At 8:36 the image on the right is the 24-200 and the left is the 24-70 2.8 z lens. My labels got deleted in FCP... but if you were wondering it just shows how good the 24-200 is.
I’m a fashion/make-up portrait photographer based in Switzerland and for static work I mostly use an H6D. Last year I invested some time to select a new full frame system. I’ve used the A7RIV, the R (and later on the R5 for a few days), the S1R, the SL2 and the Z7 (and briefly the Z7II). I can confirm that the Z7II is not only the best landscape camera of the bunch, but also the best for fashion and portraits. The tonality, dynamic range, colors and sharpness are unbelievable. The raw files are so easy to process. My editor claims it saves him 30% time over Sony and Canon files. Let alone the files from Fuji. Only the SL2 came close. I’ve never used Nikon before, but for this image quality I gladly forfeit a few milliseconds in AF speed vs the Sony and Canon. Next to that the Z lenses are stellar. Still some limitations in choice, but what’s there is absolutely amongst the best for full frame. I find myself picking up the Z more often for personal work as well. As a photographers camera it’s the best of the MILCs that I know of. You can tell that pros have been consulted for this camera.
This comment is so great that I took a screenshot shot. It's really helpful for me because I want to start taking portraits as a hobby and product photography because I'm in marketing. I'll get the Z7II
I'm looking to up grade to the z7 II, i shot with the z6 mark1 for a year and a half and it produced some of my favorite portrait shots ever, and i completely agree. The raws are extremely flexible. I wish more reviews would speak more on the raw files. More than just the technical details of the noise ets. Nikon raws have incredible flexibility. Im look to get this z7II very soon 🤙🏽
why are they easier compared to fuji? I'm currently shooting fuji x system, tempted to go to z system but hear that there is a fujimXH2 coming next year...i love landscape and some small family portraits
@@terencegibbons5455 hi Terence, first the Nikon NEF files have great lattitude, meaning that you have a lot of possibility to recover shadow and highlight details without introducing side-effects. In general that is an advantage of a larger sensor over a smaller sensor (there are exceptions though) but esp. the Z7 sensor is great considering the high resolution. Furthermore, Nikon files hardly need sharpening or noise reduction as Nikon’s standard are already very good. Fujifilm applies standard quite aggressive sharpening and noise reduction. You can dial them down in the settings, but only for jpegs. But for us the most important difference is the very neutral colors that Nikon applies. Already in standard mode the colors are very realistic and without annoying color casts. When compared to Fujifilm, you will notice that esp. the X-system has a blue/green color cast with skin tones and a magenta color cast in shadows. I’m talking RAW files here, not jpegs after film simulations. That always requires work in post. Of course we have Styles for that (in Capture One, or presets in LR) but after applying a Style you always need to fine-tune. For landscape and product photography that is not a big deal in general, but for fashion and (make-up) portraits like we do, it’s very critical and always additional work. By the way, the X-cameras are more affected by this than the GFX line. So, we are extremely pleased with the Z-system. By the way, another advantage of the Z-mount are the great lenses Nikon offers for that. We use various lenses but each of them is amongst the best ever in their category. Perhaps not always the fastest in aperture, but stellar in performance. The 85/1.8 is a great example of that and so are the 50/1.8, the 50/1.2 and the 24-70/2.8. Gorgeous stuff…
I use my Nikon Z7 for everything.... Landscapes, Portraits, Table Top etc. and I have won many competitions with my images. Maybe you think the Z7 is just for landscapes not me.... My Z7 proves itself every day.
@@majamidzor3801 Hi Maja, it is not worthwhile for me to upgrade to a Z7 II because it is not much of an upgrade for me. I am waiting to see what the Z9 has to offer and maybe go for that one. If I decide against the Z9, I might go for a Z6 II or just wait and see if they come out with a Z 8 or who knows what will be next. Nikon seems to be taking quite a while to come out with new cameras in the higher end market so I’ll just have to wait and see.
