This video is awesome for 3 reasons. 1. Its Henry Turner being Henry Turner 2. It's refreshing to hear about USED gear reviews which is arguably more needed nowadays than new gear reviews. 3. Reminds people you don't need the latest version of whatever camera/lens to take good photos. Great kit has been around for years. Spend the money wisely but spend the time better.
When my 5Dii packed in a year ago, the obvious upgrade was the R6. After looking at various options I went for the Z7. I love the colours out of the Nikon and the 45mp sensor was tempting as I intend this to last me 10 years. The biggest factor strangely, was the grip. I use a wrist strap and can hook two fingers on the grip and let it hang there. I just love this camera. Lenses are 24-200, 14-30 and a Viltrox 24mm 1.8
One understated fact of the 45mp sensor is cropability. It's extremely versatile from that perspective. You can crop 30% of the image and still have a 24mp image left. Also, the "problem" with the Z7 is once you've shot with it and see how wonderful the sensor and output are, it's difficult to go back and use something less "capable".
Great little video on the Nikon Z7. I am currently shooting with both the Z7 and Z7ii. They are both wonderful cameras for landscape photography. I feel like they don't get enough love from the Nikon community since the z8 came out. One thing I love about the z7's is their size. They take less room in the backpack and are lighter to pack the distance. I also have the z24-200. I have the 24-70 2.8s, but the 24-200 is on my camera more for the weight and extra zoom. I'm also a user of the same pack as you.
I have the Z7 Henry and agree with everything you say, and would add the 5 stop stabilization (IBIS) has been a big improvement as well over the D800 I had before.
The Z7 and 24-200 is my dream combo, bought a used one ages back when I saw your videos on how good the 24-200 was. Not needing to change lenses in bad weather is a lifesaver. Only issue I have is mine has leaked a bit in bad rain, not sure why really. And the autofocus can be a bit of a pain when shooting in very low light.
This is my take on two key differences between the Z7 and Z7ii of what might or might not matter to people. 1) Extended shutter mode - The Z6/Z7, for whatever reason, Nikon has not upgraded the camera to support in camera exposures over 30 seconds. I think you are forced into bulb mode after 30 seconds. The mark 2 of both of those cameras can have exposures in 'extended' mode up to 15 minutes I think it is. Very useful for night photography, or when wanting to really drag the shutter with a 10 stop ND. 2) USB-C charging and power delivery while the camera is on/active on the Mark 2's. I can setup a small charging bank to the camera a never worry about swapping out the battery if I am doing something like a time lapse or again night photography. I also see that right now in the U.S. that Nikon has a $700 dollar rebate on new cameras which may also push down the price in the used market for either camera. Also makes me wonder with that discount if the Mark III's are around the corner. Clearing out inventory perhaps?
MKIII version rumors are flying around. Maybe or could be scraping up some cash for retooling production lines. Also, it has been a tradition so far that Nikon has these sales this time of year. If you’re not doing action/sports/wildlife the II version is a power house of a camera. You can get BIF but the keeper rate % will be lower.
Hi Henry I have the Nikon Z 7II . Just purchased the 180-600mm lens for my wildlife photos. Absolutely love it. Ive also got the 24-200. Hoping Santa is going to drop off a 14-30 to complete my set up. I do love the Z7 as you say it’s a real workhorse. Loved the second image and the black and white one. Brilliant , thank you so much for a very interesting advent occasion . Graham
I started using MPB because of your referrals and I’ve been thrilled with their service, prices and gear for nearly two years now. I bought my Z7 just from them last December and it was literally like new and whoever had it first never did the updates and maybe took a handful of shots. I just hope my skills keep improving to match the potential of the Z7’s features. It replaced my Nikon D7100 that still works perfectly after ten years of constant use. My son is using it now. My Z50 is four years old and works like new. It has had a few tripod crashes and suffered nothing more than two or three tiny scratches on the casing. So - I endorse your channel, MPB and Nikon cameras.
I had a z6II which was great for landscape but upgraded to a z8 as better for wildlife, and I absolutely love it. I have the 24-200 which is also my go to for landscape and also a 400 prime which is an amazing lens, works 29th 1.4x and 2x TC . MPB are great, I used them to sell my z6.
