    I've run my boat in this lake for at least 4-5 years without issue. All was clear. A Lady walking a dog ran geese in pond, within a Split second literally split second is all it took. BE SAFE EVERYONE!

    This makes me sad. Been watching your videos for a few months now, I just skipped off a turtle yesterday in a small pond with my 30" hydroplane. The turtle wasn't hurt but I skipped right off its shell with my right sponson. Didn't see it. Glad you posted this because we all have to be aware/responsible when we enter the water.

    Just got into RC.. Maiden Voyage I was buzzing around a lake that was pretty big. About 45-49 mph just far enough to not be able to see.. After reviewing the video of the run I noticed I almost took a large bird out. Luckily for the bird he was paying attention or heard it coming and it missed him because the bird hauled ass.. If I would have hurt or killed the bird I’m not sure I would still enjoy the hobby as much being a fellow animal lover. Sorry that happened to you but I do appreciate you sharing your story ..

    It's such a shame about the Canada Goose. I didn't see them in your video either. They must have been chased. I just had back surgery and my son got me my first remote control boat ever. I was watching videos and found your channel. Pretty darn neat!!!👍

    I decided to comment on this older video since I feel it is a very important subject. It is a real shame what happened and I feel for you being an animal lover myself. You have a big heart Big B and that comes through in your videos. You're very fortunate that there weren't any Karens around to witness this or you'd be looking at possible fines and a high likelihood of having the pond closed to model boats. It could have been far worse if your boat flew out of the water at 50 MPH and hit a person or even a dog walking along the shore. One way to protect yourself is to become a member of the North American Model Boat Association (NAMBA). It only cost $50 per year and you get insurance that covers up to $2,000,000 in property damage and $500,000 in bodily damage. Having a NAMBA membership in your wallet will save your ass if you hurt someone or someone's property while running model boats. Most of the ponds around where I live require insurance in order to run model boats. Just some food for thought. Boat gang!

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 года назад

      Thanks George, I wasn't aware of the NAMBA offering insurance for boaters I will definitely look into it. Thanks again

    Grew up racing in APBA running outboard alky hydro's and runabouts, when there's 12 boats out there, sometimes shit happens. I've seen many ducks, and fish killed. When your running at high speeds you don't have time to react and move, plus a turn to avoid a duck could cost you your life, or even the guy next to you or behind you. Casualties of boat racing. Ofcourse it's different when your not in the boat, but even these boats the reaction time is minimal. It's OK to feel bad, your human and you have a conscience, but sometimes things are unavoidable

    I hit a cat once with my mini revo, I don't know where this cat came from but it was in the direct path of my mini revo, I was going at least 45+mph, The cat was fine, I still see from time to time, but it snapped my chassis, my bulkhead and my servo saver was all messed up. Gave me a reason to upgrade it though.

    • @GTfour01
      @GTfour01 3 года назад +3

      I don't agree. With RC boats reaching these speeds and the unpredictable movent of birds, these kind of run ins are basically unavoidable and will occur sometime when running these kind of models..
      It's unfortunate but sadly, accidents happen.

    • @VikingDudee
      @VikingDudee 2 года назад +2

      @@GTfour01 Yup, It sure does, But I know for a fact im not having a spotter out when I run my Maxx at 70mph, Especially when I can only run it once or twice a week and normally I run it in an empty lit up parking lot after work at 3 in the morning, no one I know will be awake lol. @@IRONCLADRC Not hard to pluck a bird actually, We do this with our older chickens that quit laying or have feet injuries that can't really be fixed, plus give us and our family food and we get more chickens for the eggs and to have as pets, Got one shes a speckled fat thing that can't run for nothing doesn't lay anymore, but once you start rolling over the logs we have on the edge of the property calling for her she waddles right over, shes right at your feet waiting for them worms or ants.