I shot Nikon for 20 years then switched to the Sony A7RIV. After two years I went back to Nikon for most of the same reasons you chose Nikon. Their firmware updates are doing great for AF. Still, the Nikon AF works perfect for landscape and portraits.
I have the R5 and Z7ii. The Nikon files are great. I used the Nikon at an event instead of the R5 with the Z70-200s and liked it a lot. I was trying out the wide s and wide L with face detect and it worked very well. I actually had the R6 and sold it for the Z7ii as if I were out in the weather elements, I would trust the sealing of the Nikon more so. I definitely thought about going all Nikon once the Z8/9 hits. It’s a very fun and addictive system with great ergonomics and functionality.
It makes me feel more sane to hear others having a similar experience to me. I'm gald to hear the z7ii worked well for you for event type shooting as I have yet to use for that. I really feel like the z70-200 is the superior lens to the canon rf70-200. Even though it is bigger, its crazy sharp and I feel renders a better image. I think this system will continue to gain traction.
I’m glad I came a crossed this video. I’m currently on the Nikon f-mount system and looking to moving to the Z mount. I’ve been following all the Nikon Z8 rumors forever and have been holding out for that camera but just getting tired of waiting so last week I kind of reluctantly bought a used Z7ii. I do a lot of hiking and landscape photography so I think the Z7ii is going to be perfect for that. When the Z8 comes out I’ll have a deck on to make because I also like sports and wildlife. Can’t wait for my Z7ii to arrive any day now, I’m going to pair it up with the 24-120 F4.
Your reason #5 is why I have owned Nikon exclusively. The design, handling, and ergonomics have always been something that Nikon does extremely well in my opinion.
The Z7II is a great landscaping tool . Not sure if you mentioned it , but the fact that it has 64 native ISO is great . Also I like how when you flip the LCD screen out it disengages the EVF . I also came from Sony ( A7RIII , A7III) , but I enjoy using the Zs more . I currently have a Z6II and just traded my Z6 for a Z7II ! Good times !
I'm only at reason 4 (lenses) and have to comment on the quality and honesty of this video. Up front, you emphasized how this was subjective for you. Your reasons are outlined with just the right amount of examples (something missing from other so-called "reviews"). Just like you said the z7II felt like a camera designed by photographers for photographers, this video feels like a photographer being straight about his gear. Too often we have videos that feel like RUclipsrs making gear videos. Thank you.
I agree 100% as have been shooting with the Z6 for a few years for landscape and found for wildlife had to shift to Canon but l always use the old Z6 for landscape because of the files as you said. The Z system is definately underrated yet certainly has it's issues in regards sport and wildlife but good to see it getting some love. Yes the autofocus is slow but very precise and l sure wish Canon had pinpoint as it allows you to get between branches n stuff.
I second the 24-200. I have them on my Z6II. Despite not being an S Line, it is good enough for general purpose. In broad daylight, you usually hit F8 or F11
I agree with all your points. I mainly shoot landscapes as well. I started off with the Z6 and I have put it through so much punishment like seascapes, waterfalls and in heavy rain. I never had any issues. I now have the Z7ii and I absolutely love it. I also do a little bit of portraits and the files that come out of that are amazing also. The eye autofocus is plenty good for portraits.
Being a landscape photographer & Nikon user since the film days I always believe that Nikon has always produced the best cameras for landscape photographers. There were the dark years when Canon took the limelight for its superior autofocus system back in the late 80s & early 90s. Many of us even today still value the old AI & AI-S lenses which have their unique characteristics when adopting to newer bodies (I have a Z5). I have one Z-Mount lens the 28mm f/2.8 & it's a lovely carry around lens. It's awesome to hear many photographers praise the Z lenses not only on its sharpness but quality & character. It was refreshing to hear from a Sony user to switch to Nikon for the reasons you stated in your video; well done!