I've owned the Z7 for about 4 years from shortly after it came out and even though I bought the Z8 I am fortunate enough that I am able to keep both and love both of them for different reasons and some of the same reasons. The Z7 is great for landscape and cityscape photography because it does pretty much everything needed for that in a smaller , lighter body that is not too expensive now like you said, that is weather sealed, has IBIS for handholding, full frame 45 MP sensor for great image quality. there is no need for high performance focus tracking with landscapes.
Z7ii plus 24-120 f4. Whilst you lose some reach by not using the 24-200 I also have the 24-120 just has something about it that for me and landscape photography just stands out better.
I’m in a minority in that I shoot Pentax and have done since the days of the Spotmatic. Every lens ever made for Pentax will work with their newest offerings and that means there are lots of different lenses available to me. I’ve even rekindled my love for the Pentax f70-200 which is almost 40 years old and works beautifully on my Pentax K1mkii
Just bought one. The more modern ones have better video and a bit better focus system. But this one was about 1100 Euros and that is half of the more modern ones. Sent it to Nikon for replacement of the leather on the right side which they did for free and a sensor cleaning which was 30 Euros. It is a cool little camera.
I went from point and shoot to a Canon AE1 film camera in 1981. I still have it. I got an Olympus PL1 PEN in 2010, for a trip to Europe. I am an amateur photographer, now retired from my profession.
Promise not to tell Nikon but I have a Nikon z7ii but I had it covered for infrared photography. I also have a regular z7ii body I use for street photography. I was using a d850 for street but moving to the smaller z7ii body was a breath of fresh air. For my landscape work I just sold the d850 and jumped to the z8. I have to say the z8 is larger than the z7 body and a little heavier but the layout and functionality I find easier to use on the z8. I find I can just get to things in the camera faster. And if you find yourself in a situation of shooting wildlife the 30fps jpg or 15fps RAW is AMAZING.
I have a nikon d3300, d7100 and a canon 6d ( recently astromodded) old cameras, but they do the job. My d3300 is my everyday camera, I take it everywhere, even to work in case I see something good on the way home
Been using MPB for years and they are incredible both for selling and buying. So fast on payment too. I shoot with sony, always have. As much as I would like the A7R5 for the new tech on the auto focus and the new screen, the 61MP is not something I want to work with. And the compressed medium at 26 MP doesn't make sense and not enough when I need to heavily crop. So for now, I stick to my trusted and Loved a7R3III. Incredible camera with high end lenses, it works just perfect.
Another great video! The last shot was a Belter! Sony shooter purely based on their light weight designs but you are right your camera is just a tool brand loyalty is just personal to us all ❤
I tend to do a mix of things in my photography, so I updated to a Nikon Z8 for landscape / documentary and I also use an OM1 for travel / street. Both are great cameras with different uses for me. I love the image quality of the Z8 and the ergonomics. But, the OM1 is a cracking camera, with just brilliant build quality. Small, but tough as nails.
If you don’t mind sharing, which OM-1 do you use and which lens or lenses do you favor for travel? I ask because I am thinking to do the same as you - Olympus for travel/hiking and Nikon for all else. I’ve been looking at the E-M1 III and the OM-1 MK I and II as the camera and the M Zuiko 12-100 f/4 and 20mm f/1.4 as the lenses. Thank you!
@@otiswoodard7391 Hi, no problem. I use an OM-1 Mk1. I have a few lenses, but in reality the 12-100 Pro lives on the lens for most of the time as it's such a good lens. I'm just about to sell the Z8 as I rarely use it to be honest. It's top notch, but I can't be bothered with the size and weight of it. I much prefer the OM-1, due to the size. I don't have the 20 1.4, but that's a lens I have my eye on as well!
I use a Canon R6 at present and going to keep that, but have the OM5 coming tomorrow with the 25mm and 12-200mm to lighten my load. After a lot of research and watching your videos it convinced me, you should get MPB to step in and repair as I went with them, as you say quite often great place to buy equipment. I part exchanged a lens that had been gathering dust, having another camera seemed the right choice for me at the minute 👍🏻 Keep them coming Henry , look forward to the daily videos but you’ll deserve a well earned break after these 👍🏻
Nice job Henry! I’m not big on gear videos…but you handled this well! I love how Nikon products feel in my hands. Their ergonomics are the best! Thanks for taking me along!
