. That tool cabinet is massive!
2:26 What trailer?
Can't believe they'd sell one off one of their stealth trailers.
@@ColdBrewLobster what makes it stealthy?