Long time Nikon shooter. From the 6mp D70s to the Z7. I love my Z7! Outstanding image quality. I own the first iteration of the body and I am very pleased with it.
This video really confirmed my bias and makes me feel good about my z7ii purchase haha. I primarily shoot landscapes and the camera just seems perfect for that. I picked up the 24-200 and broke down and picked up the 14-24 as well...I'd say I'm set for any backcountry photos that I could imagine...Excited to get up to the mountains this weekend and put them to the test.
I am a canon shooter, I have an aging 6D and when I held the z7ii I have to say it's a beautiful camera in the hand. Feels wonderful to hold and very well designed. It also looks beautiful. I think the pictures look amazing, the focus system blows me away ( as the 6D have useless autofocus ) and the lenses seem really solid. I am very tempted to look into the Nikon cameras as an upgrade as they offer much better value for money IMO.
Couldn’t agree with you more man! The sharpness of the z lenses combined with the Nikon Z sensor, is unbeatable for landscape photography! Also, for general photography the z cameras work well, admittedly the af doesn’t quite compare with Sony but it works great in most instances, great video!
I shifted from a D850 to the Z 7II because I got a very bad MRSA infection in my hand and went for a lighter system. I shoot ships and landscapes, so it fit right in, and I think that little 24-200 walk-about lens is a great companion for that Z 7II.
Thanks for the video. I have a Z6 and I love it, but I really wanna get into landscape/portrait photography as well. I can still use my Z6 for street photography but I want more pixels and higher dynamic range for landscape.
👍👍 a camera is more than just a list of comparisons on a spec sheet. It has to give you a warm fuzzy feeling. A feeling of predictability and knowing that you are going to like the image file output. And also the way the computer handles the files. 50% is the taking of the image and 50% is post production. Cheers. Derek.
Thank you for your view on the Z7ii as a Landscape Camera. For your upcoming tutorials on how to set up the camera, I would be interested in a U? setup for manual focus lenses (adapted Contax Zeiss lenses). Just found your channel and I'm looking forward exploring your past videos.
Pick up an old 80-200 2.8 D lens. The lens is manual but the x factor is just something else. All metal, you could kill someone with it but for the price the files are incredibly clean.
I had been researching a new 'landscape' camera to replace my ageing Canon 5D2 (for what feels like years!). I eventually went with the EOS R because of budget realities and existing lenses, but my conclusions, all things considered, went something like: Best value - Sony A73 (+ Tamron lenses). Best (landscape) Camera - Yep, the Nikon Z7('s).
Seems like Nikon is really getting back in the game with the top dogs! Got my Z6 for a bit over 2 years now I think and I really like it. Thought of maybe changing systems for better video... but maybe I´ll just stick with Nikon. Z8 / Z9 should have better video capabilities as well I bellieve. Awesome!
I own the Z7 II and it is freaking perfect. I was really surprised. And about the lenses.. nothing beats the S line. Maybe a Schneider on a Phase One? Maybe...
Really interested in your opinion here. I’m a D850 photographer but have literally just ordered the Z7 II and waiting 🥱 Like you I hike into remote locations here in the Scottish Highlands. I’ve decided to change for various reasons / weight of equipment and space. I’ve ordered the adapter to be able to use my original lenses but I’ve wondered about trading on for z lenses. The 24-200 you mention is now I think a good choice (thanks to your review). Really found your vblog here of great value. Thank you
The z lenses are the best part of nikons new system in my opinion and the 24-200 is a great starting point. I have used the d850 ( along with everything else it feels like lol) and can say the z glass beats out any f-mount lenses I used.
Nice video. I shoot the Z7ii my self :-) The shoulder-strap your wear at 0:30 holding your camera. What is it, are you happy with it, do you feel confident it will hold your camera safely ?? I am considering something like that for my own use...