Hi Henry, i’ve got that exact setup too. I bought the Z7 “on special” during the Covid plague and I just love it. I also bought the 24-200 mm lens to stick on the Z7 … permanently. I only shoot stills and the versatility of this setup is fantastic. It is not a fast lens, so light to carry around and I have a tripod for when needed. I’ve got an FTZ Ii adapter enabling the use of my older glass but I don’t think I’m ever going to need that. All in all Z7 with 24-200 mm is a hard combo to beat. Cheers
I reckon the 100-400 would be a good addition for you Henry as it would give you some additional options for your repertoire of images. I have been with Canon for a good number of years and given my investment in my lenses, I don't see a need to jump platforms although if I was, the Nikon brand would definitely be a contender. I currently have an EOS R and its served me well over the last few years. Moved from the 5Div mainly for the articulating screen as some of the positions I get into for my architectural photography were difficult with a fixed screen. Patiently waiting to see what the R5 Mark II is like and it could be tempting time to change if the specs are good
I love my Z6, Nikon cameras have never let me down since 85! Don't trust MPB's descriptions - I bought a cheap 50mm that was listed as Good condition and it was like new! Outrageous!
I love my Z6 and use it for street photography and night photography, I recently added a Z8 to my gear and that is truly amazing, I use for wildlife mainly birds and the autofocus is brilliant for this but the added bonus is that with a 45 mp sensor it is also great for landscape.
I've used a Canon since 1982, I'm comfortable with the set up of the cameras as they developed...however..I did have a Nikon compact camera which was great to use for video...a great location you were at the dune grasses create great effects ...Best wishes....ps...the black and white shot with lady and dog was so so atmospheric
Love my Z7II, use it with 24-290, 14-30 and for wildlife with 200-500 f mount adapted. Love this camera, never lets me down, love that I can go DX mode to zoom in for wildlife and still have plenty of megapixels.
I recently upgraded to the Canon R6 Mark2 from the Canon 5D. I really debated switching to another brand but I already invested in so many lenses. I'm really enjoying the mirrorless but I've still got a lot of practice in front of me.
I am a sort of sports photographer and have a Canon R7, with it's APSC 32 MB sensor it is nearly equivalent to your 45 MB. It suits me and was / is reasonably priced for my purposes.
Well said Henry .. the camera is just the tool we use to capture the vision we see and transform that into we hope a stunning photo print . Personally I am and always have been a Canon man shooter using the R5 . It serves my purpose and love the simplicity of Canon with their menu layout . I suppose when one has invested big coin in the glass you are kind of locked in to the system be it Sony Nikon Canon Fuji etc etc ! As long as you as the photographer are comfortable and happy with your investment that’s all that matters as they all more or less operate the same way in a sense ! Thanks again for these insights and topics . Cheers Henry 👌🏻👍
I veer between a Z7II and a X100V and love them both. One contrary opinion if I may? Your point about video is something I dislike about both cameras. I never shoot video and I just wish manufacturers would consider a pure camera (like the good old days 😂). I so wish the menus and buttons were uncluttered with video stuff I never use. Just my opinion of course... P.S. by manufacturers I mean specifically Nikon and Fujifilm...
Great images Henry, given the conditions, and that is something we all need to remember. there are always images to capture, sometimes we just need to try a bit harder! MPB won't like this, but, I have just re-acquired the Z 24-200mm, having stupidly sold my previous one. But due to the current Nikon offers, I was able to buy a brand new one cheaper than a used one from MPB. Result, shop around people!
I currently have a D7200 and was seriously contemplating switching to a Canon R6 II until I watched this video! Want a more compact set up with IBIS so I don't have to rely on a tripod so much. Now thinking about the Z6II instead...
Hi Henry, thanks again for another great video! I’m thinking to upgrade my nikon z6 to z7ii! Please do a video to share with us your van life, it must be interesting as you have images from sunrises and sunsets! Thanks and keep going!
I have used mpb 2 times I think now. Originally I had bought a canon 350d when I started photography, I got into mostly motorsport photography and managed to get a 7d mk1. Brilliant camera except I water damaged it due to a rogue wave. Used mpb to get a replacement and they were brilliantly priced. Went to Bali and water damaged that one too with .. a rogue wave 🙃 a while later got a 7d mk2, I have always liked them for the motorsport photography but i actually do nearly only landscape now and it’s all I know camera wise
If I didn’t already have the Z7, it would definitely be the camera I’d buy for my weekend landscaping treks. I’ve had it for years and recently picked up the Z8 for portraits and event photography. Even though the Z7 and Z8 have different sensors, I can’t tell the difference in the image quality. I have many Z lenses, but the 24-200 is now permanently attached to the Z7.
