    **How to Layer Peptides with Active Ingredients & Antioxidants**
    I've been asked this very question many times so I thought it was about time I made a video discussing the topic of how to use peptides with Vitamin C Serums, Retinol/Retinoids, Exfoliants and other active ingredients. The most interesting thing to me on this topic is how everyone has their own set of beliefs when it comes to peptides, how to add them into your routine, and even if they work at all. This video will discuss my thoughts on all these topics and more!

      @@nicolette3436 I love that we can all freely express our opinions here. I’m not convinced the peptides really do anything either but then, I’m not doing micro needling along with it, so they may not even be getting into my skin. I do love to see Sarah‘s enthusiasm for peptides. It will be so interesting to see after years of research, whether they really do anything. I do think they seem to help with micro needling. But if you’re not doing that (and I’m not) , who knows if they get into the skin

      I think every skin is unique 💛, many products that people love either don't do anything for me, or give me breakouts or worse 😅 I know peptides take a long time to have an effect. On me, Drunk Elephant Protini is amazing (this contain growth factor too) and I hate the company's philosophy, but my skin loves this product. The main effect is on my rosacea and my psoriasis, it repairs my skin, less irritation from everything, I think it's more effective than azelaic acid😅 I think it's because my skin is way better and retains hydration, this helps the effects of my active ingredients. I try a lot of products with peptides and only this one and the peptides from the Medik8 serum are effective on me!
      I agree with you, I believe that peptides have too much hype for the wrong reasons, I think that peptides can be very effective in repairing, protecting the skin, such as burns, and many other problems that anti-aging products.
      PS. Sarah you have always good videos and advices! 💛

      The Paula's Choice Peptide Booster is nice, I've repurchased it at least once. If you already have it I'd use it up. Once I ended up using the RevivSerums Ultimate Serum I started to prefer that one, it is a bit more pricey but it is also almost 3 times the amount of the Paula's Choice. My favorite peptides as of today would be: Copper Peptides (GHK-CU), Acetyl Octapeptide-3 (Snap-8), Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline), and Matrixyl-3000.

    I was wondering if you have tried the Depology Matrixyl 3000 serum? I just started using it, but I saw that you can't mix that with ascorbic acid. But do you think you can use that prior to using Trentinoin? Also, if I put on ascorbic acid, wait 10 minutes, then put on the matrixyl 3000 do you think that would be enough time?

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  25 дней назад +1

      I have it and have been meaning to work on my review for it! I do think you can use it with tretinoin, if possible I'd apply a light serum in between. From my understanding typically 15 or so minutes should be a sufficient amount of time and gives the skin time for the pH to adjust back to being more neutral. That would work well if you spend that time getting ready, making coffee, or styling your hair then go back and finish your routine.

    So If I apply my Geek & Gorgeous C serum in the am. Even if I let it sit for 30 minutes or so, it's still not a good idea to use peptides after the serum? Same question, If I put a neutral layer like glycerin serum before the peptides? I'll use the Vegreen Mucin Serum in the daytime, which has peptides as well, so I should not use it as well if I'm using ascorbic acid? Just want to see if I'm the right track....Thanks1

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  27 дней назад

      I tend to agree with @manuelgonzalez785 I think if you wait that long it should be just fine and absorbed and working and you won't have any issues. Nothing "bad" can happen from using peptides and ascorbic acid together, but sometimes the low pH can render the peptides not as effective as it might be otherwise, but it won't damage your skin. Not all peptides are as sensitive to low pH as others. I think using the Vegreen Serum is just fine, I actually really like that one, too.