Fantastic review... I'd say Nikon and Fuji deal in pressure mediation and frequency response... The Z glass looks like it will fit the medium format soon. The images, even on this Z7II are astounding...and look more like a feeling and film as opposed to a digital rendering... ***Like DSD vs MP3
Great video!! I had the A7R4 all picked out....but now I am seriously considering switching to Nikon Z7II since I am 95% nature and landscape. This will be my first full frame camera.
Having used an A7riv and z7 cameras side by side for several months, I can say I found myself reaching for the Nikon as often I could. As a landscape photography tool, I prefer it… that being said the A7riv is a really great camera… we actually put together a review of it on our channel last year ruclips.net/video/EjS8AMq4yyI/видео.html . The one change I would make to that video now is that now that Sony has released the A7riv-a with the better screen they have fixed the biggest usability concern I had. Still the z7ii with iso 64, pin point af, low-light af exe beats it for pure landscape.
@@summitbid 24-105 f4, 100-400, and a wide angle (not sure which one yet). It's the reach beyond 200 that Nikon doesn't have in the Z mount....and I'm not sure how patient I want to be with some trips coming up.
Landscape, Portaiture, product photography. Nikon was smart with their lens flange mount size. The only thing better for scapes if weight is not a concern would be the 100mp MF camera. Since you have used all 3 brands, I'm interested in hearing your take on the EVF experience with all 3 brand cameras. If I understand it rite, with the Sony cameras you can zoom in the EVF which can help with chimping , etc. in sun light. Also the what you see is what you get? What is your take on it please?
The differences in EVFs for my use are small… you can actually zoom in on all three brands and I actually like the zooming in process on the Nikon best because you can map a button to zoom in 100% with a single press but the process on Sony and canon are not bad. The “what you see is what you get” is equally good on all three as well. Technically the A7riv has the highest resolution but I didn’t really notice a difference even when I was using them at the same time.
Thanks for this. I’m an amateur, downsizing/renewing cameras prior to retiring in a couple years. I’ve been looking to replace both my M8 & D3 into one camera, and I do mostly landscape. The Z7ii is on my short list now. And is that Wind River in the intro? My favorite hiking spot, going there this summer with couple of friends.
M8 as in Leica M8? Keep your lenses in that case, because they work really well on the Nikon Z system (using a 28 Elmarit and 50 Summilux myself as well as 21 and 35 Voigtlanders).
when I heard that this video was taken with the Z50 ,, I was very impressed sharp crisp contrast looks great !!! What lens is on it in this video?? What focus settings are you using in this video?? I am now a subscriber ... Thank You ( I have been thinking about a Z5 n 24-200mm,, what do you think of the Z5?? ) (i am not a rich guy but would like to have a cam with eye autofocus) (been shooting with Nikon since 15yrs old now 69yrs)D750 n D5600 now
Thanks so much! The video settings for the z50 were af-f with face tracking turned on. I think you would really enjoy the z5 with the 24-200! I would also consider the original z6 if you want to do video also since there are some limitations for video with z5 and you can find the z6 for close to the same price…
I just added the Z50 & 16-50 kit alongside my Z6II. I think it's a great combination having full frame and APS-C bodies. The little Z50 is so versatile, very capable, and convenient to carry around. The 70-200 S would pair well with the Z50, since that lens has VR. I frequently have my Z50 set up with my 70-300 4.5-5.6 AF-P (also VR), it's a super combo. Nikon's instant rebates are still in effect, the Z50 & 16-50 are currently $100 off.
GREAT VIDEO. Can you help !! My Sony 7 R is not working anymore and I have many Sony lenses. I saw the NIKON Z7 2 with the 24 to 200 yesterday and fell in love. I own the Nikon D800 with 3 lenses . very heavy. Is the adapter from Sony to Nikon a better choice to keep my Sony lenses? Or buy the camera with the Z lenses or buy the adapter and use my NIKON lenses. I like to do travel photography!!!! Thank you in advance.