Hey Henry, i use the Fuji "workhorse" version. The X-H1. Just feels so good in the hand. Safe and built like a tank. Had it a few years now and still learning things about this beast but love it. Swap a few different lenses on it, 10-24mm, 16-55mm & 50-140mm.
I use the Z7ii and the 24-200mm Henry sold all my other lenses 14-30mm F4.0....24-70mm f4.0....Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 G2 ....just to much weight as i get older and i found myself not going out because of this ....one lens as light as this and i have my mojo back ....Merry Xmas mate
Stumbled on this video as 2025 is round the corner, and find your considerations remain current. Looking for a "like new" Z7 or Z7II at the moment after selling mine just over a year ago to purchase the Zf. I regret that move even if the Zf is a lovely piece of gear. I want my 45MP back and its cropping flexibility, and I cannot fork out for a Z8. Regarding lenses, I am a prime guy and a sucker for best possible IQ, hence the three Voigtlander APO lenses I own. Which are a pain to carry and swap around while hiking. I do not think I could ever be content with the 24-200: your zoomed in black and white pic of the woman on the beach kind of proves why, and I am surprised that, as a landscaper, you can settle for such lack of detail (when zoomed in or viewed close by a big print). For me, the 24-70 f/2.8 and the Plena might be the ideal zoom-based combination.
I use and love the z7 also. The only thing I don't like about it is the focus shift shooting mode. Should really be able to autofocus then start the stack but it doesn't work like that. Oh and I can't get my head round the fact the end lens caps tighten anticlockwise!
I got a kick out of this video as I mostly use a Z7 with a 24-200 when shooting landscapes. Looking forward to the Z7III coming out this year if the rumors are true.
I have a couple of Canon prime EF lenses so when I upgraded I went for the 5dmkiv. I love it, especially the 24-105mm lens that came with it. Downside is that's it's heavy and no flip screen - you live and learn 😀
Not playing with the big boys yet, still learning the art of photography but I do shoot Nikon and when the time comes will almost certainly look at the Z7. It’s Marram Grass Henry not reeds 😉 remember that from playing in the dunes as a kid in Wales, sharp damn stuff but very photogenic with the right light 👍
I’d like to find a Z7 or 7ll for the right price but I need one like I need a hole in my head. I picked up a used Z6 a year or so ago and love it, it still gets used more than my Z8. For some reason there are people that like to talk down the Z6 and Z7 but I just don’t understand. The only short coming is auto focus. If the only thing that you shoot is birds in flight then the Z6 or 7 probably isn’t the best choice.
An absolutely brilliant camera! I bought it when it first came out and have simply not found a reason to change it. Like you, l previously had the D7200 and before that the D200. I have not had a single problem with any of the cameras. Reason enough for me to love Nikon! Fantastic range of lenses now. The wonderful Z 105 macro is one of my favourites but the Z 24-200 is attached 90% of the time. Love your enthusiastic videos, followed you since New Zealand!
Great stuff, Henry. I myself, too, am a Nikon shooter, just in that that is the one I prefer using Nikon for years, I just know how it works but also just gives me the user experience, I want, with Sony and Olympus coming in second. That 24-200mm never leaves the camera as it is a great all-in-one zoom for hiking with 90% of the sharpness versus the other S Line lenses. Like you said everyone makes a great camera now but for landscape, in my opinion, you can beat Nikon for the value, even their newer models.
Been shooting the D3200 for years, wanted to upgrade to mirrorless, couldn't afford the Z9 so took your advice, went to MPB and got the Z7ii. Thanks so much!! Am still learning but love it!!!
Once again Henry, another fantastic video. I have a Z6 and Z9 but waiting for Nikon to update to the Z6III… and here you come with another video that makes me want to go out and get a new camera, a Z7, that I have absolutely no use for. Ha… Beautiful pics as always!
My budget won't stretch that far. I upgraded from my canon 750D to 7DMKii on MPB and love it. That said, starting out in photography the 750D was better as it was a simpler camera to use. I might upgrade to an R7 next year. I like the more compact lenses that come with APSC as it means I can take my camera in my laptop pack on work travel. I love my canon 18-135. It is on the camera 90% of the time
Interesting that point 2 about the Z7 was the weatherproofing as one of the main issues putting me off any iteration of the Z7 or Z6 is the great big hole when switching lenses. As I have a D600 I am very familiar with sensor cleaning and would like to avoid it in the future if possible. That said, the Z6 (I and II) and Z7 (I and II) will be absolute steals in 2024 if versions III are released.
Merry Christmas, (I guess I should say Happy Christmas to a Brit. LoL.) As for my camera system, it's the wonderful Pentax camera system. I've rarely had a reason to switch. I say rarely because a couple times I really liked the performance that a third party offered. The problem was that it was only offered to Canon and Nikon. I learned to get around the problem but it took a lot of time to do. Other than that I've been a happy Pentax user for many years.
Good video Henry just thinking of changing my Sony 6600 as it is not comfortable to hold for me and was considering the Nikon Z7 or the canon r6 for my landscape photography, great photos again 😊
Sold my D810, my D7500, other stuff too, bought a Z7, brilliant piece of kit, ftz adapter to use my F mount lenses. My Nikkor F/1.8, 20mm, it's brilliant on the Z7. I've now bought a Z6 because of its 13fps, this is to replace my D5 that with the Sigma 60-600mm attached weighs about the same as the moon. The D5 with its insane buffer and 12 fps is brilliant for wildlife. At this time, with the Z6 and an ftz attached to use the Sigma lens with it, I can't get along with it. Everything is soft, not exactly blurry, but not pin sharp either. Sigma have listed this lens as being compatible with the ftz on Z mounts. It's still super fast, but the imaging I can only put down to the adapter. I only got the Z6 yesterday, so still playing. If I compare my 20MP D5 with that big lens with the Z6 at 24 MP, there's no comparison , the D5 wins every time. The reason I bought the Z7 was because of your videos. So pleased with it. Amazing bit of kit. Now, because of the Z7ii and the Z6ii, the arrival of the Z8 and if you win the lottery, the Z9, the original Z6 and Z7 are now dropping in price on the second hand market.
Having only (quality) nikon dslr lenses, I am torn whether to upgrade my D750 to a used D850 dslr (having the same image quality as a Z7, fantastic) or a used Z7 considering it has in-body image stabilisation. I'm sure the autofocus is fast and accurate with both models. I only have a couple of screw drive af lenses and so would keep my D750 for them.
Another awesome video. Thank You for all you do and all of your advise. I know for me, I love my Z6ii as it just gives me everything I want in my larger camera. I also have the OM 5 for my quick on the go camera. I wanted to check and see if you have any updates on the repair for that one you have. I will be using it this weekend over the holiday weekend. Again, thanks again Henry!!!
Where in North-Wales is that? First I thought the beach of Dinas Dinlle, but these dunes...perhaps near Harlech? And I´m using a Z5 (not make any videos) and a Z50 with the 50-250mm Zoom. And some Viltrox lenses for portrait/boudoir and such stuff.
I'm debating if I should go for the used Z7 or a7r3. They are roughly 1100USD in HK. I'm trying to avoid Sony as their old models tends to have inaccurate Auto-WB+terrible jpeg. Is Z7's AF tracking becomes much better after the firmware update?
Wait.... I just watched your video about finding a better camera because your Z7 is too big.... and thought you were going OM5 :). Did I miss another video in between?
Henry, today was my first time to watch your channel and I’ll check out more videos by you and subscribe. Well done! You used the phrase “artsy fartsy” which made laugh out loud. I studied photography at a magazine in the 70s and my mentor used that term to describe some photos, but I hadn’t heard it for a long time! 😂12:40
Hi Henry, another grand day out and thanks for sharing. I'm a D3500 user in the "cheap seats" and to be fair never thought I'd be able to aspire to a Z7 .. semingly one day I might, particualrly if the version 3 of the Z6/Z7 comes along soon as that ought to push the original Z7s down in price just a little further. An original Z7 will be perceived by some as "old hat", but it'd be a massive step forward to me. FYI I bought a 35mm F1.8 DX lens from MPB recently as my "dipping a toe" into 2nd hand kit and honestly I coudn't fault them. The lens was advertised as excellent condition, and I'd have said it was like new, so no complaints from me. All I need now is a bit of a lottery win ;-) Incidentally, what's the story on the wounded OM5 and lens - hopefully views on the advent series might help to fund the repairs.