I would check if there is recent firmware to the Sony to Nikon adapter, but I couldn’t get mine to work at all on the z7ii… honestly Sony lenses are selling pretty well right now and the adapter experience was soso at best. You really couldn’t go wrong with the 24-200 for travel.
How would 40X60 prints look from this camera (with a good lens and focus)? Does the Sony A7rIV and the extra MP make more sense for these sized prints? Thanks.
Can you give me some advice. I am leaning towards Sony A74 for landscape photo but also nature video clips. Am I crazy to go that direction instead of the 7ZII.
This is a tough call, and you are not going to make a wrong decision. In my eyes, the big advantage of the a7IV is the better video specs. It also has better tracking autofocus. With the z7II you get better image quality and dynamic range, higher MP and still very good video. To me it comes down to the lenses, and I feel that Nikon has better landscape glass at better prices than Sony. The 14-30 f4, 24-120 and 24-200 are all reasonably priced and have really great image quality (especially the 24-120. I sold my 24-70 2.8 because that lens is so good). Sony Equivalent glass (16-35 f4, 24-105 f4) is not quite as good when I have used it. Hopefully I helped you more than confused you lol.
@@summitbid I just recently transitioned from a D750 to a Z5 but I'm still using my old F-Mount Nikkor 24-120mm f/4 lens which has served me well as my general purpose lens. It produces awesome quality images plus the autofocus performs better on the Z5 with the FTZ adaptor! I can't imagine how the Z version of the 24-120 performs!
@michael Most non photographers love ridiculous HDR technicoloured junk though. For his time Adams was revolutionary but obviously he has been surpassed many times over in 2021. In saying that if he were born today and pushed todays mediums to their limit like he did in his time he would excel just as much.
Great review & helpful info - really considering the 24-200 while current rebates are still in effect. I do disagree with some of your AF observations - fast action is very doable in the appropriate AF modes. Even birds in flight. Not necessarily on par with the D850 - but the Z mark II's are tremendous all-arounders. Thanks for the informative video!
Yeah my observations on the action af may have come off as overly harsh... and to be fair I don't do a ton of action shooting... but the Canon r5 was so crazy good in that area it may have biased me a bit. (the flip side of that is that is as work with R5 files I'm mostly just wishing they were Nikon) But I do agree that the nikon z cameras are amazing all-rounders.
I agree with you, I just used my Z711 at a wedding coming from D750`s and by using all the focus modes for different scenarios, was absolutely blown away! 15 out of focus images for whole wedding! Absolutely stoked!
Hello All! May be it will be helpful for Nikon 7zii owners. I had problem "Lens initialization failed" during the first attachment of 24-200 Nikkor Z Lens to camera. It was solved when I turn camera on with the lens adjusted to the maximum focal length - 200 мм. It was my second lens of this type. The first has defect of small plastic ring with Nikkor name at the front of the lens - the ring was not fixed correctly - it jumps out - I exchanged it. The first lens also has initialization error - but it was gone by turn camera off and on as suggested.
It's only because of a certain fro dude spilling ill influence about Nikon that it attracts so much bullshit and negativity. Any one used these Z bodies know that they've got the potential to be endgame. On latest firmware they are about as easy to use as any brand. And you get some of the best lenses today. Yet the Z mount has so much potential in future.
After buying into the Sony A7 system I was relieved when one died just out of warranty and wasn't fixable. Back to Nikon - great image science ergonomics and fantastic lenses. For me i'm not so fond of that 24-200mm Z lens - its no better than the Sony lenses. The Z 70-200mm has to be the best 70-200mm lens by anyone...
Thanks for the video... trying to choose between the A7RIII and the Z6ii. AF is the primary concern. I primarily shoot landscape but have 6 kids lol. Nikons DXO marks on their sub $1k lenses combined with their ergs, Snapbridge, screen resolutions etc. is just the best all around choice (and at $2500 with the 24-70 F4!). The A7RIII with the Tammy 28-200 is also a very attractive consideration. Would love to hear your opinion. Sub'd! Looking forward to watching your journey.