If budget is a serious consideration - and it was in my case - a good used DSLR and lens(es) could be the answer. I made the step up from point-and-shoots to a Nikon D7000 almost 5 years ago and my entire kit (camera, 35mm prime lens, 55-300mm zoon lens, tripod, camera bag, speed-light, shutter remote, filters) cost me less than I can get a used Z7 body for. That means more money for fuel and travel - AND a camera that performs solidly and produces quality images. Thanks, as always for the content. Try not to burn yourself out on this Advent Blitz. :)
"There is forever something to photograph." Agreed. This planet is so stunning!
This video is awesome for 3 reasons.
1. Its Henry Turner being Henry Turner
2. It's refreshing to hear about USED gear reviews which is arguably more needed nowadays than new gear reviews.
3. Reminds people you don't need the latest version of whatever camera/lens to take good photos. Great kit has been around for years. Spend the money wisely but spend the time better.
I just bought one used… so excited

I use a wrist strap and can hook two fingers on the grip and let it hang there. I just love this camera. Lenses are 24-200, 14-30 and a Viltrox 24mm 1.8
One understated fact of the 45mp sensor is cropability. It's extremely versatile from that perspective. You can crop 30% of the image and still have a 24mp image left.

@@jorgevaladas788The auto focus on the Z7 is fantastic, and the focus settings options can be more refined than the Z50.
My Z7ii has been dropped 2 times, last time on the concrete pavement. No issues resulted. Guess I am a lucky guy after all.
I've owned the Z7 for about 4 years from shortly after it came out and even though I bought the Z8 I am fortunate enough that I am able to keep both and love both of them for different reasons and some of the same reasons.
The Z7 is great for landscape and cityscape photography because it does pretty much everything needed for that in a smaller ,
lighter body that is not too expensive now like you said, that is weather sealed, has IBIS for handholding, full frame 45 MP sensor for great image quality.
there is no need for high performance focus tracking with landscapes.
This video makes me realize how much I miss the beach and the sea! I definitely have to go to one of the islands again next year!
Another great video! The last shot was a Belter! Sony shooter purely based on their light weight designs but you are right your camera is just a tool brand loyalty is just personal to us all ❤
I’ve had a crush on the z system from the launch. I have to get one sooner rather than later
I have a nikon d610 (10yearsold) and love it only thing it lacks is a tilting screen but just gives me all I need
Same
I use a Canon R6 at present and going to keep that, but have the OM5 coming tomorrow with the 25mm and 12-200mm to lighten my load. After a lot of research and watching your videos it convinced me, you should get MPB to step in and repair as I went with them, as you say quite often great place to buy equipment. I part exchanged a lens that had been gathering dust, having another camera seemed the right choice for me at the minute 👍🏻
Keep them coming Henry , look forward to the daily videos but you’ll deserve a well earned break after these 👍🏻
Nice job Henry! I’m not big on gear videos…but you handled this well! I love how Nikon products feel in my hands. Their ergonomics are the best! Thanks for taking me along!
I shoot with a D-850 but it's getting very heavy. So you convinced me, I ordered a Z-7 with a 24-200 from MPB! I'll let you know! Thanks!!
Patiently waiting to see what the R5 Mark II is like and it could be tempting time to change if the specs are good
Need to agree - the 100-400 needs to be in Henry's camera bag.
I do day and multi-day hiking. I carry a z 7 II with the z 24-200. Epic combination!
Canon R5 for me and the RF24-105 is the lens that stays on the camera most of the time.
If you get the chance an update on the Olympus camera would be nice. MPB is top class and honest service, 10!
I love my Z6, Nikon cameras have never let me down since 85! Don't trust MPB's descriptions - I bought a cheap 50mm that was listed as Good condition and it was like new! Outrageous!
Use z7 for portrait work and couple it up with my z6ii for event stuff . Does the job
Loved my Nikon Z6 i moved away from the brand due to poor AF for moving subjects, i am tempted to come back for the Z8 though
I love my Z6 and use it for street photography and night photography, I recently added a Z8 to my gear and that is truly amazing, I use for wildlife mainly birds and the autofocus is brilliant for this but the added bonus is that with a 45 mp sensor it is also great for landscape.
Got a cannon 250d comes with 18,55 lens so easy to work can still get good enough pictures with that lens
Love my Z7 too, for travel, landscape ... for action stuff : I use the Z9 ... Kind regards, Guy.
Z7 / Z7ii - 45 megapixels
DX mode - 19.5 megapixels
I recently upgraded to the Canon R6 Mark2 from the Canon 5D. I really debated switching to another brand but I already invested in so many lenses. I'm really enjoying the mirrorless but I've still got a lot of practice in front of me.
I'm still shooting my D200 , D300 ,D5200. I'm no pro but seems to do everything I need.
Cheers Henry! Thanks for the info! Wonderful shots today!👍
Yeah I’d be the same if I didn’t already have it!
Looks like Harlech... and I say that as I shoot the Harlech Triathlon every year ! :)
My old D300s is still doing the business...
Love MPB, use them all the time to buy and trade stuff, quality company
Hey Henry, i use the Fuji "workhorse" version. The X-H1. Just feels so good in the hand. Safe and built like a tank. Had it a few years now and still learning things about this beast but love it. Swap a few different lenses on it, 10-24mm, 16-55mm & 50-140mm.
Is the fuji x-h1 as good as z7?
I have a Nikon f2sb. Maybe it's time to upgrade? Another fine video, Henry. What stamina. Cheers.
Thanks mate, that’s class!
I'm planning to do this too! (D5300 to Z7ii)!
Love my z7 the weight is perfct for me. Thank you for the video
I just upgraded to am Z6ii and now sorry I did not get the Z7II. Oh well, I will need a second body soon!
Yes if I don't want the new 6iii or 7iii, I would get a z7ii, have a z6ii which I intend to keep.
Merry Christmas, (I guess I should say Happy Christmas to a Brit. LoL.)
As for my camera system, it's the wonderful Pentax camera system.
I would gladly accept the limitations of a Leica q2. He is my dream.
Looks funny when you hold the camera upside down.
Omg ! Great scenery !
Terrific review ! Learned a lot just watching this.
Glad you enjoyed it
A weather sealed body is not weather sealed if your lenses are not also weather sealed.
Hi Henry, I enjoyed the video as usual.
Great image's.
Hey Henry loving the adventure calendar series!! What beach are you at I recognise it, I’m from North Wales.
thanks! It’s Harlech 👍🏼
Good info Henry even though I'll keep my Fuji😉 Great series!
Great video. I use the ZFC, but looking at going full frame. I will definitely stick with Nikon.
Hi Henry, in one of your videos a short while ago you bought an Olympus as a lighter weight option. Have stopped using that?
Bit of a sore point I think, he broke it 🫣
Ooops, sorry Henry, obviously missed that video
Having only (quality) nikon dslr lenses, I am torn whether to upgrade my D750 to a used D850 dslr (having the same image quality as a Z7, fantastic) or a used Z7 considering it has in-body image stabilisation. I'm sure the autofocus is fast and accurate with both models. I only have a couple of screw drive af lenses and so would keep my D750 for them.
Great video as always Henry but I have a question, how many miles have you put in doing these videos.
Thanks mate, no idea I should count them haha
You say one of your reasons is the weather sealing, but you are shooting with the 24-200 which I’m pretty sure isn’t!
The other great thing about the Nikon Z system is Nikon brought out the adapter ring for the older lenses.
Thanks mate, it’s still in repair 👍🏼
Where in North-Wales is that? First I thought the beach of Dinas Dinlle, but these dunes...perhaps near Harlech? And I´m using a Z5 (not make any videos) and a Z50 with the 50-250mm Zoom. And some Viltrox lenses for portrait/boudoir and such stuff.
Harlech
Great series. Grey days are the best.👍
I'm debating if I should go for the used Z7 or a7r3. They are roughly 1100USD in HK. I'm trying to avoid Sony as their old models tends to have inaccurate Auto-WB+terrible jpeg. Is Z7's AF tracking becomes much better after the firmware update?
thanks for another great video. cheers Henry
Wait.... I just watched your video about finding a better camera because your Z7 is too big.... and thought you were going OM5 :). Did I miss another video in between?
I was wondering if you have ever tried Underwater Photography?
I love mine. It's everything I need and nothing I don't.
That will be a good camera for another ten years
nice one mate, you need to be over 100K subs next year
Henry, today was my first time to watch your channel and I’ll check out more videos by you and subscribe.
I the cheap seats with a D3500. Brilliant comment, made me laugh. 😊
AS a Sony shooter I prefer the Sony a1 to any other camera I have owned