If you are shooting mostly landscapes have you considered the original z7? You can find them for about the same price as the z6ii and you get the resolution bump. But between the z6ii and a7riii I would still go Nikon. I shot a lot of shots I love with a7riii but I wouldn’t go back to it. The Nikon colors and image quality plus ergos would outweigh the resolution for me.
I haven’t done any wildlife shooting with it yet but my feeling is that would be solid. The tracking is good but not as mind boggling as Sony or canon with the tracking.
I enjoyed your video but I’d disagree that the R5 or Sony’s are better as a general cameras. I’ve learned the hard way that the RUclipsrs only tell you the good things about certain cameras and explore bad things about other brands. Do you know that with the R5 if your battery level drops to 70% then your continuous shooting (mechanical shutter) drops from the 12 FPS to around 5? And the raw bit reduces from 14 to 12 if you shoot with electronic shutter? These won’t be told on RUclips my friend.
Extended shutter ( up to 15 min). Better low-light af (better af in general). There is no huge new feature, but the z7ii is just a snappier, better experience overall. Also dxo mark claims the dual processors squeeze a little better performance out of the sensor but I can’t tell the difference at all in real use.
@@summitbid Thanks, I appreciate the response. I use my 7II for landscape as well so I really cant justify the $1200 for the 7II especially since I use my 6II for general photography.
Oh Hey, one more question please. Is that "Smallrig" L bracket also a grip extension and if so, where can I buy one? I have the MEIKE and love it but its not an L bracket.
Nikon is crappy... especially the Z7ii.... I am just kidding. I send my Z7ii back but only to buy the Z6ii (again). The version ii are great, fast and you mention it... the outcome has its own character. I shoot last years with Olympus, Panasonic, Canon, Nikon, Fuji but no other combo deliver greater results... at least for me. And yes the 24-200 is great... if you do not know, it could be also a ptime lense. I❤️it.
The R5 rated by DXO at 95, Nikon Z7 98 and Nikon Z7II at a Full 100 >> Exactly My experience of Nikon since 1972 no need to even try Canon or Sony let alone buy their stuff But Hey my Canon Printer is awesome , My Sony TV is awesome and my Z7 has the Z Mount, My 24-70 f2.8 S is the Best ever made as is the 70-200 F2.8 S Nothing comes close. Shame the RF 70-200 is a Wild Life Dust Sucker in Africa where I operate from and it doesnt take a Teleconvertor !!!! Gimmick System IMO >. They must stick to copiers and Printers
You mention Canon R5, the Canon R5 is not fit for purpose, it was deliberately crippled by Canon to protect their cinema line cameras. This is a terrible way to treat their customers and support community.
When reviewers in photography magazines, or on any online platform say that a camera is great for landscape photography, this is their indirect way of saying that the camera’s auto-focusing abilities are crap.
You'll be well resistant to hearing this, but amidst your comments about usability, design, IQ and purpose-built "photographer first" for landscapes, you really should do yourself a favor and have a look at the Pentax K-1. (That isn't to discredit anything you're saying because it's bang-on. But just saying. I think you'd be surprised.)
For bird photography Z7ii is still much lacking mainly the autofocus and low light shooting in the jungle...it struggles to achieve focus. Images at ISO 16800 with noticeable noise....my friend's Sony A1 shows nice images even at ISO 20000. Hopefully new firmware updates would rectify the problems
You’re comparing two different cameras at different price points . The Z7II was never advertised as a bird camera , which let’s face it is a niche community . Lastly , the comparison claims you make regarding high ISO is interesting . I would like to see side by side comparisons to back up your claims .

@@summitbid I liked the rf but I used the 85 rf more and the Nikon 70-200 I can zoom in and out easily with my thumb. Very convenient
That’s a great point about the ISO 64!
Good to see Nikon getting some love!
And in the comments
please make a tutorial on how to setup the z7ii! I would really appreciate it.
I am working on one! hoping to get it out this month!
Couldn’t agree with you more man! The sharpness of the z lenses combined with the Nikon Z sensor, is unbeatable for landscape photography! Also, for general photography the z cameras work well, admittedly the af doesn’t quite compare with Sony but it works great in most instances, great video!
I keep reading how amazing the new Z lenses are. That is more of a reason for me to upgrade to mirrorless than new bodies.
As a Z7 user I found this very inspiring so thanks very much. I’m looking forward to catching up with your next videos. Subbed. Greetings from UK 🇬🇧.
👍👍 a camera is more than just a list of comparisons on a spec sheet. It has to give you a warm fuzzy feeling. A feeling of predictability and knowing that you are going to like the image file output. And also the way the computer handles the files. 50% is the taking of the image and 50% is post production. Cheers. Derek.
Great review! As soon as B&H has them in stock I will buy.
I just found your channel. Great work. Have you done a round-up review of all the Z lenses you've tried?
Thank you for your view on the Z7ii as a Landscape Camera. For your upcoming tutorials on how to set up the camera, I would be interested in a U? setup for manual focus lenses (adapted Contax Zeiss lenses). Just found your channel and I'm looking forward exploring your past videos.
Pick up an old 80-200 2.8 D lens. The lens is manual but the x factor is just something else. All metal, you could kill someone with it but for the price the files are incredibly clean.
Really like your videos and your honest take on each brand. Which lens did you use for the astro shot you talk about in this video? Thanks.
That was the z-Mount 20 1.8
Awesome!
Yeah I’m very excited for what Nikon has right around the corner.
I have the Z6ii and absolutely love it. Wish I could afford to go up to the 7. Nikkor Z mount glass is phenomenal.
I own the Z7 II and it is freaking perfect. I was really surprised. And about the lenses.. nothing beats the S line. Maybe a Schneider on a Phase One? Maybe...
Really interested in your opinion here. I’m a D850 photographer but have literally just ordered the Z7 II and waiting 🥱
Like you I hike into remote locations here in the Scottish Highlands.
@@summitbid I can now agree with you on the value of the z mount lenses; smaller, lighter and sharp.
Nice video. I shoot the Z7ii my self :-)
The shoulder-strap your wear at 0:30 holding your camera. What is it, are you happy with it, do you feel confident it will hold your camera safely ??
I am considering something like that for my own use...
It’s the peak design capture clip and I love it! I’ve been using it for years and am 100% confident in it… Toby also uses it and relies on it.
@@summitbid Thank you! I will check out that video. I am struggling between the two. Unfortunately the Nikon doesn't have all the lenses I need yet.
Just curious which lenses you are thinking for Sony?
@@summitbid Thank you.
I was on Sony A7R4 changed to Z7ii and it's great.
Yes its the Wind Rivers! We have a video all about that trip: ruclips.net/video/ctNMPBeuFu4/видео.html
M8 as in Leica M8? Keep your lenses in that case, because they work really well on the Nikon Z system (using a 28 Elmarit and 50 Summilux myself as well as 21 and 35 Voigtlanders).
Love for nikon..❤🔥🔥👌🙏🙏
Good video. I think the Z7 is a great all around camera, though.
Great Nikon ZII vlog, thanks for sharing
when I heard that this video was taken with the Z50 ,, I was very impressed sharp crisp contrast looks great !!!
Thank You so much for your quick and thoughtful response!!!
Great work dude.
I love it....very happy with the upgrade from the D850 and Z6
D850 for work an Z cameras for Fun...
@@roybixby6135 No No... I've retired the D850... Z7II is way better and just as reliable
@@MrWillJS excellent, i'm still thinking about upgrading from my D850
I was especially interested in your comments regarding the 24-200. Thanks for a great video!
Does this camera suitable for wildlife photography?
Do you ever use the Z50 with the 70-200 for the crop. I have a Z6 ii now and thinking about adding the APS-C little sibling.
I’d love to see a video showing your settings for landscape
Is there a chance you might be willing to share some raw files ? Just want to check out the resolution and edit ability
The Nikon Z7II is the BEST Landscape Camera (For Me) Too! I love my Z7 II and S lenses.
Great video. Insightful and candid.
Ancel Adams would have 100% shot with this Camera.
@michael Most non photographers love ridiculous HDR technicoloured junk though. For his time Adams was revolutionary but obviously he has been surpassed many times over in 2021. In saying that if he were born today and pushed todays mediums to their limit like he did in his time he would excel just as much.
I reckon he would have use a phase one iq 150
@@tallaganda83 Indeed, Adams was a big plate single shot, never bracket shooter.
Please let me know when you have additional tutorials on the Z7II
What lens did you use for the Astro photo?
I love how the card door works, I don't want a lock on the side.
Z9 will be the do all camera that some people are looking for it's coming out in a few months.
what L bracket are you using for this and any particular reasons why ? TIA
I used the small rig bracket. I find their brackets to be really good for the cost .
great video and review. how does the l bracket feel in the hand is it comfortable?
Yes! Very comfortable!
have you installed the new 1.2 firmware?
Yes I have! The low-light af is much faster now!
Thank you!
Also, I did get a chance to try out the Tammy 28-200 for a week last summer and it was really good but not as impressive as the Nikon 24-200
We are in Colorado Springs!
What about for wildlife ?
I haven’t done any wildlife shooting with it yet but my feeling is that would be solid. The tracking is good but not as mind boggling as Sony or canon with the tracking.
Are you able to make a living doing landscape photography or is this mostly a hobby?
My landscape photography is a growing part of my income but not the only thing I do right now.
I love you you said to “me”
great video thank u
I enjoyed your video but I’d disagree that the R5 or Sony’s are better as a general cameras. I’ve learned the hard way that the RUclipsrs only tell you the good things about certain cameras and explore bad things about other brands. Do you know that with the R5 if your battery level drops to 70% then your continuous shooting (mechanical shutter) drops from the 12 FPS to around 5? And the raw bit reduces from 14 to 12 if you shoot with electronic shutter? These won’t be told on RUclips my friend.
Strictly for landscape, what does the Z7II do that the Z7 won't?
And we are getting another firmware update for better autofocus this upcoming Monday!
I shoot WildLife with the Z7 as well as Landscapes and Astro with that camera and the 20mm f1.8 S Insane sharpness
@@Mr09260 The 85mm S lens reviewed by DXO Mark puts it as the best 85mm f1.8. It is actually 3rd best lens overall.
That Z7/Z7ii I can't find anything wrong with them for the work I do. 🤷🏿♂️
You mention Canon R5, the Canon R5 is not fit for purpose, it was deliberately crippled by Canon to protect their cinema line cameras. This is a terrible way to treat their customers and support community.
New AF firmware update coming soon
When reviewers in photography magazines, or on any online platform say that a camera is great for landscape photography, this is their indirect way of saying that the camera’s auto-focusing abilities are crap.
Nikon designs their sensors from the ground up. They outsource manufacturing.
Wait ... is it called a Z seven eleven? lol because that's what it looks like in the title.
Dpreview has a comparison feature. Z7ii is cleaner at high iso and much cleaner pushing shadows.
Please please please ditch the annoying background music on these videos. It’s super distracting…
Nice vid but could be cut down by half most likely. A bit too long for the amount of content.
everyone luvs nikon!! that's why they are going broke!!!!!!! lol!!!
Actually they're NOT, you should have a closer look at current/recent sales figures, etc.
